    I've always had both cats and dogs together. I've had many different breeds including many mixed breeds. I've never had a issue with any of them getting along, and haven't found one breed to be better than another. Right now I have a pitbull and a chihuahua and both are just fine living with my 8 cats!! We're one big happy fur family!!!🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐈🐕🐕

      @@fluffycat2728 Yes, there will probably always be a little "getting used to each other time" at first, if you bring one in after having the other ones for a while. I always introduce them while keeping them in an enclosed area for a while so the others can smell them and get used to them. Usually in a fenced off area or in a kennel. I would never suggest you just put them all together right away.

    My chihuahuas did well with cats. Our border collie mix loves our 3 cats. There’s a cat at the shop n every time we go there she’s so happy to see her. 😂 Even when I take her for walks she gets excited to see a cat. She’s the same way about people. 🥰

    I've had a dog ,cats,birds and gerbils all at the same time and mostly without issue. I also grew up around farm animals so I like animals period . Currently I have two awesome,pawsome male cats (both neutered ) named Silver and Osssy and I may adopt a senior cat when my boys eventually cross the bridge. For now I enjoy every snuggle,every playtime and every minuite I can with them :)

    Any dog can get along with cat. I always had dogs and cats together of different breeds and they always got along well. It is just a matter of how those pets are raised and used to be in each others company. When little, we had a poodle which I was terrified off as she was always aggressive towards me. The day she died was the biggest relief.

    I accidentally acquired a German Shepherd. He totally adores my cats and started laying down to make friends with them before I got the chance to ask him to so. He's fabulous with them, but they're convinced he's a giant monster so they try to scratch him if I don't get in the way of their claws. His love for them hasn't changed, despite a couple gnarly scratches I expected him to react to. He didn't even bark, he just looked confused and took a step backwards. I don't know anything about dogs, but I'm totally impressed with him. ...Now I just have to convince my cats to mirror his affection back to him, or at least to stop scratching him when he tries to lay a couple feet away and fawn at them.

    I have a taco terrier and a cat. Dog was here first and then the kitten came to be a house cat. My terrier taught the kitten to go outside for his "business", and they run and play in the yard. If kitty goes off for awhile, they always touch noses when he returns. And my Terrier worries when he isn't home in the morning or at night when it is bedtime. She goes to the door an looks for him and if she goes out she will go to each side of the yard and barks for him. If he is close enough to hear, he will come running.

    • @deejayimm
      @deejayimm ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not an expert by any means it just seems to me like it depends how they grow up.
      It seems like if your cat grows up around one person then it attaches to that one person and it takes alot of time to really warm up to others, if ever.
      But I have friends who have always got random people coming in their house at all hours of the day, and crashing all night, and their cats are so freaking chill with everyone.
      I think it's more about conditioning than anything.
      Same with dogs being okay with cats.
      If you raise a dog around cats as a puppy, of course it's going to be cool with cats.
      Of course there are always exceptions, this is just my observation from my experience.

    As far as I know, cats and dog getting along depends mostly on how used the cat is to dogs. Dogs are pack animals, and they understand that the cat is a part of the pack if the owners treat it as family. Cats on the other hand are a bit more solitary and less trusting, and generally smaller than dogs. They are as much prey as they are predators, so it's easier to adopt a kitten when you have a dog than the other way around. Unless your cat is used to dogs.
