This movie is INCREDIBLY underrated. I really wished this movie was appreciated more by the people. I've never had my mind blown by a sequel the way Bladerunner 2049 did.

Yeah, it deserves to be mentioned with Star Wars 2, Aliens, Terminator 2 and The Dark Knight as one of the greatest sequels of all time but also one of the best films of the 21st century. And yes, it is an incredibly underrated masterpiece. One has to grow up and see plenty of movies to be able to actually appreciate this film. I'm not saying I'm on that level, I'm a kid but aware of this movie's virtues.

Adam Flexing his cinematography skills with the intro to this video, practicing what he preaches in most book reviews... How to set Expectations...
Truly Amazing work! And it wonderfully complements the Artistry contained within the pages of the book, as well as the spirit of the film.

Something about "art of.."books that have always drawn me in. Seeing concept art is like a view into the thought process of the artists.
    Thanks for sharing this

"We already have flying cars. They're called 'helicopters'."
Huh. That's a connection I hadn't made before. However, I'd counter that by arguing that helicopters are not accessible to everybody - not in the way cars are. Helicopters need space and maintenance and fuel and landing platforms and logistics which are different to what we consider important in terms of the 'conceptual capsule' of what we refer to as a 'car'.
So yes, helicopters are 'flying cars' in terms of execution, but not in terms of accessibility or convenience.

SOLID book review. Absolutely incredible insights. I am going to check out "Under the Influence" that you've mentioned. And, interesting thoughts on the slow shutter speed - creating that disconnect, isolation from humanity. MAN, that was insightful for damn sure - I can see that. Incredible. Solid video! 🇺🇸

You are obviously very sensitivd to art. I love listening to you speak about artbooks. Also, I know this is a long shot but....Id love to hear your speak about the album "Everywhere at the end of time" its concept and its art.

This video made me realise that I need to get into watching movies 😭 listening to you talk about everything that goes into such a movie from an artistic POV just makes me want to dive deeper. I tend to watch movies very casually, but as I'm developing my eye, I can appreciate visual storytelling and worldbuilding much more. I love nerding out over stuff like this anyway, but now it might have a purpose, which is to make more art 😆👍

Hello, I have found your videos really interesting and well. I was just wondering, how much time do you think it's ok for drawing a commission that is complex, like one with an scenario, one character, lots of details and of course full color? I mean also in digital or with watercolor? How fast should an artist work? Thank u if read this, and see ya

I kinda funny how often I buy a new artbook and a couple of days later you make a episode on it...
Maybe you could do a top 10 artbooks episode, maybe before Christmas as a gift guide.
I’m curious what you would pick seems or taste seems to be quite similar

@@crowkangi yeah I was reeallly excited, and I saw it, and I was completely blown away - again. SURPRISE: it's a brilliant film lol. I can't say it's the masterpiece 2049 was but probably the best film of 2021 and I think the entire decade so far (oc from what I've seen). But if not, it's still my favourite because it dares to be different and not the mainstream and that's why I think Denis Villeneuve is the new master of sci-fi (in the 2010s). He focuses only on his work, he excludes everything else, he doesn't care about the expectations of our time. He dares to create something new, something darker, gloomier and more serious. He doesn't smudge his works with our world's expectations. He just adapts because these universes (Philip K. Dick or Frank Herbert) have already been created. All he had to do was to adapt and dream the pages to the bigscreen, but how SENSATIONAL he did! If we see just one pixel or one shot from one of his sci-fi films, we already realising that he is an absolute lover of what he's doing, an absolute lover of these universes, and that's why he's and his movies are sooo brilliant. He doesn't care about the money too, he is still that 5 years old kid, who's just wanna buy a Star Wars costume for the birthday party, full of emotions, ideas, plans. But he's still an incredibly talented and really smart director, knows what he's doing, and he's doing it for that 5 years old little boy in the deep.
