I have lived in Thailand for eleven years, and you definitely go through a honeymoon period in which you are madly in love with Thailand, then, what was outside and fundamentally different from your daily life becomes your normal every day life. If I went back to the U.S., it would be cultural shock.

I think with fewer tourists it's even more worth it being here. I do feel for the people who relied on the tourists, but Bangkok has still so much to offer to whoever comes here, as long as they want to do more than getting drunk. I'm staying an extra month as I've not even scraped the surface of what the city has to offer (temples, museums, markets, the Old City, local neighbourhoods). The problem is that I might fall in love with Bangkok even more and not want to leave 😅

If someone has the opportunity to travel to Bangkok or Thailand in general I’d say go for it. You will have the chance to enjoy Bangkok without the usual crowd. The only hard part of travelling these days ironically is when you are preparing in your home country (pcr, bookings, etc) and not the actual travel itself. Once you get all the preparations done I’d say you have completed 99% of the hassle. It may sound impossible but do whatever it takes not to catch covid until you reach Thailand. There’s no greater feeling than to step out of your SHA+ hotel on your 2nd day in Thailand with your negative pcr result. The only disappointing part of my trip is when it was time to go to the airport and go home.

Hi fellow youtuber! Im glad I found you! This video is very valuable -- i love that you asked people in the city about their personal experiences it really helps! me and my partner are trying to go to thailand in March or April. We just found out that international travel are now opening tomorrow with the option to do TEST & GO! I do not wish to demand anything on you, but it will be amazing if you can do a video about this whenever you guys (living there) find out more details about this. I think the traveling mission to Thailand will still be strenuous but not as much as previously?

It is definitely worth coming to Thailand , it’s my first time here just in Phuket under the sandbox scheme arrived sat 15 so nearly past the 7 days till I can decide the next stop on my travels through Thailand , it’s pretty straight forward arriving in Phuket airport for the sandbox scheme , I would suggest to anyone arriving soon to print out your Thai pass and the receipt copy of your 2 COVID tests that you pre paid for and a copy of a negative PCR from your departure country as they will check these three things multiple times going through Phuket airport , might start visiting a few places in paddy’s e-book of Thailand as been watching the videos and couldn’t wait to experience them myself

Been In BKK, now in Chiang Mai and then BKK, Pattaya and then BKK to end. Love being here. the people, the food, the weather. eating out for 2 with a drink for 350 to 500 Baht massages from 200 to 500 Baht Baht. Ok a lot of stuff is closed but there is enough open.

It is totally worth completing all the paperwork to enter Thailand as I just over there for one month (13 Dec - 10 Jan). I came over to see my fiancé which I have not seen in two year and I had a blast traveling throughout Thailand ( Issan (Khon Kaen and Buriram), Prachuap, Ayuttaya, Chonburi and Bangkok). I used the Test n' Go scheme and organising my trip was very simple, had the Thailand Pass within 5 hour once I submitted the necessary paperwork.
If I did not have to return back home to go back to work, I would still be there enjoying the Thai life.

Every body talks about the paperwork coming to Thailand . I found the paperwork easy and not difficult.
Try applying for a visa for a Thai person to go to UK on a 3 month stay. Just the application is 11 pages with a lot of stupid unnecessary questions and Much more expensive than Thai pass application.
My opinion no one should say getting to Thailand now is difficult. Even the restart of the test and go is well explained and well organized.
When I arrived here in December.
The organization at airport to hotel with PCR test was well organized and with precision carried through.
I can only praise the Thai organization for tourists comeback.

  • @littlebootsxxiv6871

It's a great time to enjoy many aspects of Thailand if you can get out there. That really depends on individual circumstances. For a short term holiday maker who hasn't recently recovered from COVID the risks of being quarentined are probably too great right now. But if you can hold on a month or two, indications are that it will get better.

Totally agreed with everyone you interviewed. Have just come back from three weeks in Bangkok ad Hua Hin. Totally worth all the trouble. As Ester and her partner said its seems complicated when you are applying from another country but once you land its all super simple. One concern with the upcoming reintroduction of Test and Go is the additional hotel night in day 5?? lets see how that plays out.....

Got the Test and Go, received the answer about three hours after the cutoff - they answered twice, one was declined and one was approved, so I just used the approved one (guess they're not keeping track of how many times you submit)... did all the paperwork, the thing that "annoyed" me, was the fact that they didn't even check my vaccination nor my PCR-test... And now I live and work here. All good.

Good advice from Forest… As an oldie ( not young like the ones interviewed) go through the hoops ( paper work) with a positive attitude that things will work out. Traveling to a foreign country is not to be like the country you’re from, so learn about the culture and way of life. Don’t expect everything to be like home. Enjoy and stay as long as you can…

The Chao Phraya river cruise is worth it. The boat through the canals stinks a bit, but the ones in Saen Saap Canal is hellish tbh. Let's just say if the water got on your face, you get pimples. If it gets in your mouth, possibly stomache ache for a bit. Accidentally fell into it, get treated quick you don't want to risk fungal infections in the brain yeah.

Paddy, we have been watching your videos since the start of you travel videos. We are on that precipice. Filling out the paperwork is a drag; but this video gave us renewed energy to finish it! Our ticket is for 3-19… see ya soon!

Im from the USA. I paid a Thai company like 50 usd to apply for my Thailand Pass. I think i was approved in 2 days. I purchased my quarantine hotel (1,500 usd ) for 10 nights as im not vaccinated. I purchased my covid insurance through same Thai company, maybe 70 usd. Maybe some people think it is difficult to get into Thailand, but my experience was super smooth… so smooth i was ready to hit a snag, some sort of snag… all went smooth though. :)

Sadly..I really do think tourism to Thailand is particularly privileged right now... I hope all the visitors are providing the much needed support for the local street vendors and small businesses... Can't wait for the opportunity to return as normal there...

Paddy did Miss P have you sleep on sofa, I noticed you interviewed a lot of pretty ladies. I would not do the quarantine. I did it in May. It was very stressful. Test in go or the sandbox I would be there now if I had the time. I am envious of everyone on the boat trip with you Paddy. Looks like it was a great day.

Interesting points of view. I'm guessing Jason must be from Auckland cause the rest of NZ has had almost no restrictions for ages now. Getting an MIQ spot to come back to NZ isn't easy but it's not impossible either, plenty of people have left and returned in the last two years.

I am planning to arrive in Phuket in March of 2022 from the US. Thanks for your insightful and entertaining views of Thailand. You may have covered this but if not could you please produce a small segment on internet data connections and what you have found works best for you. Loved the piece on Dreamy being brought back to life, such a great resource for motorcycle services. Pilot

The river cruise looks amazing. Can you please tell me how I would book this? Is it a particular company? Thank you :)
