    He has the spirit, strikes and attitude of a great player. He's a good server, his forehand is astonishingly powerful but he also got a great touch, making smart use of drop shots very effectively. He's always playing aggressive, often putting pressure on the server returning fast deep hits whenever there is an opportunity. Knows how to play at the net too. Although I agree we can't get ahead of ourselves, this kid is talented, has already made it to the top 100 at 18yo (no younger players better ranked than him), has still a lot to evolve and the next 2 years will probably show how far he can get. But so far he's given every reason for people to believe he will be a strong contender with a top rank in a near future.

  • @Askaa88
    @Askaa88 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +16

    The future is still Sinner, Alcaraz and perhaps Rune and Felix. Fils might be in the mix as well because he's quite an established player and only two years older than Fonseca and yet, nobody talks about Fils for some reason. Fonseca has the right attitude to be a very good player but a couple of top 20 wins doesn't make him a superstar just yet. Please don't overhype the kid before he crumbles under the pressure of the media just like many promising young players in the past.

    • @RodrigoGomes-bw6gb

    • @vijitc1209
      @vijitc1209 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I agree. He has huge shots when he has time. Top players won't give him that time. He has all the shots, but he is somewhat slow moving compared the others and also his body won't be able to keep up that kind of hard hitting. So to me he is a long way away from being rated as a regular top 5.

    If by "future" you mean a perennial top 20 throughout his career then that's a good call. Anyhthing higher than that is still a question mark and depends on an array of factors. In terms of mentality, raw skills and game foundations he's surely on the right path. But there are plenty of things to be improved. His forehand is elite. His serve, consistency and court coverage still need some development. Ranking wise finishing this season in the top 40, winning around 25 ATP matches and a maiden ATP title (regardless if it's a 250) can be considered huge success for him.
