no logic at all. Trent will be the reason a lot of top HC candidats wont go to jacksonville. We already saw that Doug had some problems with the roaster building of Trent and that wont go away with a new HC.

Baalke was involved in the 49ers firing of Jim Harbaugh. Baalke doesn't know how to draft WRs. He had multiple 1st round draft picks and how did those players pan out?
I don't really see any of the current openings attracting any of the Lions Coordinators. You either get to deal with dysfunctional GMs, a franchise that makes personnel decisions from video game ratings, or a team happily living in the shadows of its past.
i dont have a problem with the ownership. Khan is paying the players and give them the money to work with. Urban was a friend of Khan and a grab into the toilet. I think Khan is a owner a lot of GMs and HC would love to work with because he is patient and give them the money to work with. But he is terrible in his decision making when it comes to adding stuff members. Fire the GM and HC and give the next HC the chance to chose the GM he likes to work with.

@@SuperMurray2009 Actually it was an honest question. Trevor seems like a solid guy. He was a rookie and has a new coach every year. Doug seemed solid but there is obviously a problem. Now another coach. Poorly run franchise in my opinion
@@jameshenderson9830 Yes it's the Franchise. Trevor can't get better as a QB with terrible coaching. Almost no QB in the NFL succeeds long term with terrible coaching
@@SuperMurray2009 I was listening to NFL radio yesterday and they thought Trevor hit his ceiling. I'm not so sure. Need at least 4 years stability to see where you are. Tired of the modern NFL firing coaches or moving away from players after 1 or 2 years.
Trent should've been released too. Offensive and defensive coordinators as well. This time if it doesn't work maybe the owner needs to get out of it too.
Pederson fell on the sword for Press Taylor. Other teams have figured his offense out and yet Doug refused or was unable to evolve the offense. When Trevor missed games from injury it was patently obvious that Doug and Press rode the coattails of Trevor's talent. The offense was miserable without Trevor. Also, I think there was some friction between Doug and Trevor. On several occasions Doug did not defend Trevor in his public statements. Furthermore, Doug did not utilize his personnel to the team's advantage. It was as if he had a system and expected everyone from the starter to the 3rd stringer to make plays at critical times of the game. Why would you not use your best players when the game is on the line? After making a change at DC last year the defense went backwards. Either Doug did not know how to fix the problems or he was unwilling to point the finger at the GM. Baalke made terrible free agent choices and his draft picks were middle of the road. The owner knows nothing about football and strongly needs an EVP.
First year of coaching bring them to playoff and all praising for him, now with a lot of injury, maybe politics in team then they fired him, business as usual!!!
Taking the advise of sports journalists is the last thing any football people should do. Perhaps what should go on is both GM and HC should work together instead of playing office politics undermining each other to get what they want. Think about what happens when they do work together. There are teams where that happens.
Ben Johnson may bring some pizzazz to the offense of the Lions, but the culture comes from Dan Campbell and Sheila Ford sticking with the plan. Johnson will not get that on any of the teams he will get offers from. He is best suited riding with Detroit for a few more successful seasons, then taking his skills to a new team.
I don’t think Doug is going to tie himself to more failing quarterbacks. I don’t think he’ll get a head coaching job anymore, which is a shame for him because he’s a good coach. The jags should’ve given him one more year.

the #1 problem with the jacksonville jaguars franchise is clearly the owner

Doug's actually decent, in my opinion. He would probably bring us 2 championships in a 10 year stint. They should have fired the GM instead.

I feel bad for Doug. He is a good coach who won a superbowl as a player and coach. He will find something else. 😊
The problem is his greatest strength is his greatest weakness he is too fearless for his own good sometimes.
