Nice work young man! It is fun watching you grow your business. So many people wonder what our young people are going to with their lives. Watching you. I would say just fine!
Haha thanks Rick! I get all kinds of different looks and reaction when I talk to older people and tell them I’m not going to college, a lot of people do kind of just discredit you but then there are those like you that see behind it all and realize there’s a lot of work being done to make money and do something beneficial for everyone! Really appreciate that rick!
Have you tried fisher? If so why did you decide on western.....living here in Maine and fisher is made here in Rockland Maine, it’s our favorite, but, I’ve only owned fisher and they have proven damn near bulletproof
Thanks nick! I really appreciate hearing that! It takes a lot of time to make these and I’m always looking for ways to make them better! Anything you guys think I should do different don’t hesitate to say something!
If I may make a suggestion that tight property you should hsve that done with a Skidsteer would work the best` or something like a Ranger or Jeep Wranger.
Really like the "small" plow trucks you have over there! Here in sweden everyone would plow out even the slightest snowfall with a 25000+ lbs wheelloader! Question: is it possible to press down the full hydraulic Boss plows when backdragging? If so, it must have a huge advantage over the chain lift systems!
exactly what i thought! ive never watched it from that angle before and realized how much slides through, it does work good for taking huge swipes on big piles of snow, probably not the best cleanup/ detail wing
Great video Carson. We got hammered up here in Ontario and have -30 wind chill in effect. I have the same truck you do except mine has the extended cab, so a little longer turning circle. I don't use wings and v-plows. Just a straight blade that's wider than my mirrors. That way I could do a driveway as narrow as the one you hate and still not knock my mirrors off. You're right that your equipment is more of a commercial lot set up. My parking lots don't require me to move snow great distances and the snow has to go one direction on all 6 lots. So for me the straight blade is fine. Buying the right setup for your particular work is always the smart move for any contractor. Glad the tires are working but they stick out pretty far. If you don't put fender flares on you're going to sandblast your paint. Cheers!
i've heard that thinner tires are supposed to be better, but i've run big 11 and 12 wides in plenty of snow and had minimal issues, without even engaging 4x in _most_ cases. then again, i run hybrids at minimum.
Thanks! And ya I’m actually super impressed with how well they do, everyone said they were gonna suck but I’d actually argue there the best tire I’ve ever had for plowing
Dyna pro atm’s only way to go. Big fancy wheels look good and everything but at the end of the day they don’t pay your bills or keep you warm at night. Plus stock wheels are cheaper they usually come with the truck(-:
Just asking, if you had to just do a open up pass on all your commercial accounts before 7am wouldn't it be better to just put the plow in v do a couple of passes around the sight then do rest and then come back later to do all the clean up
1973 Case MB4/94...I can do this all day long!! Too bad you guys were so far away over there! Front and rear blade...driveways...in just a few seconds to a couple minutes!
That small tight driveway..... we have one just like that but trees and bushes on both sides... and we run duallys.. suuuucks. Family friend so kinda have to do it 🤦🏽♂️
Awesome video Carson! I have 35x12.5 BFG AT KO2 on my ‘16 Ram Cummins and they are an absolute monster in the snow and are severe snow rated so I’m sure that has something to do with it. Only down side is they seem to wear fast. Oh and thanks for not putting in a bunch of that horrible techno music in that so many other like to use....it’s fun to hear the equipment work! Cheers man.
Thanks for the feedback Adam! I used to put music in but after people told me to stop we did! Any feedback from you guys is helpful just let me know what you like and don’t like
I had ko2 on my ram as well. Burnt through them way to quick hauling my trailers. Awesome tire and traction but more suited for half tons and smaller trucks
Carson Schifsky , wow 2007 !!! That truck looks amazing. It’s so nice to see a young guy making a living instead of going to college and coming out and not having a job. I am not against college my our 2 boys are in college for the next 3 years that is why I started PT lawn care last year to help them leave college with no debt or under 5k in loans so they’ll have a good start with their adult life. Carson my only advice I would like to tell you stay out of debt try to pay stuff off as early as possible so you’ll always have options and control in your business. I see too many people go in business and they become a slave to the loan lenders. Keep making money 💰
I'd plow that small little driveway (at the 11 min mark) differently. For a cleaner drive, how you pushed the snow up to the backyard from along the house.. you then drove over that pile to back blade from garage, then pushed the pile off to the side. I would have come up from side of house, pushed that pile all the way over to the side. then backed up, back blade one row from garage, then push that all to the side, and once more. It would be one extra back up and push total, but you would leave any compaction on the drive, leaving a cleaner look. Other than that, great work young man!
I like the 7.3 powerstroke not as much power as the 6.0 but i like her. 293k still stong although ive only done about 14k of it. Old Masonary company trk has 75 gallon fuel tank on it had arc welder and torches and tool boxes on it. I wouldnt plow with my trk even for personal use trk is too big with the 11ft bed. Im hoping to buy my own place this year and i want a bit of land to play with tractor and ill use that for plowing. I love being able to turn 360 without using reverse or leaving the driveway
Thatd be sweet! ya i have a bunch of buddies that give me crap for having a single cab, until you plow with a crew cab or any longer truck you dont realize how much you love the single cab!!
The wings have such a great snow loss between the mold board and the wing they are just not worth it. Esp the boss wings at the price they ask. But nice video get it done
That’s what I was noticing with that video too. It was the first time I’ve actually seen them in action. I would disagree however. When it comes to detailing or touching up, yes they wouldn’t be as beneficial. But when it comes to moving a bunch of snow quickly they definitely help, although some snow gets by there is a extremely large amount that they still help contain. I’m going to try and adjust them a bit to to see if I can tighten up that gap.
I run 4 9 to 10ft plows 2 straight and 2 v and a 10ft box blade. I had the wings on my stainless dxt v and the loss of snow was too great. My dealer even said there is nothing you can do and as I have a zero tolerance policy on snow on curbs or the ground they were sold after 2 storms

after 40 years I learned when plowing use momentum of truck to push big piles not the transmission.I T is not a payloader and transmission will smoke quick.Today new trucks have powerful diesel engine the drive train can't handle power for long. Go slow steady don't break stuff. Make money ... NYC area fun to plow no room.
I would jst est as jst a break thru no shoveling for 35 bucks only if your already in the area or jst say it's not worth my time to come out not that you can't do it or dnt want to

Ya I’ve thought about that but but don’t know if I have enough work yet to justify one. Especially my first year when I have 25k in truck/plow and we’ve only had 3 plowable snow events!

How many residential customers do you do? Lol looks like you need my inverted one for that lady. I know what you mean about picky customers. I have around 100 and I have 5-10 people who complain every time.
Only about 15 residential nothing crazy. The main complaint for that particular spot is “there’s still snow on the driveway” they are expecting 100% clear driveway as if it never even snowed without using salt or anything. Trying to explain that it’s impossible to not have some residue left over on the driveway... 🤷♂️

Have you tried fisher? If so why did you decide on western.....living here in Maine and fisher is made here in Rockland Maine, it’s our favorite, but, I’ve only owned fisher and they have proven damn near bulletproof
This is a boss plow, but western and fisher sound like there good stuff partially because fisher owns western
That diesel is the best music you can have! Great video !
Agreed!
I need to put a mic by the exhaust next time!
Your videos are really looking professional keep them coming. Thanks
Thanks nick! I really appreciate hearing that! It takes a lot of time to make these and I’m always looking for ways to make them better! Anything you guys think I should do different don’t hesitate to say something!
Now that is a plow. Do you run any weight in the bed at all to balance the weight and help give you pushing power?

Question: is it possible to press down the full hydraulic Boss plows when backdragging? If so, it must have a huge advantage over the chain lift systems!
No there is no down pressure. I think they do that so people aren’t losing traction on your steering tires
That drone footage was awesome! More overhead time lapse videos please!
Have you ever had a problem with the dxt folding back from too much snow when it’s in scoop position
That extra wing looks like it leaves a pretty good trail what as fe your thoughts
exactly what i thought! ive never watched it from that angle before and realized how much slides through, it does work good for taking huge swipes on big piles of snow, probably not the best cleanup/ detail wing
Just some advice on the small drives I fold my mirrors in so they don’t break and look out the back window thanks for the great work keep it up
Yea but then I can’t see the fence or corner of house without mirrors
Where did you get your truck and what year is it? I want one!

Ya the sandblasting has already started....
Love the video great editing can't wait till we get a snow bigger than 2 inches here on South East PA
Haha this was our first!! Lol
drone footage good idea ... plus like the truck that has much better back up lights ... keep it GOING ... SMILE
Thanks John!
Why do U plow with shoes on the plow
i've heard that thinner tires are supposed to be better, but i've run big 11 and 12 wides in plenty of snow and had minimal issues, without even engaging 4x in _most_ cases. then again, i run hybrids at minimum.

I wanna see this set up work on a country residential with a steep grade.
Another top video !! congratulations! I also work with snow removal in Canada with my plow truck. A lot of work around here in this snowstorm
Got that right thanks Paulo!

Кто производитель?
У этогл отвала лезвие в низу или резиновая пластина?
Hey man all the power to you! But here in Canada we get 10 inches on the regular >.
Thank u for good plowing videos
How many miles do you have on your truck?
right around 130k
How much do you guys charge for a single drive way and do you charge more of you get more snow?
We do a flat rate and it all depends on how big of a driveway it is and what it requires
What year is your Ford f350
the 6.0 is a 2007 we also have a 2011 6.7
How do u get so many contacts of snowplow jobs

The day after yes 😂
Me too almost made me wanna go back to a gasser 😂
My 7.3s are prob gonna be gellin today. 1 degree with crazy windchills
my 38 x 13.5 Trail Grapplers work good in Alaska.
keep a portable air compressor with you to blow out the snow when it clumps up. Works good for me. Great video. Be safe.
Thats a good idea, i want to have one hardwired in the tool box and a 50' spool of hose for all kids of different things.
Do you do per push or seasonal contracts?
Depends on each account. Watch my other videos about snow plowing how it’s etc

High range
@@CarsonSchifsky You gotta be careful with that. You could destroy the megatronics unit and wear out the double kiprikas. Low range is much better!
6" in Chicago on Monday. No school meant extra $$$ for me
Heck ya! Right on they closed everything down here pretty much all week
TALK ABOUT COMING IN WITH A BANG!! hahaha Love it bro!
Well we get a little excited when it snows around here haha 😂
If you haven’t already done if you should do am overview of the 6.0L tell us what’s done to it and what not. Enjoy the vids man

Time to start plowing one more huge storm! They cant go into spring retirement yet lol!!
Get yourself a John Deere 4720 with a Fisher plow and back scraper. Fits everywhere and beats a truck setup

Haha ya was big for us this year! Lol
The wings have such a great snow loss between the mold board and the wing they are just not worth it. Esp the boss wings at the price they ask. But nice video get it done

this illustrates why, for many of us, a long box crew cab is not an option for snow removal.

L shape is tough. City driveways on older homes in general are super tight, an ATV is almost more productive in this situation.
