- Kaesong was the capital of the entire Korean peninsula during the Koryo Era and is, therefore, brimming with ancient history just waiting to be uncovered. A popular tourist spot for both locals and foreigners, the region is also famous for its proximity to the Joint Security Area - the only place on the Korean DMZ where both sides stand toe-to-toe.

Who agrees that the DPRK Explained Chanel should be more known within news communities, so that they can report on things in an unbiased manner.
me ✌
I agree
Unfortunately, the news wants to be biased so that people will remain ignorant. They don't want people to see the DPRK as a more normal place. To let people feel a human connection with north Koreans. They do similar biases to other countries too so that people don't protest when the government does something wrong to those countries. There's so much corruption it's immeasurable.
@@Mediocre00Rebel define "the news".
I've always wanted to visit this ancient city and look at it's architecture, maybe I will be able to know how to get there.
Nice, i am first visitor
Thank You again for a neutral and high quality video!! I really respect your work.
My Goodness, I did most of this tour back in 2018! Very nice video!
You are the only guys who tell us more about the secretive country in the world Thanks man for the information
I didn't know before before about tours to the places and events I'd heard of from the Koryo Era. That's much more interesting to me than the DMZ. Thanks for all this info.
A beautiful city, I hope to visit it one day, thanks for the video and your hard work
This was Very Interesting!
You must make more videos like this one!
Thank You!
Kaesong does seem beautiful! Shame there's no other such villages spared
Большое спасибо.
I wish I could travel to Kaesong and the DPRK in general. But I would most probably be deported because of my passport. Not American btw. Malaysia had a little bit of a fallout with the DPRK.
something something, not liking North Korean agents assassinating people in airports
I wish I could travel too and see what DPRK is actually like. But I might end up being deported too. (I'm Japanese btw.)
It would be interesting indeed
@@jacombodoescare Right!! Agreed lol these people are idiots 🙄
@@jacombodoescare Seriously what the fuck is wrong with that bro? If they want to visit North Korea thats none of your bussiness, so what if they go their, its not like you will go with them?, Its only natural for people to get curious and want to travel their. Stop calling people idiots just because they want to go to another country, if they go their thats none of your problem. Get a life.
Your productions are incredible
Hey ! Your channel is one of my favorite. With exclusive infos unavailable elsewhere. I wonder if It's an idea for you to cover the foreigners who lives and work in Korea ? I've heard there's many embassies from non-aligned countries in DPRK. And also expats in differents fields such as humanitarian, teaching and so on. I will subscribe to Patreon soon. Have a good day !
Thank you! It’s definitely a topic on my list, I just need to find a good way to present it
No foreigners move to North Korea, it’s terrible.
This channel gives a look at DPRK without a critical bias which lets me learn more abt the country without retellings of the human rights abuses we've all heard.

I would love to visit the DPRK as an American, but I cannot visit.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER 🇹🇹🥰
yo.you uploaded nice vlog~see you later~🤘
Awesome Kaesong !
Thank you for your excellent report. I wish I could travel to the DPRK, but I’m American and don’t think the U.S. allows it😢

lol. You are free to go. The US doesn't give a fuck. Good luck not getting arrested if you make one false move.
@@FloatingWeeds2LMAO typical yankee ignorance
I ❤ love kaesong!!!! Why isn't there a rail line connecting Pyongyang and kaesong?
There is! The Pyongbu line runs from Pyongyang just beyond Kaesong
@@DPRKExplained yes!!!!! Thank you.
I hope you will visit our lovely county again. You are always welcome to DPRK
Hello sir, whats the song name at the very start of the video? thanks
Will Kaesong be the capital of the reunited Korea?
There will be no reunited korea
Are you really that redditor who goes by Captain Weston? Or is there some weirdo out here claiming your content as 100% theirs?
That’s me 😂

as an American can I visit ?I have always wanted to visit
If you are a dual national and have a passport other than a US one, yes you can. The US State Department has banned US nationals travelling to the DPRK using a US passport.
@@DPRKExplained I appreciate the reply. so unfortunately I can never visit. Maybe someday that will change because I really do want to visit.
Why are these clips from the 1980’s?
I feel like he's rephrasing a DPRK travel magazine from that era
How difficult was it for you to be allowed to travel across DPRK, let alone film a lot of your own footage like this?? Did it take a while to get DPRK leadership to 'trust you enough' to give you free reign to travel wherever?🤔
Or are you from a country that DPRK has "good or neutral relations with", so they were more lenient? ;)
Do you have a certain occupation or career project within DPRK that gives you "special privileges" in that regard, as a foreigner?
Its probabdly all state currated stock footage.
North Korea's borders have been closed since 2020. They're slowly reopening as of recently, but only for a very small number of Russian tourists. The footage in this video seems dated; it definitely comes from local NK news channels, documentaries and other stock video sources.
