I started my Wheel of Time journey with New Spring: Prequel to Wheel of Time. It really helped once Moiraine and Lan are introduced, it's their backstory and explains so much. Enjoy your reading.

I read and thoroughly enjoyed "The Wager" while traveling home from Mexico. It was a long trip but the book really put travel in perspective for me! Several plane trips is really nothing compared to what those men endured. I'm currently reading 11/22/63. It's only my second Stephen King novel (the first being Fairy Tale).

Oh wow! I loved the Wagwr as well. Really puts sea travel at that time in perspective. I've also read both of those King novels and loved each one. 👍❤️

Thanks for the GN recommendation, 100% picking this book up. Currently reading: Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass #2), A Court of Silver Flames, and 2/1 I'll be starting Dark Matter with you guys on Patreon; yay!

Fun idea with the crochet squares! Can't wait to see what it ends up being. By happenstance, I also just finished Kitchen Confidential (I listened on audio). I enjoyed it until about 3/4 of the way through, then I found the stories of his many moves from restaurant to restaurant and the antics of his colleagues to be repetitive and a bit like you had to be there (like hearing good friends' inside jokes or memories) or maybe I'm just no fun! Lol! I enjoyed his tips on must have kitchen tools and ingredients and his explanation of how a kitchen preps and runs, as I have always been curious about that. I don't think I would pick up anymore of his books but he was definitely a dynamic character. You might enjoy the Books Unbound podcast. There are two hosts and they read broadly but they like some fantasy, Stephen King and graphic novels. In the past year or so, they started posting their podcast on TH-cam but it was originally (and can still be listened to as) an audio podcast. I'm interested in your book club but I'm waiting for a book that I haven't read already (Night Circus) or am interested in (I watched Dark Matter and it wasn't form me but if you end up enjoying the book, I'm sure you would like the show), so please keep announcing here what you will be reading in future months.

I can see what you mean about the stories of him in the trenches so to say, it did have me a bit like "okay, I get it," but I also enjoyed his ability to describe everything. As for the book club, totally understand that. We will make sure to keep the people hear informed as we move on to new books. It is a fun part of the process figuring out the next book.

I love watching your knitting blog Tayler! (Although I am a crocheter, your yarn reviews are IT.) And just when I decide to track my reading by starting a reading journal, I search for reading journal and book review vids … And this series of videos pop up!! I am so loving your reviews and the interaction between you two! You’ve got a fan for life, whether you’re discussing knitting, yarn, or your love of books. Oh yes…book granny squares… I’m doing that via a Facebook group. But I’ll be there for yours as well, if you decide to start one.

Loved my reread of The Night Circus, can't for the live discussion, got so much more out of it the second time around. Currently reading, Go To Help by Erika Englehaupt, a non-fiction put out my National Geographic about all the "hellish" places on Earth and for fiction, The Beguiled by Thomas Cullinan. It's a historical gothic set in Civil War days. I am really enjoying it. It has been adapted to film starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Farrell, and Kirsten Dunst. Looking forward to reading Dark Matter, picked up my copy from the library yesterday! Thinking of starting the granny squares also, a book bag is a great idea. Love your channel!

If you're looking for some books that are quite visual/interactive that aren't graphic novels/comic books I would recommend The Griffin and Sabine Saga by Nick Bantock or The Venetian's Wife also by Nick Bantock or The Tattooed Map by Barbara Hodgson.

I’m currently reading The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman (3rd Thursday Murder Club). I’m only 60 pages in so haven’t really formed an opinion on it yet. However, I do think the second book in the series is better than the first as I liked Ibrahim’s storyline and how all the characters rallied to support him.

I really enjoy both podcasts! Currently, I am listening to The Vampires of El Norte. I am about 10 chapters in and am wondering where are the vampires? Aside from that, I'm enjoying the story telling. Thanks for your content! I look forward to your new videos every week!

Hi Monica! Thank you for watching. And I’m glad you’re enjoying VoEN. The vampires in this book are not typical vampires. And in fact you’ll find that it’s more of a symbol for a particular group of people. Keep listening. I think it will all start making sense soon.

I totally agree with Tayler about maps! There’s a series I read that I loosely call fantasy because it’s a mystery series where the characters are woodland creatures. Each book has a map and will include any new areas mentioned in that story. I’m totally here because of WNH and geeked out a bit when you shared your granny squares! They’re looking so good a book bag is the perfect thing to do with those. Will you make a bag at the end of the year to commemorate the books you’ve completed this year or will you make it when you just have enough to make a bag? Lastly, I think there was another author who did another treasure search, but the treasure was a key and when the key was authenticated, you got a gemstone? Josh Gates did an episode on the series on his Expedition Unknown show and followed a reader who actually found the key in a baseball field that was being turned into a building, so they had to stop construction to film the show (or so it appeared). Because construction had started, the key was actually destroyed, but they found enough pieces to put together so the guy could claim his prize. If I remember correctly, the author had passed away, but his wife presented the recipient with his gemstone. Josh Gates also did an episode on Forrest Fenn, so it was fun when you mentioned him.

At Joann’s you can buy fabric you can print in the printer. Maybe you could print the book covers or makes tags for the back of your coasters. If it was me, I would forget what they all were within a month! 😅

I read several of the Wheel of Time novels. I enjoyed them up to a point, then it got REALLY dark and felt as if Robert Jordan was no longer telling a story as much as finding ways to torture the characters (and the readers) for fun. At that point, I found other things to occupy my time. 🙂 But I know people who have read the whole series and loved it. To each his/ her own.

Hi guys, for me The night circus was my best book of 2024, I loved it soooo much. I'm currently reading a thriller that you may like and maybe want to read together " Beautiful ugly " by Alice Feeney. It's perfect for a shared reading because you can have a lot of ideas on what's happening in the history and it's super thrilling and confusing. It's so frustrating that I can't talk to anyone about my ideas! Happy reading! 😉📚
