should we be concerned about water or electrical wire running along the joists underneath? I don't think it's supposed to, but are these nails not deep enough for those lines if installed properly?
Water and elec lines, if any present, should be tacked to the side of the joist. You’re screwing into the top. But if you’re worried, I’d confirm you’re above a joist before you drive a screw in

Im living downstairs, upstairs is a carpet room with extemely loud snaps cracks pops and stomping sounds from tje upstairs room. Ive been watching s few videos that recommend this technique. Do you have any adivice? Mostly looking to fix the extremely loud snaps and pops and cracks that happen

Using nails for the subfloor with NO adhesive causes squeaks. High traffic areas.

Usually don't have to re-stretch pulled carpet. Rented carpet kicker will work. Re fasted to carpet tacks.
What size screws did u use? Was the shorter one was 2inches and the longer one was 3inches?
