My guess she grazed his ribs in the house with the gun and walked him outside towards the burn pit, threatening to kill him if he didn't, she shot him again and he went down. It doesn't take an Einstein to figure out the momentum his body would have once she rolled him down the hill to the burn pile would be enough to get him there. Also, hate and evil and adrenaline gives even the smallest person strength. She knew she had to get him there regardless of the means. She went to Walmart and bought cleaning supplies including bleach, missed a few spots in the house, took a shower in Scott's shower which explains why it was so clean. The State should have tested the drain for blood. Not unusual for Scott to have a messy apartment but the bathroom was spotless. The state should have tested all of the blood spots, and they should have seen if the hospital had taken any blood when Gary was hospitalized to test for poison. I do believe she probably tried to poison him first which explains why he didn't feel well. Too bad Gary didn't go get a blood draw before she killed him. Scott wasn't even near the house. Only her. I don't think Rusty participated in the killing but if someone I knew called me and I knew they hated their spouse or whomever and told me "he is in the burn pit" there surely would have been a more startled remark than what Rusty gave her. No shock at all. He just told her to stop talking to him so that he wouldn't be implicated. I hope the jury finds her guilty of all charges swiftly.

There are so many idiots and narcissists out there who try to kill their spouses but they always leave something behind. Also, with all of the phones and tracking devices now, I find it hard to believe that anyone could get away with murder. All of this is my speculation but I've watched crime shows where itty bitty people will kill someone and their adrenaline and hatred lets them drag them and hide the body. Sometimes digging a grave. Chris Watts, killed his wife, drug her down the stairs, loaded her into his truck, loaded his two little girls in the truck, drove over an hour to an oil well site, dug a hole for his wife, half buried her and carried each of his girls up the stairs to drop them in the top of the oil tank. She needed to pin the murder on someone so she called Scott that night to come back home from the lake house where he was staying. She told him the horses got out (Gary left the gate open, she said…….eye roll……not falling for it). She had already shot and killed Gary then called Scott to come home and put the horses up. Scott drove all the way back home to find that the horses were fine. She set him up. She would have been the only person home that night with Gary so she lured Scott there and lied about the horses. She set up her own son.
Gary is on the burn 3 July this said before Gary was found Rusty realised he had messed up big time and tried to recant. Too late Melody confessed to this murder by that statement alone. Guilty.

One possible theory of how Melody, a 120-pound woman, was able to move Gary, a 300-pound man, out of the basement is that she may have started shooting him there, where another projectile was found, but he ran upstairs and out of the house. She then finished him off and used a tractor to scoop up his body-the man she’d been married to for nearly 40 years, the father of their four children-and placed him on a burn pile. I’ve run out of adjectives to describe this evil woman!
He didn’t have to run up the stairs, they had a walk-out basement. I think she shot him at the top of the stairs, he ran downstairs, and she shot him again (bullet in the basement) then he ran out the basement door.

When Rusty Barton said that Melody had told him that Gary was on the burn pile, didn't he also mention that she'd told him that the horses were out. Melody phoned her son the night that Gary died asking him to attend the farm to put those horses back in. Therefore Rusty's recantation was a lie, because he originally stated that was also the night that Melody told him "He's on the burn pile"

I think she shot him in the house once. That way he knew she “meant business”. So when she told him “walk out to the burn pile” he walked because he was afraid she’d shoot him again. She didn’t need to drag him. He walked. Wounded. She didn’t need to use any equipment that way!
She needed to pin the murder on someone so she called Scott that night to come back home from the lake house where he was staying. She told him the horses got out (Gary left the gate open, she said…….eye roll……not falling for it). She had already shot and killed Gary then called Scott to come home and put the horses up. Scott drove all the way back home to find that the horses were fine. She set him up. She would have been the only person home that night with Gary so she lured Scott there and lied about the horses. She set up her own son.

When she shot him he may not have died & she may have threatened him to walk up the stairs to outside. He easily could have had drugs or poison in his system from a drink she gave him. Which would have made him unsteady or drop to the ground. She easily scooped him up in the tractor & placed him in the already burning pile. She was planning to get rid of him since he stopped her having free access to all that money. Selfish women with a greedy heart & soul. That poor man worked so hard to make her happy including taking her back after adultery. He should have divorced her years ago.

He didn’t have to run up the stairs, they had a walk-out basement. I think she shot him at the top of the stairs, he ran downstairs, and she shot him again (bullet in the basement) then he ran out the basement door.

When Rusty Barton said that Melody had told him that Gary was on the burn pile, didn't he also mention that she'd told him that the horses were out.
Melody phoned her son the night that Gary died asking him to attend the farm to put those horses back in. Therefore Rusty's recantation was a lie, because he originally stated that was also the night that Melody told him "He's on the burn pile"

I agree, too much speculation about how she would get the body out. She didn't need a dead husband; she had all the benefits staying married. My guess is that Scott did it. But I don't think we will ever know. The investigators didn't even search his home. Plus, he is just such a man-child. He wanted a free lunch. Three of the kids are moochers.
