- Downtown Long Island City is the fastest growing neighborhood in the NYC borough of Queens. The neighborhood is home to the tallest skyscraper in Queens, many new apartment buildings, restaurants, and stores. It has also seen a massive influx of Asians, making it the fastest growing Chinatown in NYC. I take a walk through the Downtown of this quickly expanding area of Queens, and end near the waterfront at the East River.

Very nice beautiful Walk-through of Long Island City in Queens! It was a beautiful day and a wonderful tour. Camera quality is awesome as always. Thanks for sharing this AK!
My pleasure, Long Island City is a marvelous place
Love LIC, my mom grew up in this area and it blows her mind what it looks like today.
It's really different from what it once was!
@@ActionKid I have only seen it in recent years. Would have been cool to see it before.
Wonderful walk (and commentary) through an exciting new neighborhood! I remember this area in the days when it was little changed from the early 20th century.
I remember those times too in Long Island City!
I am currently in LIC. I have enjoyed my visit so far. Easy walking distance to everything one would need to have a great experience. Nice video and was very helpful.
The ActionKid shows the modern Queens with skyscrapers & new modern busses 🚌. Even the Target 🎯 is modern. 🐼
4:06 It’s concerning when the Department of Health Building gets an F for “Building Energy Efficiency Rating”. 😅 21:56 Squeaky train. 30:46 So cool see a viewer who’s a firefighter! Hopefully, you’ll get a tour of the fire station another time, and blessings to all the firefighters. 🙏 39:46 Gorgeous Midtown Manhattan skyline and East River views. 😍 42:25 Iconic Pepsi Cola sign. 🤩 Gantry Plaza State Park is so relaxing with spectacular views. It was nice to see LIC's developments, and the neighborhood looks very modern. Thank you for sharing this relaxing stroll, AK! 🤗
Much appreciated, glad you liked it!
Next time you come, you gotta visit LIC’s Barcade / Restaurant / Bar: Gamehaus!
I really like seeing this area of Queens in Long Island City with all of the
tall buildings, stores, restaurants, and other interesting things to see in
Queens and i really enjoy seeing the many different areas of NYC and
as always another great walking tour of New York City thanks AK.🏙🇺🇲
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
Very nice walking. Sorry, the Skyline Tower is the second tallest skycraper in Queens (763 ft), the tallest is The Orchard (811 ft), but still under construction, is topping out.
It looks like The Orchard already topped out!
Another day in Long Island City Queens Action Kid!😎 Where the Ed Koch Queensborough Bridge, Roosevelt Island Tram, and the 7 Trains are! I hope you enjoyed in Long Island City and thanks for sharing that walk AK!😌🤗😊
Much appreciated, glad you enjoyed the walk through Long Island City!
🦜Firefighters watch Action Kid too 👍🏻that was nice.
These areas are as developed as parts of Manhattan, surprising.
Those elevated tracks there by Queensboro Plaza have been there for over 107 years, far older than what's been built since in the area.
108 years (between Queensboro Plaza) and the Hunter’s Point subway portal) and 107 years (the Corona Elevated out to 104th Street). The Second Avenue connector and the BRT/BMT connection to the 60th Street tunnel opened slightly later. The Astoria El opened two months before the Corona El. The brownstones under the El on 23rd Street appear to be older than the El. There used to be a number of ancient wooden buildings buildings adjacent to the Sunnyside Yards, which are long gone.
Thirty years ago this was just an industrial area that was desolate by 8 PM. The only tall building was the Citibank building. Then the real estate developers moved in and have been building dozens of skyscrapers. That Citibank building now looks small and missing from the skyline. It’s incredibly close to Manhattan and that’s one of its attractions.
I miss your cycling videos. Have a great day
Thank you so much!
Nice 👍
Well I took a nap 😴! Now I’m up! 🫖🍯🍮
Where are all of the industrial bldgs? These new high rises confuse me. I was a resident of Astoria in the 70's.This could have been another So Ho with live/work lofts.
Many are gone, but a few of those old warehouses and factories are still there converted to apartments.
I wonder, what _did_ Long Island City look like in the past?
Still no Samsung paycheck. 😢maybe before I die I’ll get it🤷♀️.what city do you like the most?
8:47-Shouldn't _somebody_ in the municipal *_and_* state governments legislate public (transitional) housing for homeless people sleeping on the street, to get them off of the street?
Boring and it's either long Island or Queens your title confuses people this is such a lame vidio
