I think Lara had the room because I noticed the Beatles posters and her favorite movie she mentioned was the Beatles help

I am not going to lie.... I tried decluttering in the past and it was hard. But I didn't start doing it regularly until February 2021. And I have been doing it regularly since then. I would hold on to some of my mom's stuff. But I decided that others need to enjoy her stuff. I still have many things to remind me of her. I feel so much better about letting go now.

It’s so hard with a parent and that is incredible that you had the thought to let others enjoy her things.
We helped one client who didn’t want to get rid of an old alcohol bottle because it had her moms handwriting on it.
It’s so hard but I like to think of our loved ones as next to us in these times. Would our ancestors be obsessing whether we kept an old wedding dress or pair of glasses? Most likely they would just want us to live our best lives. :)

New to your channel. Love real decluttering! I struggle also with just being able to let things go and I have to look through Everything! I also sort like things together and then decide what has to go. It's the small things that get me.

You’re just like me! I have to look through everything as well, who knows what’s in there, if it belongs to something else, etc. thank you so much for watvhing and glad you enjoyed the video!

I'm new here too. The first time I just watched your video. I have 3 bedrooms full to the brim of the little things. I can't let go of bags, tissue, empty boxes, little trinkets and little craft items that I want to do someday. Those some days are now 6 years later. And the paper clutter. I have to touch every piece and look over it to see if I just need to keep it. I know I need therapy. 😊. But I'm tired of the mess. My kids won't even visit me at my home bc there is so much mess.
You guys did a great job!!! And yes, I just subscribed too.

Empty boxes are another weakness of mine.
We hope that one day it will be magically easier to get rid of things but it just isn’t! That’s why I seriously do just a little at a time. My sister can toss things away like no one’s business but not me lol

I absolutely need to see every little item before I can let it go, just to make sure it doesn’t belong to something. I also have a hard time decluttering certain categories in my home. Toys are so hard for me to let go. We had a fire in our home when I was 14. My family lost so much. Many of my toys and sentimental items were just gone and it broke my heart. I have found now, that it is hard for me to declutter any of my son’s toys because once that toy is gone I can’t get it back and what if he asks for it. I am slowly working on this category and I find that working slowly helps me to let some toys go.

Thank you so much and you never know what is going to be at the bottom of the box! I am convinced one day I’ll find a winning lottery ticket or valuable family heirloom. :)

I’m a first time watcher and I’m enjoying your video. So I’m 66 years old. If I was younger, I’d be running a business helping people D clutter their homes because I love doing it so yes, if there’s a bin with a bunch of stuff in it, I have to go through everything and sort it out that’s the way I do it, which is really tedious for most people, and keeps them from even touching that been at the thought of having to go through it

    • @thetidytwo27

Just subscribed after watching a few videos. I love watching organizing and cleaning videos. Do y'all ever watch A Hoarders Heart or Leaf like on a tree? They both clean, declutter, and talk about mental health issues that they go thru at different times.

    • @thetidytwo27

Never heard of but checking out immediately! Thank you for the recommendation. We do love a cleaner called Midwest magic clean. Kind of a humor approach but we appreciate the mental health awareness!

I am definitely team check everything out before tossing/donating/organizing. My former spouse would come to the house to have dinner and would see a counter of stuff. He would grab a box and push everything into it and put the box in the garage just so he would have some peace of mind. Very inappropriate. I then before we moved went through a couple of those boxes. One had $1,000 cash. Another had a personal check which sadly was over 3 months old. I had to return that to the person who issued it. Now, I really cannot go into any decluttering without handling every item on the off chance that I'll randomly come across some cash.

I’m new here so hello and yes I subscribed❤ and liked. This video was so amazing. I have to go through every single item in our home. I clean every day and I’m always trying to find ways to declutter. I do get rid of things it’s just a slow process.

I love this! Slow and steady wins the race! Thank you for watching.
I think finding new ways to declutter adds novelty to the task!
If you have any tips please feel free to share!

I'd like to see more organizing videos. I live in an old house with no built in storage. I have open shelving which kinda makes the living spaces look like warehouse aisles. Nothing is decorative because there is so much. So I have open and lidded bins everywhere and it is very unwelcoming. Even I am irritated by it. Each room has been designated for certain activities but inevitably those purposes get expanded (think eating in the living room because the dining room is filled with an incomplete project). This maybe a living single problem as this didn't happen when there was more people here.

Can i just say, seeing the after pictures at the beginning of the video negates the point of watching it. Don't spoil it otherwise there's no point in watching.
