I completely understand where the cat lady was coming from. A few months ago I had to put my dog down and didn’t have the finances to have him privately cremated or anything. Leaving his body at my local vet clinic was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, and I definitely did feel the need to go back to give him a proper burial. I don’t think that that lady had anything sinister in mind, she was just missing her friend.
Late late late reply, but 100% agree. I cannot believe that THAT was the big “spooky” story that has stuck w this person for years. She was prob up late, mourning her cat, & decided she was going to go get her baby right then and bury it. That person was NOT at the right job if she didn’t understand how much a pet can mean to someone. Didn’t see anything “crazy” or “scary” about it that she wanted to bury her cat and not have it thrown into a landfill by them eventually. And what a job. I love night shifts and animals, Ntm I know how to relate to ppl that have lost an animal that they were close to. Plus it paid well. Which is unheard of for those types of jobs where I live. Yet a person who thinks a grieving pet owner is a terrifying FREAK gets an awesome job like that 😒. Not frickin fair. Also I’m sorry abt the loss of your dog 😥. Even if it’s been years since I’ve lost my dog, I still miss them so much.
I have worked graveyard for almost 3 years now and I have been been listening to let's read , mrcreepypasta and mrcreeps every night at work for the last year and a half. You should see some of the looks and comments i get. Had one person literally ask me if I work nights at the gas station because I'm a serial killer lol. I just looked at him and said well you never know.
20 years ago, I had a cat named hank and one named Ashes. They both contracted Feline leukemia and passed within hours of each other. It was January in upper Wisconsin so the ground was too frozen to bury them so instead I put them in bags and vacuum sealer. I then placed them in the tool shed in a freezer we didnt use. Spring rolled around and I have some friends with kids over and the kids are checking everything out and taking turns on my four wheelers. Then we hear screaming. One of the kids opened the deep freeze and found the cats. Sadly so much had gone on that I had totally forgotten they were there. So we had a funeral and buried them but that poor kid had nightmares for weeks.
This is why I scatter ppls teeth around in my drawers n medicine cabinet n glove box n places like that..sometimes some spent casings. That is usually a terrific deterrent.

I worked night shifts for years as a nurse! I have a story to share that terrified me driving home one night on a back country road! I’ll have to share it sometime!
Here is my story I am a female driving home from the hospital around 3am. I am a nurse and was working partial nights. I came around a corner and saw an older man walking with a cane. Bit creepy in the fog at 3am but my gut told me not to stop. Immediately afterwards a man wearing a hockey mask (think Jason from Friday the 13th) swinging a bat suddenly appeared trying to block the road. I just pushed down on the accelerator figuring whatever criminal sentence I picked up would be better than sticking around for this guys party of one!! So creepy!!! He jumped out of the way and I called 911. The rest of the way home I felt like he was on my car somewhere somehow so irrational but so traumatizing.
The story about the cat is extremely horrifying. That is one of the scariest things that I have ever heard. There is no way that I would ever be able to work for an animal shelter where animals are euthanized. I would only have an animal put down if it were in severe pain and I would have a difficult time doing that. I find it strange that people put down animals at the drop of a hat, but object to people ending their lives if they have a painful, terminal illness.
There is, of course, a line people cross when it comes to the care, or lack thereof, of animals. They are after all, at the mercy of us sinful humans. However I believe there is a time and place for the euthanasia of an animal. Sometimes it is the responsible, caring thing to do. I don't think my best little buddy would appreciate months or years on medication. thats not a good life for a dog.
@Racer X | I have the album Razor's Edge on cassette in my $150 1995 1/2 Dodge Caravan. Always blasting that tape when I'm cruising at night on a long drive.
Some of them are. Some are too broken to be fixed. Just like people who have gone through so much that they are completely and utterly broken. Fortunately that's not the case for most. But there are some that are hopeless. It's sad but true.
Great video. Thank you. The night shift stories are really creepy. In the story where the manager and the cops were looking on CCTV footage for a man who they didn’t see enter or leave was wierd. I think the man was a ghost/spirit.
🖤 This is my true, creepy story about my encounter with a super weird customer whenever i worked overnights at a Mobil gas station right by my house. This happened about a year/year and a half ago. And it's the exact reason why i refuse to ever work overnight at ANY job i ever work at, ever again! Sorry it's so long, just wanted to share it with my favorite horror story narrator here on TH-cam, Let's Read is my all time favorite scary story narrator on here. I've been such a huge fan, and religiously watch all of his videos, and have been for the last 2-3 years! I'm always right on top of watching/listening to his newest uploads every time he uploads! I just drop everything im doing and lay down n my big, comfy bed and get all snuggly under my blankets and throw my headphones in, and listen to Let's Read's nice, and soothing voice. 🖤 😂😂👍🏼 It was like somewhere around 12-2 AM, and the overnight security we had had just left an hour before this happened. Over nights there was always a security guard, who was usually an actual police officer just not technically on duty, but not off duty either? I dunno how to really explain that, lol. But the officer had left and told us all good luck for the rest of the night, and that if we needed anything at all to just give him a call and hell come back and help out with whatever it is we needed help with. But, it was about midnight or somewhere after that I think, if i remember correctly. And the parking lot was completely empty, just a few cars coming in and out every 20-30 mins or so, to either get some gas, or to come in and get some midnight snacks and drinks. So, its just me and another co-worker, and he was in the back of the store in the soda cooler, so i was all alone to hold down the front counter and the lobby of the store while he finished filling up/stocking the coolers for the shift. And COMPLETLY outta no where, this older man comes into the store, he had long nappy, greasy gray hair about down to his shoulders, he was wearing a dirty, worn out, tattered black AC/DC T-shirt, with dirty, stained khaki pants. He walked around the store for a few mins, and then walked to the back towards the mens bathroom, went inside and was literally in the bathroom for about 30-45 mins. I had almost forgotten that he was even still inside of the store bcus he was in there for so long, and i had like 2-3 customers come in after he went to the bathroom, so i was somewhat occupied with other things and other people to think about that dirty old man n the bathroom... So, he finally comes out of the bathroom after nearly an hour of doing god knows what in there, and again walks around the front of the store super slowly, and just really off... I remember immediatly getting a super creepy, and eerie vibe from this man, like i could potentially end up in some sort of danger, or he would do something to harm me. I can't fully explain what exactly i was feeling in that moment, I just remember feeling extremely scared and on edge the entire time he was walking oddly slow thru the store.. He finally walks outside, after being inside of our store for a total of almost over an hour, without purchasing anything at all, not even getting a free cup of water or ice... Just came inside, went to the bathroom for forever, walked around the isles super slowly and eerie, then walked out the front door. About another hour had passed since the man had came inside, and my coworker was in the back office taking care of some paper work that needed to be finished before the end of our shift, and i was yet again, alone up front. But i didn't mind and had nearly forgotten about the old man, that is before he walks up to the front door, grabs onto the door handle like he was gonna come inside, and just holds onto it... staring deeply into my eyes with the most terrifying, crazed look I've ever seen on somebody's face before.. I yelled out, "Sir? Can i help you with anything? Is everything okay..?" And he doesn't say a word back to me... Just continues to stare blankly at me just frozen with his hand on the handle of the front door. So, I turned around to stock up some of the cigarettes and tried not to let this man know or see that I'm truly terrified and scared absolutley shitless. I then hear the chime of the front door being opened, and turn around to see the man standing inches away from me on the other side of the counter still with the same scary, terrifying look on his face... I didn't even hear him walk inside the store, but he made it from the door, over to the counter within a second, literally, without me hearing the slightest shuffle of his shoes walking on the floor... I gasped loudly, and dropped the carton of cigarettes i was holding when i seen him standing right there in front of me. I backed up a step or two and he let's out the most terrifying cackle laugh I've ever heard, EVER. I was just frozen in the spot i was standing in, out of pure fear and terror. I was shaking, just thinking about what the hell this mans intentions were. Was he going to try and rob us? Was he going to try to come around the counter and get back to me? And if he did end up getting back behind the counter, what would he end up doing to me? Would he hurt me, or is this man just mentally not right and/or sick in the head? Either way, I was still completely frozen in fear n the same spot. He then suddenly stops laughing, looks at me for a second longer, and proceeds to turn around and just walk out of the store as if NOTHING had happened... I then run out from behind the counter to the back office where my coworker was, and asked him if he had heard or seen anything at all on the computer monitor thru the cameras? And he said no, he had his freaking headphones in while working on paperwork... I was clearly all shaken up, and on the verge of crying when he asks me what happened. I told him everything, and he comes out to the front with me and let me step outside to smoke a cigarette since my entire body was still shaking, trembling with pure fear and horror. I had never in my life ever had something so random, yet so terrifying happen to me before. It doesn't sound all that scary or like it's that big of a deal, but when you're a very thin, tall woman standing face to face with some weirdo who just bursts out laughing so eerily and horrifyingly, while just staring at you inches away from being able to reach out and touch you, AND you're all alone to deal with that..., Yeah, it's definitely a super creepy situation to be involved in... I stood right up against the front doors while smoking, hoping and praying that i wouldn't end up seeing that creepy old man ever again, and luckily, i never ended up coming across his presence ever again... Thank God! And after that night, i made sure that my boss took me off of working overnight shifts again.. bcus just that random, creepy occurrence i delt with that night, was more than enough for me to ever wanna go back to working so late at night. Its definitely true what they say, nothing good happens after the sun goes down. The creepiest and scariest people lurk the shadows so late at night, and nobody is usually up to any sort of good being out at 2-4 AM...
I work the night shift 11-7 at a factory and nothing remotely scary ever happens. Just boring the hardest part is staying awake. I think the old man had dementia that's why he had that crazy stare and laugh.
The one at 23:00 wasn't honestly that weird to me. What did creep me out though was the way the guy separated the two frozen animals. I feel like that was ten levels of not right.
The sweet old lady in the 2nd story smiled and didn't bother when that old hag was being mean to her because she knew as soon as she passed she was going to haunt her 😈😈😈
I made the mistake of listening to this while working my night shift at a gas station. Im already jumpy as it is lol. Very good stories and narration, though. I love to listen to all the stories while I'm working or relaxing at home.
I love night shift, it is nice working somewhere when it is quiet, although I have had my share of strange things happen in the wee hours of the morning
What's scary about the cat story? A distraught woman had to put her cat down then wanted to bury the body. Sure, it's slightly weird she came by at night, but grief makes you act erratically sometimes.
The cat lady was just heartbroken 💔 even if she didn’t seem like she was “all there”. Honestly, the narrator describing how they went to help the lady “just wanting to get her out of there” was a bit callous. However, this has me hoping in the future I never have to euthanize my cats. I can’t imagine my babies in a drum barrel 🥺😢
The one story that started with laughing at ghosts and monsters etc... People don't scare me. You can fight a person. You can in extreme cases, kill, a person in self defense. You cannot kill a ghost, or fight it. That's why the idea of ghosts are far scarier to me.
I've been doing only nightshifts for 5 years now . Had only one creepy event. I went out for a smoke at 2-3 am . We had those motion sensing lights. As I didn't move it went out . When I waved my arm to trigger it , all of a sudden there was a black cat right in front of me , sitting and looking into my eyes. It ran off , but it creeped me out quite a bit . To be honest I work alone in a mental residential home , I'm pretty much immune to most scary events .
Just curious, but are you a fan of Umami? I couldn't help notice that your opening animation with the earth panning over space to the cosmonaut looks very reminiscent of his art as well, perhaps you used the same art style or program as him? Sorry I'm so late to type a comment here 3 years after this video... Always love your content and will never stop watching your excellent videos my guy!
Nothing worse then working midnight's in the summer when kids are out of school and you have no blackout curtains cause you're girlfriend hates the room being dark as holy hell, and of course living next to a couple that have summertime events in their backyard all the time.

I like all these story themes, but paranormal ones are my favorite.
I love the artwork
Great, fresh stories!! Best voice! Thank you!
It was like somewhere around 12-2 AM, and the overnight security we had had just left an hour before this happened.
I love this topic cuz i work the night shift!
Huge fan of your channel❤️
The sweet old lady in the 2nd story smiled and didn't bother when that old hag was being mean to her because she knew as soon as she passed she was going to haunt her 😈😈😈
Thank you, Lets Read! ❤😊
This is weird. For the last couple of days I’ve been watching other narration channels “night shift stories” and hoping that you would make one soon..
Serendipity
Creepypasta "monkey branching" haha
Ah just in time, now I can draw and listen to some spoopy stories from my favorite channel 🙃
I was already doing just that.
I recently transferred from night shift to day shift and let me tell you something it feels amazing having a regular sleep schedule
Im faded, at work, listening to this, love that 🤤
Rommelkrieger Göth lmaoooo facts being faded and listening to this is the best thing ever
I made the mistake of listening to this while working my night shift at a gas station. Im already jumpy as it is lol.
Very good stories and narration, though. I love to listen to all the stories while I'm working or relaxing at home.
Excellent stories and so creepy
I love night shift, it is nice working somewhere when it is quiet, although I have had my share of strange things happen in the wee hours of the morning
What's scary about the cat story? A distraught woman had to put her cat down then wanted to bury the body. Sure, it's slightly weird she came by at night, but grief makes you act erratically sometimes.
Best thing to hear as I’m headed to my night shift
Night shift jobs are the reason why Ive started investing into powerful flashlights. Its actually become a grear hobby of mine.
story 2:
"I don't believe in spirits."
*proceeds to tell 3 stories that can easily be related to spirits*
That Pete story was weird. That it made that much of an impact on the guy. I meet people like that Weekly
Night shift at my last job was a horror story all in itself
what went down?
How, can you tell us
I listen to A LOT of horror narration but Let’s Read has got to be my favorite. The quality, voice, comfort and quantity is hard to beat.
, so soothing this voice. ❤️
I love your voice so much like I'm in a hotel right now and my brother is being an ass with the TV volume and I can barely hear it ❤❤❤
The cat lady was just heartbroken 💔 even if she didn’t seem like she was “all there”. Honestly, the narrator describing how they went to help the lady “just wanting to get her out of there” was a bit callous. However, this has me hoping in the future I never have to euthanize my cats. I can’t imagine my babies in a drum barrel 🥺😢
Great stories
Story #6 was ESPECIALLY spooky. I would want to quit immediately.
Amazing as always
Perfect video to listen to while working the night shift
I love your videos!!! I would love to hear a "midnight man ritual" video. I think that would be super interesting.
venefica aure This Would Be Incredibly Interesting!
Listened 3/4/22 6:37am 🇬🇧
I totally enjoyed it, as usual! You're the man! 💪👍👏 Keep them coming!

Awesome vid, I love your narration :)
That voiceeeee 😻
I was having lunch while listening to this and the cat story made me almost throw up, wasn’t ready for that
The one story that started with laughing at ghosts and monsters etc...
I listen to these night shift stories.. while working the night shift o.O
why the third story?? you may want to put up a trigger warning for detailing ripping dead animal bodies apart :( was crying for hours
Nice upload
LOVE these stories!!!
Yeesssss. Love seeing your name pop up in my notifications!
Sp00ky NayNay innit
Love the intro
Yay, new vid!!! 🖤🖤🖤🥰
You have the best story’s
love ur content
Nothing worse then working midnight's in the summer when kids are out of school and you have no blackout curtains cause you're girlfriend hates the room being dark as holy hell, and of course living next to a couple that have summertime events in their backyard all the time.
I wonder if people just click on random videos to dislike for no reason.
Some legitimately don't like the video. Don't judge.
Love your videos
Love this channel...let's read is amongst the best!!!...does anyone out there know whatever happened to phantom librarian????...I need answers,he seemed to just drop off...if he left us don't tell me...I'd rather just think TH-cam bs was just too much to deal with....
