That equipment sitting at the mall was us getting ready to plow. The mall has a couple of their own pickups with plows so we only go after larger snowfalls (not cheap for us to come lol) and overnight when the mall is closed (about 7-9 hours to go around the whole thing). I saw you over plowing the lot across the street! Small world! Keep up the great work, love the videos! Be sweet to meet you someday
I run a hard plastic on my wings instead of that soft rubber and it prevents it from skipping.. You can usually Find a local Plastic supplier and get that 1in thick plastic very cheap
Hey C. I have the same set up and same issue. My dealer suggested that I adjust the rubber cutting edges and it eliminated that hopping issue. Give it a try. Took me about 20 mins.
The local boss dealer that I just talked to about this about a week ago said that the dxt has a dual trip edge system that once it starts hopping causes a vibration that keeps it hopping. He used some bolts and made the one trip edge fixed and it cleared up the issue mostly
@@CarsonSchifsky yea he said its because boss has their plows rolled forward for better cutting where as fisher/western rolls theirs back (talking about the angle of the cutting edge to the ground) that the boss's bite better for scraping but it also can cause that vibration issue on less than idea ground ie: rough blacktop
We had to put new cutting edge with new runners for our wings then let them cut down together... we have noticed on littler snow the wings chatter a lot... we just switch to wester wide out and Absolutely love them... good luck
Hey bro. Question. I got new wings on my VXT. I noticed they are chattering when blades straight. They kinda like skip around. I believe it because the cutting edge on the wings aren’t worn down to the right angle and the entire blade skips around like how the windshield wiper does when there’s not enough water on window. Any fixes for this or it just has to wear down some to get that good angle. The are positioned perfectly so any more tinkering I think would be ineffective. Wdu think?
Wow. I just posted this before I watched your video. That’s crazy bro. Yeah so mines doing exactly that. Possibly from the light snow as well. Being as the plow doesn’t have that normal resistance and it jumps with little or light snow. Wdu think?
YA im thinking it was something to do with this lighter snow fall. The plow didnt have a lot of weight to keep it planted and the pavement was cold and dry underneath, no ice as "lubrication" so to speak. Thats my best guess because it worked fine before this event!
I have a friend that had the "skipping" issue on his 8.2 DXT with extensions. He solved it by trimming the back edge of the extension's rubber cutting edge. That way it is closer to flush with the ground the whole thickness (maybe more like 50 percent) of the cutting edge instead of just that back edge which was causing the chatter. I love boss, but it seems a little lazy on the design of that edge.
Trimming? How much you paid for these?, and you have to modify? This shit is getting old, Western or Boss. Chinese made products on plows/salt spreaders. Make it the right way or get out of the business.
Nice to see you have common sense not to make piles at the end of driveways. It amazes me why people do that all the time. Keep up the good work Carson and hopefully you actually get more than 3" so you can work that Ford. lol
If the metal on ur plow isnt outlasting the rubber..u have a geometry problem...and the skipping plays a role in that as well ..u may b coking across that because the plow is on a different truck..u may have to reposition the actual mount on the truck..I don't think u have a plow problem at all..hope this helps..go get em!!
On your shoes keep the shoes about 50% with the blade so you have equal of the weight on shoes & blade. So the blade not taking all the weight. Just stick with OEM wiper blades.
Running the shoes might have caused the scraping edges to wear differently and now without them they’re actually scraping with the full weight of the plow. Just an idea.
9.2 dxt boss plow on my 2019 f 350 srw. Diesel handles weight of plow fine. Bought wings once about 15 years ago for fisher. plow . Never buy again hassle

Another day, another donut!
Hey Carson. Nice video being brave in the cold no coat haha. Be safe
It’s not easy! I got one on the back seat though!
i use heated wiper blades from Everblades they work great. Very easy to hook up to the Ford trucks
New subscriber here. Great video. Gotta love the snow removal business
One of my favorites! Also best time of year to make new content! Thank you for subscribing!
Heated wipers! The best thing ever.

That might be the ticket once the rubber wears out

the cutting edge on the plow is worn more then the wings the hopping is the wings catching and popping
That’s what I’m thinking but I run them equal amount so how did they wear faster?!?
Sweet vid!
Thanks!
You should try the heated windshield wipers that Stanley has. Plus that neighboring company looks like a set up he would run.😂
A setup who would run?
Carson Schifsky Stanley

I’ve never heard that... that’s interesting though I’ll have to look into that!

Try putting your sun visors down when your wipers freeze up. This helps push the warm air from your defrosters back down towards your wipers.
This is a genius idea haha I gotta try this now
@@CarsonSchifsky let me know how it works out for you. It always works for me.
Do you use those everblade heated wiper blades when plowing?

Yep this was a light snow, that might be it
Carson Schifsky we might get a salting event tonight it’s pretty slow here in ohio this year...

I had that problem and as the wing wore in or evened out it went away
It’s strange tho these wings should be plenty wore in
@@CarsonSchifsky I also adjusted the shim in the middle of the a frame adjusting the rubber shim to change pitch of blade
What weather apps do you like to use on your phone.
Weather underground and my radar are the two best I’d say
How did you mount the strobe on the truck
Larsen equipment light mount
What monitor is that for the tuner?

Right! They said we were gonna get 12” 😂
That Case IH quad track be fun plow snow in.
Can get heated wiper blades

I’m thinking it could be a little bit of a different angle on this truck that would actually make perfect sense.
Putting a flap on the plow Will definitely help keep the snow off the windshield and build up on wipers
Ya I should probably think about that...
Run the heated wiper blades. I hear they’re a game changer.
Did I see a case quadtrac with a plow on that lot? 😳
Yes you did haha that things crazy!

I think you need to run the wings more

That could be it too, but last 2 snowfall it didn’t seem to do it. This is the third event without shoes

Are you the owner of the business?
Yep my older brother and I
Carson Schifsky Awesome man, Congrats on the success. Hard work pays off.
Yes it does!!
Adjust the rubber? More time and waisted, lost $$
Rubber on wings is probably throwing off the plow causing it to skip try something harder I hate when that happens to
Boss is junk. I'm sorry for you. It will cost you in the long run. Best of luck to you. Plow on sir.👍
We’ve been running boss for as long as I can remember always treated us well!
