People may not always agree this was the best movie in the series, but it sure has the most defining soundtrack! next to "Bonnie Portmore" of course which was used at least 3 times in the various movies/tv season finale's which you can still thankfully hear starting at 4:18 :D
Agreed! It did a good enough job of introducing some new ideas without going completely bonkers like the second whilst remaining true to the spirit of the original without simply rehashing it like the third. And it wasn't nearly as...erm...whatever the hell "Highlander: The Source" was! lol
The theatrical cut of this one was bad but the producers cut on dvd is great it has some issues it needed a little more character development of the gang that works for the villain an a few scenes from the workprint would have helped it a little like one extra character scene for one of the gang members that was in the workprint. Also in the workprint originally the fight between the two Duncan an Connor was before Kell killed his gang. In the workprint Kell decides to kill his gang to give him a bigger edge after he finds out Duncan has killed Connor.Only big problem with this entry was the repeat of the fight scene at the end it was quick but still stupid.Other then that this is easily a great film for the tv series universe the franchise could have easily ended here had they wanted it to just have Kell kill the other main tv series characters an have Duncan kill him an wrap it up.I have would have been fine with that an it would have prevented hopefully the Source film from happening. As is this is still a great film for tv series fans an has a good heart about it so that makes up for the little flaws. The villain isnt just a Kurgan rip off which I like.Highlander 2 was terrible but the Source was worse.Highlander 2 directors cut is watchable an passable but still not good.Highlander 3 wasnt terrible but wasnt good either it was all right average 9os action film.
This movie sucks. Just a meaningless sequel to the epic 1986 movie. The original film Highlander I is a thousand times better, with beginning and end in the same film. Connor Mcleod had already won the award by killing Kurgan, and the film is quite clear - only CONNOR and KURGAN remained among the immortals. The script and the entrance of this one Duncan Mcleod is a disrespect with the legacy and the history of the original film. Nor should have been sequenced. It was just to make more money. And there they did these shit (Highlander IV, III and II).
This was not a sequel. It is from series timeline... Different from movie timeline.. even first movie has 2 timelines. One followed by second movie and other followed by third movie which ignores "II"
Been a fan of Highlander for about 13 years now. Love this soundtrack, especially the acoustic version of "Killing an old friend" at 1:37. This is an awesome remix, for a very underrated soundtrack, even if the movie left much to be desired.
And the saddest of sequels what a beautiful story don't let the negativity of the reviews for sway you it's a great movie Highlander has always had its inconsistencies but this movie is beautiful towards the end and tragic

@Mirdrac Unfortunately they did a spin-off with Amanda instead which introduced that cop Nick Wolf who became an immortal in the season finale. That was obvious they had planned to do another season- but the show ended up getting canceled due to bad ratings. It was just not the same without Adrian Paul.
Endgame is a good movie not great but good.2 is only ok in the directors cut.The directors cut of 2 is a time waster.3 is an all right action flick.5 is utter trash .
well of course I know that now, I was just saying they might think of a way of having him as a character on the side, rather then the lead, you know, make him apart of the movies in the reboot without replacing Connor completely like they did with the TV series.
just looking at the freaking cover makes me want to watch the movie again . sure it wasnt as good as the first one but hell its way better then the source . they really should have made this one the end game and not make another one whit just adrian paul .for me the original story line end whit The end game

@HnRZ where do youh ave the music from? Especially "The Legend of the Immortals" I cant find this track, Iam looking for this track for ages. please help me out!
Even though succesful in a way, still underrated. I disliked the part where there was like extraterrestrial stuff involved, but this movie and first movie are easy W. Lore and ost wise
There is an ending where she walks down some stairs (in a mall, I think) towards Duncan. I don't know how that makes sense. I guess Jacob missed her when he was on his killing spree. ;)

Michael Kamen and Freddy Mercury are probably smiling and scratching their heads looking down at your comment from heaven.
This is the best highlander sequel, no others come as close!

I rented a VHS copy of the original Highlander movie in 1986. I've been a fan since then.
Your comment was made 12 years ago. So you've been a Highlander fan for 25 years now. :D

“Duncan!! One of us has to die now.”
I loved this movie. In the end, there can be only one. ... May it be Duncan MacLeod, the true Highlander.

Best theme in the Highlander series
fantastic, always loved legend of the immortals and youve cut it well
Schön das auch andere Zuseher bemerken, dass das eine OST Perle ist. Kompliment an den Komponisten. P.S.: Auch den Film finde ich gelungen;)

That movie is not a sequel of highlander. It's entirely on series continuity. In this universe is another version for Connor x Kurgan duel.
0:54, i think it's Scotland who sound in this moment, her own soul...
This is the best Highlander music, except the first. Also the best movie except the first, but that's not a high bar.
nur geil!!!!
This is My song for My funeral, l hope so.....
Who wants to Live forever.... from the first movie
Una muy hermosa melodía.......maravillosa.
i hated when ducan and connor parted that really got to me thanks HnRz
They should change the rules: "There can be only TWO (if they come from the same clan or if they are significantly related)"
I said this movie had its moments it might have been seriously inconsistent with continuity but what a great story
Higlander and Highlander : Endgame are there best and only good films in the series. Highlander 2 3 and 5 never happend to me.
Endgame is a good movie not great but good.2 is only ok in the directors cut.The directors cut of 2 is a time waster.3 is an all right action flick.5 is utter trash .
@@boomstickcritique902 I think in the third film taking Connor to Japan was absolutely ridiculous.
I still wonder how the Duncan Mcleod character may play out in the Remake...or better yet A Remake's more consistant continuity sequels :P
Yup. Very sad scene.
@The Rabbid It will not be Duncan MacLeod in the remake- but it will actually be Connor MacLeod who was the lead character in the original film.
well of course I know that now, I was just saying they might think of a way of having him as a character on the side, rather then the lead, you know, make him apart of the movies in the reboot without replacing Connor completely like they did with the TV series.
@Rohoxuj Song is called (Killing An Old Friend)
My name is Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod, and once, a very long time ago, I was a Highlander…

I'd love a highlander spinoff with methos
hows the song called playing at 1:00?
Over 85 000 views now, im pretty amazed..
I just want to thank all the people who enjoyed this vid!
To me the first highlander is the only highlander movie. But i gotta admit, final dimension and endgame did have good sex scenes.
amen sister
❤
Series and movies are different timelines, but endgame and the source are in series time line. No connection with Highlander 1,2&3
whats the name of the song that starts exactly at 0:54 im talkin about the instrumental tune the one that plays when connor is leaving heather to go see his mother
i have checked and it isn't The legend of the Immortals
can someone please tell me what its called?
Whats the music at the start till around the 1.00 mark.
Although the original Bonny Portmore is performed by Loreena McKennit, this is not her...
anyone know the song at the end of this vid ..?

hi again
I've met Adrian Paul.
How was he?
He was good. It was fantastic meeting him.
Me too, I have also met Jim Byrnes and Peter Wingfield. All of them are really cool
iv checked all youtube an cant find the song can you send me a link for it?
@ZeroGearPlus thats the part while Duncan was having a quickenning from Connor isnt it?
I was once a "HIGH" lander(2005-2016)
What tune is that at 4:06 - 4:21? I know it plays at the beginning of Endgame, but I cant find it anywhere.
If Jacob Kell hadn't been so over acted, this film would have been perfect
lol His performance was one of the highlights for me
Yeah, I actually love his performance. It made Kell unique.
Bruce Payne nailed the character of Jacob Kell
Al final, sólo puede quedar uno.

indeed, they have to stop making more of them.

In Endgame not Loreena sang "Bonny Portmore" but Jennifer McNeal and did it better.
