From your local neighborhood mechanical engineer… Refrigerators reject heat into your kitchen as they make ice and, in this case, freeze the filter - more heat than the (evaporative) cooling provided by the chillwell. So if you want to heat up your kitchen, feeding ice into the chillwell and refreezing the filter is an excellent way to accomplish same! Additionally, the relative humidity in the space where the chillwell is located increases as the chillwell operates, which negates the (sensible) cooling provided by the chillwell. The net effect of the chillwell is sixfold - it heats, it humidifies, it increases your electric bill, it warms the planet, it adds plastic to the landfill (eventually), and it sends coins from your bank account into the bank accounts of everybody involved in getting the chillwell to your door.
THANK YOU for your honest review. I also saw a blend of vids. both good and bad, and came to the conclusion they must be getting paid as well. Thanks so much, I am on a limited income and I appreciate your integrity. God Bless. P.S. I wonder if dry ice would work better?? Has anbody thought to try it?
Wouldnt it work better if you put dry ice in it? You want to make sure its small cubes of druynice and it may bubble a bit in the water and create what looks like smoke, but its the water reaction to dry ice. If done properly, it may work. Or out dry ice i it without water 🤷♂️
Absolute Junk! I spent over $230 for two of these useless devices. First off, you literally have to be inches away from it to benefit from it and even then it's only the part of your' body that is directly in front of the fan that is cooled. The rest of my body was pouring sweat while my face received slight benefits from not the air blowing but the water you are being sprayed with. It didn't cool the room which stayed sweltering. It doesn't hold a charge. Once it shows that it has charged, you have about 10 minutes of working time before it shuts off. You have to plug it into an electrical source to get any substantial operational time out of it. However, they only provide you with the USB cord and not the plug that you need to plug it into an electrical source. Also, you have to keep filling the reservoir with water which dries out in an hour to an hour and a half. So you have to keep refilling it. Because of this, If you think you can have it all night while you sleep, you are wrong. It runs out of water and you wake up to hot air blowing on you. Absolute waste of money. I am very unhappy!!! Scam!
