This kit worked great to remove the squeaky board in my upstairs.
Tip - Use a magnetic stud finder for upstairs floors so you can locate joists much faster. You are looking for the screws that are holding the floors down. It might take time depending on how many screws they used, but it will be easier than just drilling.

Obviously fixing it from below is better but if going from the top we use a Franklin stud finder and “ trim head” stainless screws , always works. Great channel

What would be the cause if you have squeaks that run down the entire length of the floor joist?? Is that signs of a foundational issue? We've had our foundation reinforced with concrete pillars but there are four places, all of which run along two floor joists, that are creaking massively!

A carpet man would be pissed because putting screws threw the carpet,the problem is the plywood subfloor not the carpet pull the carpet back then put screws where needed and no that method would get you banned from the persons house if you try to screw thru lvp, laminate and hardwood floors

Better solution go back to making floors out of 2x4’s had a brand new home built in 2007 floors squeaked day one…. Moved to a home built in 1955 about 7 years later….no floor in a single spot squeaks on the old home, also there’s zero flex you can jump up and down and nothing bows….i wish they would go back to 2x4 floors also the joists are closer then on the newer home

This is so strange to me how it is posible that you in America have homes made entirely from wood. I be scared to walk on the wooden flor thats have like 60 yers old. Sry for my english

In Norway we have wooden buildings that are closer to 1000 years old. That timber was cut on a few special days every year from old trees. Churches have floors that are often 300 years old. And remember that in those days drainage around and under buildings was poor! Wood that can last extremely long if kept dry, or in water without oxygen. Wooden buildings that are old typically leak a lot of air which helps to air out the structure, and keep moisture-levels low.
