- Welcome to the first episode of ACTING 101, a new monthly podcast that will be uploaded to this channel on the last Friday of every month, featuring recurring cast members Ben Starr, Erika Ishii, and Abubakar Salim.
Ben: / the_ben_starr & / the_ben_starr
Erika: / theerikaishii & / erikaishii
Abu: / abzysalim & / abzybabzy
everyone's comedic timing is impeccable. Abubakar, Ben, and Erika really starting off strong
We got PWL 2 before GTA 6.
(Love this crew btw)
Abubaker has, since his first appearance on Critical Role, been one of the coolest dudes ever. So cool to see him on here with incredible people I just generally know more about.
Damn, what a dream team! I’ll be eagerly following this series, I’m not an actor but I’m sure I can still learn a lot from you guys which I can apply to life and music 🙌🏾
Piggybacking off of what Alanah brought up around the 1:10:00 mark, she mentions that when people act crying, they bawl their eyes out, whereas people actually crying will try to hold back from crying.
This reminds me of an acting tip I heard once when working on a project. When an actor is trying to act drunk, they shouldn’t be acting outrageously silly or completely letting loose, because that’s not what people do. To properly act like a drunk person, the key is to act like a person who is trying to act sober. A drunk person will try to act like they are not drunk.
Anyways stuff like that fascinates me.
A lot of acting is straight uo philosophy yeah.
Ok, 4 G.O.A.Ts on my screen, thank you Alanah!
Erika is amazing!! Best person to kick off this series.
Ben starr is my new favourite character in the alanah pearce cinematic universe, such a girlboss
Every podcast has Alanah like spotting the mischief maker 🤣
I love assassin's creed origins so much I was obsessed with Egyptian mythology since I was a kid being able to explore ancient Egypt was brilliant.....all I can hear is bayek when abubakar talks
ERIKA?! THE CLOWN COMMENT
I've only had this podcast for 1 hour, 17 minutes, and 44 seconds, but if anything happened to it, I would [redacted] everyone in this comment section and then myself.
Two Critical Role guest players (Erika and Abubakar), and a Natural Six permanent cast member (Ben). Someone get Alanah on a D&D actual play. Also, everyone watch Natural Six, it's really good.
I love all these people individually so I'll def be tuning in to future episodes!
Awesome people ! Very excited to enjoy this monthly show. Thank you Alanah
This is a truly specular cast for a podcast. A++ thank you. I loved Ben's interview and am so happy to have more of him on the internet.
You Gotta love Ben calling himself a 4, when he’s clearly a 10. He’s just the best ❤
I love how your advice isn’t just limited to acting. It’s so inspiring and applicable to various aspects of life! When you mentioned going out and letting people know about yourself, it really resonated with me. I’m (hopefully) graduating with my PhD in a little more than a year and plan to start making more frequent trips to Tokyo to network and let people know I’m on the job hunt. I was a bit skeptical about it but this episode really encouraged me and damn y'all are so funny! This cheered me up, thank you!
In true PWL sibling form, I love that Acting 101 is equal parts unexpectedly chaotic yet equally compelling. Fantastic group.
"Hi I'm Alanah pearce, video game writer, actress, voice actress, youtuber, twitch streamer and charity advocate."
Building an impressive resume
Talk about an S rank class of people! Love them all!
Alanah, you're the master of finding chemistry amongst people. This is a great cast. Can't wait for the next episode. :)
The Play, Watch, Listen cinematic universe has grown and I love it. Looking forward to next month's episode.
1:05:05 - I've actually fallen in love with a manga/anime that deals with this very thought, except it had nothing to do with writing or acting, but... painting traditional Japanese doll faces. The main character who was just a kid with no friends makes a friend (and makes cosplay for said friend) and starts experiencing life more and it actually helps him with his art. I think that probably goes hand in hand with a lot of artistic endeavors. If you go and experience stuff, it helps inform your art. It can only make you better. That's why I find podcasts like this and PWL so interesting. Even just listening to this and the PWL crews talk inspire me.
omg what a fantastic lineup, all fantastic spokespeople for the craft
Also, this was a wonderful podcast! Really good, looking forward to the future episodes.
new podcast (great episode, amazing cast), acting in a movie, writing for a new dev team, just doing so much cool stuff. As a long time viewer I feel proud of you and as a fan of your content... love to see it cause it's more dope things to see lol
Alanah, you put together great podcasts. I love the cast already!
Dear Ben and Abu. When will we see you voicing as Raziel and Kain? I'll ask this question in every piece of media I see you both in, until it happens.
Great first episode!
Great choices Alanah, all 4 people are amazing.
What an awesome crew and first episode!! 👏🏼 Ben Starr crushed it as Clive in FFXVI and was my favorite performance in any video game last year 🤩
Met Mike and Kate an fan expo (on alanah's birthday). Two of the nicest people.
Love this combination of people, can't wait for the next episode!
I've never triggered a panic attack, but my imagination is such that daydreaming a scene in my head can trigger emotion as if I'm living what I'm imagining. It's very weird.
This was seriously fantastic to watch!
Never change Ben, you are awesome.
The dry british humour is on point
This is just lovely.
Alyn from HOTD ?? Woah
This was wonderful, charming, insightful and so silly! Can’t wait for more!
roughly 50:00 onwards reminds me of that Laurence Olivier quote when Dustin Hoffman stayed awake for 48 hours straight to simulate the torment of his character: "Why not try acting dear boy?"
I've said it before and I'll say it again, but I need Ben to lull me to sleep with bedtime stories. That voice is smooth
28:32 is absolutely hilarious 😂 reactions are priceless
So here for the chaotic energy. Informative and funny. Alanah you assemble the best groups.
Love these people. I have to say that I am a HUGE fan of Raised By Wolves and Abubakar did such an incredible job on that show. And Tales of Kenzera: Zau is a wonderful and beautiful game!
Amazing first episode!
This was great
All my favourite people in one place talking about stuff, jeez louise
I’m absolutely down! I’ll follow Ben anywhere he goes, he’s such a lovely human being
Great podcast, would you consider adding topic times in the description?
Ben is such a massive talent, and his passion and work ethic are clearly at the forefront.
With that said however, fuck me is he one handsome and charming sonnofabych. Like my goodness what the Hell man.
He so handsome for Halloween this year he might as well just dress up as a wet floor sign
That's showbiz!
Ben Starr? I’m fucking in. Cant wait to get to know the crew
Another awesome podcast brought to us by Alanah(but side note, bring back Red Lips, Orange Car please!). Great cast here, I've known these people to always give great interviews but never realized how funny they could be. Now I'm even more hyped to listen to Abubakar on an upcoming Sacred Symbols+ episode.
good stuff!
Vhs is a great series. At least the shudder releases are. Was already excited about alanahs appearance. Had no idea of siegel and flannagans involvement. Way more excited now
Should be a crime her name isn't on the poster. Snubbed just like ragnarok
I like memes too, congrats on the new podcast series
Great first entry, but can I just say that it was shockingly very _on topic_ for a PWL performance.
Hahahaha
Thats because of the lack of Austin Wintory
Yay new show!
amazing episode!
Fantastic watch. Thank you
PWL X A101 Special Event crossover needs to happen 😂
Adam of hull!!!!
This is a great show and looking forward to future episodes! Hopefully for the next episodes they spell my last name right in the credits 😂
Oh no I’m so sorry! I’ll flag it!
@@PlayWatchListen it’s all good. I think it’s funny for this episode 😂
OMG it's Eros & Hermes and that one guy from that one episode of You!
GTA V was the same year as The Last Of Us.
amazing ep
I'm Loving this new cast! cant wait for more to come!
Not gonna lie, until i read the title, carefully and in full, i didn't realise this was a new podcast featuring these people on the play watch listen channel. The thumbnail didn't register in the slightest. I thought it was someone's indie video game news show.
Omg I love this
BAYEK OF SIWA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol I’m dying!😭Ben Starr is something else
House of dragons is so fucking good
After seeing Abubakar on so many podcasts this year I really want to watch Raised by Wolves but HBO decided that they'd rather not pay royalties or something so it's not available anywhere that I can find. Does anyone know where I can buy/rent it?
I'm a fan of you and Apex, so I'll check it out lol
Good watch! Think I’ll stay…
Who tf out here is yelling "blindness"?
Love is Blind US season 6 was sooo messy (allways too messy for it's own good )
Highly recommend
I'd like to see Troy Baker guest on the show 😁
Which show? Naked Attraction? 😂
@@adamwhitehead7289 lol I'm sure many people would but not for me 😁.
Does this mean that PWL is finally dead?😂😂
No!
Alanah is Bae!!!!!!🥰😍😘❤
Wow abubakar does not give a single fuck
alanah do you want suggestions for mainly voice actors or just actors in general?
I thought in this situation body count should be characters played
Huge
Interesting evolution of Acting 101. You could have gone without that political "commentary" near the end, as it didn't really work even as a joke, but overall looking forward to future episodes.
You can talk about games you've been in just not promote them
So I'm guessing thats just actively promoting? Like some people might buy a game because they found out an actor the like is in it or.its made by a director/studio they like..or even just as a TH-cam people respect your opinion and may make a purchase just becuzs enough spike highly about it even in a non promoter way. I got the witness (thank you for thst btw) because of you for example. Or another exmaple, I heard great thing about journey but never played until 2020 when I discovered pwl and realized Austin did the music..
I guess that doest count becuase toure just speaking matter of fact and can't control whs others like/buy. You just have to not actively hype it up?
Ayo??
Yo
Damn, clowns have it rough these days.
