Fun Facts
-Ravnica lizardfolk are called Viashino. They were in the UA for Ravnica, but they just decided to say "hey just use lizardfolk guys"
-the Giants on Ravnica vary in size depending on guild. Orzhov are generally a little smaller, then Boros, with the Gruul giants towering over their cousins
-Weirds are Elementals made of opposing elements. Blistercoil is a Water/Fire elemental
-Duskmantle is the Guild House for the Dimir Guild(Spies and assassins)
-Azorius is the guild of Law and Order
-The Druids on Ravnica are either Selesnya(religious cultivated nature church) or Gruul(anarchists that want to tear everything back to nature) or Golgari(Necromantic bent focused on the cycle of rebirth)
-The Big Salamander is a Krasis, from the Simic combine, which are like Mad Biologists. Krases are one or more animals smashed together
-The tank on the wizards back harnesses lightning and is made out of "Mizzium" which is like Ravnican Mithril/Adamantine
-Niv Mizzet is the 15,000 year old founder of the Izzet guild(mad scientists) He is a Supergenius, he is a CR 25/(26?) Ancient dragon with 9th level spellcasting, with the ability to spontaneously get back 3rd level or lower spell slots as a legendary action. He's kind of amazing.

Thanks for all the tidbits! I've been reading my Ravnica D&D book this morning, so I'm slowly getting up to speed. Between that and these minis, I'm loving it so far.

I've apparently decided to get back into collecting minis for tabletop gaming, and this is a set I could easily see buying a case of to open.
Mtg lore used to be much darker. I'm glad you're liking those minis! As a long time mtg fan and more recent dnd fan I have mixed feelings about this, but there is potential.
Also, mtg takes place in a multiverse, each expansion carrying players to a new world, called plane, so this is just a small portion of mtg, although one of the most beloved ones. Ravnica is a world entirely covered by this giant city, split into ten guilds.
Magic itself has many levels of play, from "kitchen magic" (playing with your friends, having fun) to world championships: I'd suggest you to find someone you know who can teach you the basics, at your local game store they probably have free promotional material to begin playing and you can see if you like it or not! As a former judge, let me tell you: don't be overwhelmed, it is a complex game but can be played very easily ^^

I’m convinced that Wizkids sends this guy reviewer editions of their miniatures and they put extra effort into making his look good, cause when I get the same miniatures he shows, mine don’t look half as nice.

I am, in fact, an MTG player who got into DnD because of this expansion and oH BOY ITS THE BEST
The huge crossover is pretty cool. I'm a huge Ravnica fan and I see this as the perfect way to celebrate 25 years of MTG.

@@NerdsonearthFrom what I've seen of your reactions, I think you'd fit in well with the Boros Legion or the Selesnya Conclave, depending on the type of paladin you are.
Selesnya is all about unity, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. They are also one of only two recognized religions on Ravnica.
Boros is all about enforcing the law and upholding order. They are also Ravnica's military and police force rolled into one.

@@Nerdsonearth What's cool about the book is that you get additional 'guild spells' if you have the Spellcasting or Pact Magic feature. Similar to the additional spells you get when you select your class archetype.

This is one of the better pre-painted Wizkids sets on the market. It's unfortunate that they did not have the same quality in all of their products. Thanks for sharing!
There are red black red black white blue or five colors of different cards and green green so some of those the ones in the black are usually zombies and vampires and did things
Ravnica first came out in a time that Wizards put out books that came with the fat pack or you could pick up.

I don't mind the blind boosters, but I've gotten 3 of the SKT boosters, and gotten the Cloud Giant out of all 3. Pretty disappointing imo.

trying to decide if i want to splurge on a full case of the ravnica minis, can't find a list of all the minis in the set and there are 2 cases sitting at my local game store lol
I can point you in the right direction. Go to Google and Look up Pathfinder Minis. You'll see a link by the same title. Click it and you'll be taken to a list section. Click the "Home" on the web page, and you'll be taken to an EVEN Bigger list! Look for "Icons of the Realms" list and you'll be able to Search through ALL the D&D Miniature Gallery that are available!

I like this site for the rosters: www.minisgallery.com/dnd/dnd19.htm They typically have it polished up shortly after launch. My FLGS thankfully started selling singles. (www.sourcecomicsandgames.com) but I would get them online from Cool Stuff Inc before that.
For Players and DMs looking for cheaper D&D minis. Look for the MTG Planeswalker Arena Board games.
There are three sets in total with a S***ton of Minis for 20 bucks or less. Some come prepainted, and most aren't. But most of the figures are useable for the Current release of the Ravnica setting! You might not find any, so try your online options before you try Barnes N Nobles and Wal-Mart.

As a D&D player that knows very little about Magic the Gathering there is not much for me here. A couple of the large figures could be used as unique monsters but not enough value for the price.

As a D&D/Pathfinder GM who kind of knows Magic...I will be buying two bricks. There are so many minis that can be used!
Look for the MTG Planeswalker Arena Board games. If your looking for minis, they have CRAPTON that will suit your needs for 20 bucks and less.
It's a better start.
Mixed bag, so okay, some bad paint jobs, some seriously bendy weapons.
Bent features are so easy to fix its not really a con.
