I love how she appreciates and respects each woman's way of applying their make up. It's like even with all this experience she still likes to see and learn which is a wonderful quality.
I petition for Lisa to give us a studio tour! Like how these TH-camrs give us beauty room tours can we please get an exclusive tour of your studio pleassseee. Who's with me lol?
I've noticed how Lisa's videos are the only ones that I can go back and watch over and over and still manage to learn something new. It's a true talent to be able to be so educational that people can come back to the same video and pick up information they missed earlier.
Never seen a makeup artist so sophisticated , chic and inspiring like you are lisa...You're such a pleasure to watch .... absolutely in love with your channel
I think her look is the one that will be loved by all kind of women. Her make up accentuates beauty and celebrates femininity. Every girl in a while wants to become an Italian femme fatale. Thanks for tutorial, Lisa!
I honestly love how all of Lisa's page is so positive. I rarely ever see negative or harsh comments from the viewers, which I truly think is beautiful considering how there is so much negativity on social media. So uplifting
I really admire artists like Lisa, the pixiwoo sisters and Wayne goss as they never overdo trends and their makeup is always aimed at enhancing what's already there and not completely mask everything with 10 layers of makeup.Great job as always!
my favorite thing about this video, aside from the makeup, is the conversation they are having. it's more refreshing to have them chatting instead of having a silent model.
This is the best I've ever seen Huda Kattan look! The brows are finally natural, the lips aren't overlined anymore. I hope she continues doing this in the future! Lisa, you're a genius!
Lisa your videos always get me so excited about makeup in general and the rich history behind them. You are wonderful, your deep knowledge of makeup is evident in every video, I love how incredibly well-researched this and your other videos are. I would agree that makeup runs through your veins! Cheers, Lydia
I m a doctoral student in cardiology , i m supposed to be a geek not caring about my look and only talking about science but i have been following and wathching your videos for years now ...i used to live in France and when you did that french pharmacy skincare products i went and bought almost all the products because i trusted you and i was not wrong, i still use them till today :) . I love the way you made me see makeup . I learned with you over the years how to look beautiful, delicate and feminin without stacking layers and layers of products but with applying the right amounts at the right places... i learned how to be beautiful and intelligent at the same time . Thank you Lisa for all the knowledge you bring to us and for giving all women the opportunity to learn how to be beautiful. Greetings from Switzerland . xoxo
Huda is a gorgeous woman. This is her best look imo. Lisa knows how to enhance with such natural artistry! another glam tutorial for us to bask in! thanks Lisa!
Gorgeous look on a beautiful model - fantastic seeing Loren's iconic make-up recreated. One actress whose make-up was incredible in the 1960s was Claudia Cardinale. Very experimental and absolutely stunning.
this was just WOW !!! i am a professional makeup artist from India.. I have seen each and every video of yours for over 10 times... I don't know if you will get to read this but i have to thank you as roughly "4" years back i saw your video on youtube for the first time and it just changed something in me... i was always good with sketching and things and extremely affected by the Beauty, feel and essence of skincare or cosmetics. But then within a month i started with editorial and bridal work.. i just took the plunge to follow my dream.. And today it feels like i have never been without it. Thanks for putting your work out here to inspire so many like me
I love the dark lid without the darker crease. I find this look so flattering for my deep set eyes, especially paired with winged eyeliner. This is very inspiring, thank you.
Whatever you think of their different techniques and approaches to makeup, you have to admit they are two of the sweetest women on youtube! I mean, look at Huda during the whole video, she looks like she's enjoying every second with a smile on her face! And Lisa is delightful as always, ofcourse :)
I feel like Lisa should invite famous (or infamous if you please) self-proclaimed TH-cam makeup "gurus" to her studio for a makeup look video on occasion. Whilst Lisa is filming the videos/making up their faces, her techniques and simplicity may subconsciously bring them to the realization that one does not have to resort to such drastic drag-queen methods to teach young TH-cam-viewers how to "properly apply" makeup. I understand that makeup does not have any rules, and everyone can use it however he or she may like. Though with saying that, in my opinion, seeing an authentic makeup professional at work could humble and influence these "gurus" to tone down far too drastic looks in their future videos. Lisa and other real professionals ARE professionals for a reason, after all! :)
Gorgeous to see this tutorial! I was actually hoping you would do this after reading your book. It's funny, because I showed my dad your book (he's not interested in make up at all) and he immediately asked if Sophia Loren was in it, so I looked for her and yes, there she was! So then we started talking about her and different icons of that time. My point is, that she is so iconic and has such an incredible signature look that even people who don't look for it, remember it! I love Face Paint so much, because I can now go through time and see all the icons and trends of that time. I adore make up and history, so it is so great to have it both in one book now. Thank you for writing it and sharing your passion! It is really clear from the book how much time you've put in it and how much you love it!
So refreshing to see a clean and natural base on Huda really emphasising her natural beauty. Always admire and am mesmerised by your work Lisa ; truly an icon ✨
what a huge difference in what we see every day nowadays,is amazingly beautiful ,powerful yet wearable Huda looks way better than when she does herself, artistry at it best Lisa !!
My heart just stopped for a second when I saw name of the video! Such a classy look on such beautiful woman and such a warm feminine conversation... Loved everything about this video!
it's really refreshing to see classic and timeless looks. i love watching your looks because everything is so flawless without being too much, and i don't think i'll ever tire of seeing historical recreations. facepaint inspired me like nothing else. thanks for being an amazing makeup muse!
omg the natural skin look is my favourite thing about Lisa's work as well!! It's like magic! It is honestly the no. 1 thing I try to emulate when I'm doing my makeup but it's still hard to get it looking so natural and flawless
This is one of my favorite colabs so far! I just love the conversation and to hear some more of how Lisa got into makeup. I also love the mix of Lisas sophisticated and discrete, beauty enhancing style of doing makeup with Hudas glamorous and vivacious makeup ways - as I love both styles this is a true dream to see the mix of both. Thank you so much for this one ladies!!
+vanessa ray I think in one of her videos she shows us her brown eyes. She looks totally different, but still beautiful! ALso if you google you should be able to find some photos.
I can't even right now!!!! This is seriously one of my favorite collaborations! Lisa is truly amazing! I absolutely love her work. She is hands down my favorite makeup artist for an array of reasons. Then there is Huda who is gorgeous and one of my favorite Instagram beauty gurus! Add a Sophia Loren inspired look and I'm seriously stoked! Sophia Loren is one of my favorite actresses and has that iconic look I admire so much! I watch pretty much every Sophia Loren inspired makeup video. This one is my favorite! Flawless and beautiful!!
My God. Is this stunning or what?! I feel like it's a modernized version of Sophia Loren. And what fun conversation in between. We DEFINITELY need to see The House of Eldridge studio now!!
From the creativity and attention to Sophia's detail in the application to the appreciation of the transformation into Sophia from the beautiful model. Oh and the cute chemistry Lisa and Huda share. All of this leaves me in awe. Bravo beautiful ladies 👏🏻
oh gosh, what a stunning look and i love it when you talk with your guests. Huda is so gorgeous. also, the pattern of the liners and shadows on your hand is so beautiful! i want fabric like that :)
Huda looks effortlessly glamorous. Lisa Eldridge is the only makeup artist I can watch on youtube these days because she is incredibly skilled and doesn't push products on her viewers like some used car sales person. She understands that makeup is an art and proves it through her work. The purpose of makeup is not to use every product on your vanity; it's to enhance one's natural beauty, which she obviously understands. I also appreciate that she doesn't fall prey to makeup "trends" that do not always work on everyone. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with us Lisa!
Huda was lovely. I loved the interaction between her & Lisa. It was great to hear them both chat and getting to know both of them. I really enjoyed this.
This is definitely one of those looks that doesn't completely come together until you have everything going at once. Once you finished the lip it was just perfection. Love this, Love Sophia.
+EvonWahab As soon as I saw the thumbnail my heart fluttered. I knew it was Huda. This was so enjoyable to see two of my favorite people together. About the makeup what can I say? Perfection was achieved :)
I appreciate your fastidiousness, Lisa. It makes the difference between good makeup application and outstanding application. It also allows for wearing dramatic looks without looking clownish or overdone.
I think Huda is more of a make up enthusiast than an actual expert (unless it's eyelashes, and I love her eyelash sets and admire her business sense, so no hate here at all). I've watched a few of her tutorials and I am not the biggest fan of her techniques, not for myself personally, eventhough we share an ethnicity. She's lovely looking, but she tends to over-emphasize her lips, and over-contour her face the way too many amateur youtube make-up gurus do...it gives the face an overly made-up/fake effect that is so commonplace these days, a 'nightclub glamour' look if you will (nothing wrong with that if you're into it, it's been the hot trend for a few years now thanks to Kim K, Kylie Jenner, etc). I feel like Lisa and Wayne Goss are two make up gurus I've found so far whose looks and techniques I find absolutely flawless, sophisticated, polished, and more in line with 'red-carpet glamour'. They just come off as very professional and extremely detailed and particular overall, they are true artists who actually work with women's faces, rather than piggyback on make up trends. I could use cheap make up and still come out looking like a million bucks when I follow their techniques...best of all, I still look like ME instead of disappearing into a sea of Kim K clones (no, seriously, that's what happened when I once tried over-contouring/over-bronzing/over glossing/over lining, etc...my own face was so lost under all that drama and I couldn't wait to wash it all off). I'm still a beginner, quite new to make up, and I can't express enough appreciation for the real 'face' gurus like Lisa and Wayne.
you just summed up everything i had to say!! im sad bc huda is a good business woman as well as being an inspiration to arab and iraqi women out there but the trends she (as well as all make up 'gurus' out there) follows are embarrassing, especially when compared to the delicate, detailed and meticulous yet effortless way lisa applies make up.
what a mature realistic yet respectful summary of today reality couldn't agree more with you there's a lot more to mention ; Bobbi Brown Charlotte T.and others wich I don't mention afraid to misspell their names ;)
Lisa Eldrige is classy, Sophia Loren's looks are classy too. Huda is more mainstream, she loves cake faces and injected-looking lips, that's why she doesn't like classic classy looks.
Ruth Mejia Thank you! I do like Bobbi Brown :) As for Charlotte T., I just discovered her tutorials today. I've never tried her products. I had high hopes, but the one thing I do not like is her overuse of highlights and alot of illuminating skin make-up piled on top of each other. Alot of her looks have too much shine for my liking. It's not a healthy-dewy sort of gleam, but a thick, glossy one. I was ready to splurge on her very expensive 'bronze + glow' kit just a few days ago, thinking that it would be more polished and refined looking compared to the less expensive high-street brands. But after watching a few of her tutorials where she used it, I'm glad that my money will be spent elsewhere :D
This was impeccable Lisa. My eyes were glued to every motion you were making while blending the eye look. I love how you always share such incredible insights on makeup history, I am always learning something new from you. I absolutely enjoy how you do the base so naturally, that contouring catches the eye, and highlights the bone structure without looking overdone. I definitely want to get my hands on the Huda Beauty Lashes because they look so gorgeous on everyone, unfortunately, cannot get it in India. :(
i loved huda because she was actually interested in lisa and asked so many questions so we got to know her better as well instead of just sitting there silently, so much more interesting!!
My cousin's mom was Sophia Loren's first cousin and i can still see the total resemblance on my cousins facial features, its an honor to share the bond with Sophia in my opinion :)
Huda is absolutly adorable, I love her smile, really full of kindness ❤ I really liked to see you two interract with each other and the makeup you did on her was perfect 👌
So refreshing to see makeup that enhances beauty rather than caked on and gaudy. To each their own, but in my opinion, this is true make up artistry.
amen!
That's why I love her videos, she's a true artist.
👍👍👏👏 so true.....
hear hear!
Finally I've found people who understand that and really just appreciate makeup
I think we should create a Lisa team or something)
I love how she appreciates and respects each woman's way of applying their make up. It's like even with all this experience she still likes to see and learn which is a wonderful quality.
I petition for Lisa to give us a studio tour! Like how these TH-camrs give us beauty room tours can we please get an exclusive tour of your studio pleassseee. Who's with me lol?
Amin!
I was thinking the same thing!! If lots of people thumbs up, maybe Lisa will see it and consider it 😊
+iiNDiie1 Oh a tour would be wonderful.
I second that! It would be AMAZING to check out her "digs" as they used to say.😄
Yes please. Would love to see where all the magic and inspiration takes pls. Eeeek hudu looked amazing she kept that hush meeting the talented Lisa
I've noticed how Lisa's videos are the only ones that I can go back and watch over and over and still manage to learn something new. It's a true talent to be able to be so educational that people can come back to the same video and pick up information they missed earlier.
I love your infusion of makeup history into your tutorials. So interesting and always so beautiful.
+C&J Nutrition aw thank you, I'm passionate about the history of makeup... its my hobby! X
+Lisa Eldridge Please do a Rita Hayworth look!
Never seen a makeup artist so sophisticated , chic and inspiring like you are lisa...You're such a pleasure to watch .... absolutely in love with your channel
+Zay nab thanks so much for your lovely comment x
agree, and you are beautiful too.
I think her look is the one that will be loved by all kind of women. Her make up accentuates beauty and celebrates femininity. Every girl in a while wants to become an Italian femme fatale. Thanks for tutorial, Lisa!
+Almatynka yes we all love a little of that Italian femme fatale/la dolce vita look : ) X
Isn't it just gorgeous! Lisa is honestly just a genius and stunning with makeup on herself and every single one of her clients! Love it!
My mother in law looks just like that and she's 55. She's Italian, of course ☺
I LOVE when Lisa starts talking makeup history.... utterly intriguing. I could listen to her for hours.
Huda seems like a very nice person. Also Lisa you never stop amazing me, this look is so gorgeous and elegant, it has a timeless appeal.
+oriana rojas yes she is very lovely, self effacing and a real girls girl if you know what I mean. We had a lot of fun X
my favorite thing about this video, aside from the makeup, is the conversation they are having. it's more refreshing to have them chatting instead of having a silent model.
Yes! Huda looks beautiful and has such a sweet personality. I'm so glad you have diverse faces on your channel, Lisa. Keep it up x
This is the best I've ever seen Huda Kattan look! The brows are finally natural, the lips aren't overlined anymore. I hope she continues doing this in the future! Lisa, you're a genius!
I would absolutely love if you would do a Priscilla Presley makeup tutorial!

This is the best Huda has ever looked. Magic Lisa.
Lol, Huda always looks beautiful !
Glitter Nails i so agree
So true
I really like Huda watch her for years BUT NEVER EVER HAVE SEEN HER MORE BEAUTIIFUL AND CHARMING
Lisa your videos always get me so excited about makeup in general and the rich history behind them. You are wonderful, your deep knowledge of makeup is evident in every video, I love how incredibly well-researched this and your other videos are. I would agree that makeup runs through your veins! Cheers, Lydia
+Lydia A thanks Lydia x
So true! Lisa is my favorite makeup artist exactly for this reason. She's the best
I really wish Huda could have ditched the colored contacts for this look but it still looks very beautiful
This eye look is so flattering on Huda's deep eyes. So beautiful
Huda makes a great Sophia Loren!
+Helena Thornton yes she does X
I love that Huda is not introduced as an Instagram celebrity, Lisa simply said she was a model.
+Shubina thats a lovely story! Thanks for posting it here and congratulations on your success X
She's absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I love her dark hair, because it contrasts so nicely with her grey-ish, bluey-green eyes.
I love the dark lid without the darker crease. I find this look so flattering for my deep set eyes, especially paired with winged eyeliner. This is very inspiring, thank you.
OMG Huda Kattan from Huda Beauty!? She's so cheerful and sweet, I loved her! What a rockstar. Thank you ladies! Great video!
lisa´s hand by the end looks like a piece of modern art!!!
+Digmer I thought so too!! xx
Whatever you think of their different techniques and approaches to makeup, you have to admit they are two of the sweetest women on youtube! I mean, look at Huda during the whole video, she looks like she's enjoying every second with a smile on her face! And Lisa is delightful as always, ofcourse :)
Hands down best make up channel on TH-cam. I'm so happy u explain the artistry!
Haha, I love all the makeup on Lisa's hand. A sign of a true artist!
The best makeup I've ever seen on huda tbh
This colab just proved me how humble you are Lisa . Much love for you ❤️
Gorgeous to see this tutorial! I was actually hoping you would do this after reading your book. +A Blackbird's Books What a lovely story, thanks for sharing. Im so happy you (and your dad) love my book X
I really like how the eyebrows have been make-uped. It looks refined without looking too strong and painted on!
The look on Huda's face when Lisa is doing her foundation and blush is the look of pure bliss. I'm jealous.
Absolutely love this look, and the chat. Sophia Loren is the ultimate beauty in my eyes, a true star. They don't make 'em like that anymore!
True , there are no stars anymore , only celebs. Wich is not the same thing.
omg the natural skin look is my favourite thing about Lisa's work as well!! It's like magic! It is honestly the no. 1 thing I try to emulate when I'm doing my makeup but it's still hard to get it looking so natural and flawless
Honestly, I love huda beauty lashes but I always hate hudas make up. I've never seen her look more beautiful than this video!
Huda would be perfect for Amy Winehouse's iconic look also.
Omg yes!
I couldn't keep my eyes off her eyes. She is STUNNING
You know they are contacts lenses don't u??
Rosé i really don't believe they're contacts thought, i saw her youtube videos and they are the same. they're def hers.
I had the same, but they are contacts, but good ones : )
This is one of my favorite colabs so far! I just love the conversation and to hear some more of how Lisa got into makeup. without the makeup I think she looks like Angelina Jolie
that is exactly what I was thinking I mean without her makeup she looked so much like Angelina Jolie!
no one does a sexy effortless yet classic beauty look like you do lisa! already obsessed
Huda and Lisa, what an incredible team 😍😍 Such inspiring women - absolutely loved this!!! x
Your voice is so calming, not to talk about how much talent you have
Lisa can do no wrong.. It's got to the point now where it's....
Lisa: "Hi, today I'm going to..."
Me: *clicks like button*.
:-)
I'm dying to see Huda w/out contacts. I bet she's even more beautiful w/ brown eyes!
I completely I agree with you!
she showed her eyes a few times in her videos, but she can't see very well without them.
She has posts on her blog sans contacts!
+vanessa ray I think in one of her videos she shows us her brown eyes. She looks totally different, but still beautiful! ALso if you google you should be able to find some photos.
What? She wears contact? Damn her contact must be expensive. I didn't notice it
Lisa, I think your studio will one day become a museum! This video was everything, darling! xoxo
Add a Sophia Loren inspired look and I'm seriously stoked! the makeup is stunning and Huda is gorgeous! wonderful job, Lisa. You are truly an amazing artist!

sona. you are here. i love lisa and i love you too!
I CAN'T WITH THIS LOOK, OMG LISA YOU'RE A GENIUS!!!!
My God. Is this stunning or what?! I feel like it's a modernized version of Sophia Loren. And what fun conversation in between. We DEFINITELY need to see The House of Eldridge studio now!!
I could listen to you all day! you're so tranquil.
From the creativity and attention to Sophia's detail in the application to the appreciation of the transformation into Sophia from the beautiful model. Oh and the cute chemistry Lisa and Huda share. All of this leaves me in awe. Bravo beautiful ladies 👏🏻

This woman (Huda) is adorable besides gorgeous.. (most of people Lisa invites are adorable.. sweet souls)
Sophia Loren is seriously one of the most beautiful actresses ever! I love her!!!! And you did such an amazing job with this look! 💗
oh gosh, what a stunning look and i love it when you talk with your guests.
Huda is so beautiful! This makeup is beautiful as well.
I love when you bring in guests like Huda - she's so inspiring! And you, Lisa, are so chic and sophisticated... love watching you apply makeup. ♥
Sophisticated makeup! It's absolutely wearable..plus, Middle Eastern beauty is breathtaking; excellent choice of the model!
Huda was lovely. I loved the interaction between her & Lisa. It was great to hear them both chat and getting to know both of them. I really enjoyed this.
What a beautiful model... stunning makeup too.
I love that when you teach us, you really TEACH us! Not just how to apply the makeup, but the history as well. I soak up every one of your videos!
Is that her without makeup in the beginning? 😱 she is beautiful!
This is definitely one of those looks that doesn't completely come together until you have everything going at once. Once you finished the lip it was just perfection. Love this, Love Sophia.
PLEASE DO A STUDIO TOUR!!! The idea just to my mind when Huda talks about your studio and it's great so many people under have the same idea!
Loved the chatty aspect of this video. Two lovely ladies letting their personalities shine!
omg my fav two people in one video!
+EvonWahab As soon as I saw the thumbnail my heart fluttered. I knew it was Huda. This was so enjoyable to see two of my favorite people together. About the makeup what can I say? Perfection was achieved :)
now my 3 favorite people 😉💋
I appreciate your fastidiousness, Lisa. It makes the difference between good makeup application and outstanding application. It also allows for wearing dramatic looks without looking clownish or overdone.
Your hand looks like a palette, you are an amazing artist!
Oh my goodness, Huda is so beautiful! The nose scrunch at the beginning--so natural and effortless!
Huda looks so much younger in this video. Even before she had any makeup on. Must be he Lisa effect. Absolutely stunning
OMG stunning! Lisa as the artist and Huda as model. Sophia done total justice 👍💕🌹

Great comment!
I totally agree with what you said.
what a mature realistic yet respectful summary of today reality couldn't agree more with you there's a lot more to mention ; Bobbi Brown Charlotte T.and others wich I don't mention afraid to misspell their names ;)
Goodness, the two of you are so timeless, and I'm so excited to see you two working together!
Lisa, you're one of the world's finest artists, truly.
That model is drop-dead gorgeous. First video of yours I'm watching - very nice. Excellent work.
i loved huda because she was actually interested in lisa and asked so many questions so we got to know her better as well instead of just sitting there silently, so much more interesting!!
Her eyes are gorgeous. SHE'S gorgeous.
Contacts !!
Awesome collaboration!!! And once it changed to black and white, it was so striking!!! Absolutely love Sofia Loren!
