This is awesome! It reminds me of a pro soccer club in England called Forest Green Rovers who are known for being the greenest club in the world. Both clubs should definitely collaborate!
I grew up playing on select teams and school teams in middle school and high school. Had season tickets to NASL games at RFK stadium. Yes late 1970's early 1980's. Did a lot of traveling. What a great experience. ⚽️🏆
I think that it's both possible and positive to do both! Most people love a wide variety of things - I love roller coasters AND helping to ensure people have enough food to eat; I love rock music AND allowing people to do what they want with their own bodies without undue government regulation. If all I did was care about injustice, I'd burn out; if all I did was the fun stuff that doesn't have an explicit activist bent, I wouldn't be working on goals that are important to me. I like that this idea can invite footballers/soccer fans who maybe aren't as informed on environmental issues and show them new things to think about, but I'm also excited that folks who care deeply about environmental justice are encouraged to go see a game, and maybe find out they REALLY LOVE soccer! I think this is awesome and you don't have to do one or the other!
