That's true. Here in Peru it has been on cinemas about three weeks and people continues going to see it. I went two days ago and it's real. One of the few western films that really got the spirit of an anime/manga.

I only hope more filmmakers are brave enough to stand against adversary instead of sell out.

It happened with The Last Jedi. Disney bullied Cinemas into showing it more than any other film. They had to show it on their biggest screen for 4 weeks & had to give Disney 65% of revenue with an additional 5% if they 'broke the conditions' and the threat that Disney wouldn't allow then to show any of their films if they refused the offer. There's plenty of links out there to confirm this.

When I went to go buy tickets ahead of time to see Thor Ragnarok, I saw that the theater was pretty wide open too. I've noticed that a lot of people still buy their tickets the day of the showing. The point is that don't use this as a fact to prove your point on how people are not interested in seeing Captain Marvel. Not everyone buys their tickets this far ahead of time. However, if you check the day before and the day of the release of Captain Marvel and see that the theater is still pretty much wide open, then this can be used as a valid point on why people don't want to see the film.

It's funny I did the same thing. Called the theater, asked when How to train your Dragon was. I also then talked to a friend that used to work at a theater. They don't update times until about Monday or Tuesday for the following weekend. Only new releases are shown before that time.
Woah, I live in London and just checked the two theaters I normally go to and for the weekend of the 8th, they are only showing Captain Marvel on the websites, there are no other movies shown. Never seen that before. Also, sky diving is amazing you will love it!
@@Marcusismify it depends on the size of the theater. My theater is big and it has 22 rooms and most of the time when a blockbuster is playing 13 other movies are still available with at least 4 showtimes throughout the day.
The theater near my home is an AMC multiplex that normally has roughly two dozen movies showing on any given day. On Captain Marvel's opening day and for a week after that, the showtimes on Fandango indicate that there are only five movies scheduled to be showing per day in that theater (including Captain Marvel). However, the number of showings of Captain Marvel per day is on par with what is normal for a wide-release science fiction or superhero film from a major studio. Moreover, Fandango normally does not list the full schedule of showtimes that far in advance, presumably because the theaters only schedule the showings of the more major films 1-2 weeks in advance, while determining the number & times of the showings for more minor films only 3-4 days in advance as ticket sales figures for their previous showings become available. I cannot speak for other theaters, but for this theater it does not appear that Captain Marvel has displaced other films from the theater, either partially or entirely.
Work at a theater we never release schedule til tuesdays for the upcoming weekend. presales for opening weekend on big movies are available weeks ahead of time though
Here in my country for the first week or so, there literally is nothing but Captain Marvel and one local-made movie in all of the theatres in town. Usually each theatre would have like at least 2 or 3 others. I didn't think much about it when it happened, but thinking back, I don't think this was happening when it was How to Train Your Dragon running. It wasn't even like this with Infinity War last year. If there's some kind of conspiracy going on behind the scenes, it explains a lot.
I don't get the worry people have about theatres only playing Captain Marvel. The theatres near me always have most show times for each new week empty until the night before wide release or the day of. Big new releases are often, in turn, selling tickets weeks in advance.
Just wanna point out that you rock those hair curls better than Brie... :) Anyway, I wanna see a painting of Darth Vader in a Hawaiian outfit vacationing in Hawaii with Luke, Leia and Padme
Movie is releasing at March 7th and on 6th there is a Men's Night with Captain Marvel. Lucky in Europe is different in USA so we got all movies up on sites to buy tickets.
I did the same and got the same story. I'm in CA as well, and was told the full movie schedule will be up by Tuesday. It also sounded like I was not the only person who had called about this.
I smell a rat! The very fact that you had to call in the first place to find out what's going on is a dead give away in itself. They may have all been instructed to respond this way to any enquiries about the schedule of other movies. It appears that Disney are working very hard to ensure Captain Marvel does welll at the box office.
I worked for the AMC theaters many years ago and I can honestly guarantee that there are hidden agendas for promoting one film over another. The theaters get bonuses for doing this and selling a certain amount of tickets.
@Josh F Totally agree with you, can you imagine how much germs are lingering in the cup holders 🤮...Plus most of the screening are not set up properly or maintained, I tend to only go cinema for big action/scifi IMAX screening nowadays.
weird, my local theater shows on thursday captain marvel and other movies schedule but if you look on Friday or later it only shows Captain marvel. It can't be that they don't know the schedule because they have never had this problem before. Very interesting...
It's not even a conspiracy, it's a fact and it's not suprising. Disney is driven by the search of perfection and the control of their image is one of their most powerful tool.
Considering the viewership of past Marvel movies, I'm sure most theater managers are expecting a blockbuster. Even with the outrage, theaters should be able to fill the seats for a few days anyhow at worst. But I do think the film will under sell expectations.
I think they may be listing only Captain Marvel under the assumption that it could be a big enough movie that they might legitimately sell out multiple theaters' worth of seats. Remember that right now they're in the presale period, turnout could be huge or it could be that it'll be small enough that they'll only show it on 2 or 3 screens and devote their other screens to different movies. Anyway even if Disney has somehow paid off the theaters to only show their movie, or if theaters routinely do things like this where they clear the decks for movies they expect to be big box office draws, it's not like people have to go to the theater every weekend to see a movie. My family has a tradition of going to see a movie on Black Friday instead of going shopping, with this sometimes being the only movie we'd go to in a year, but there are some years when we've skipped it because nothing at the theater looked interesting.
I've seen what the main theatre websites are planning for 8th March here in Australia. In all my years of theatre going I've never seen this happen. The only film showing for 4-5 days is Captain Woke.
I already planned to call them if it was not put up on the 4th. Cuz not being able to buy a ticket a week before is annoying, for the risk of not being able to get the best seats is bigger the close to the date

It's normal for my theater to post the upcoming schedule for a new release before the coming week's schedule for everything else, so I'm not worried about it.
The ones near me here in the southeast of the UK are still showing over movies but fewer movies and fewer screenings. Its funny because as far as I can tell, not many people are booked to see Captain Marvel.
They are doing the same thing over here in Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga California for three days only captain marvel . Both AMC theatres and Edwards theaters same thing happened during the last jedi .
In Australia this is for a whole week countrywide. Nothing remotely like this has ever happened like this before. There are always a dozen shows showed 12 days ahead. I asked a ticker girl when going to see Alita and she wasn't allowed to say why.
Maybe you are right about the theaters not done with their scheduling, but my theater right now only have Captain Marvel listed as only showing for about three days. I'll come back to this comment on Friday. EDIT: Never mind, my theater still shows How to train your dragon 3 and Alita, among others on Friday. Thank God.
With so many people bitching and whining about Captain Marvel and supporting Alita, it’s amazing how few people actually know how theaters operate. This is the way things have been done since before the internet, only back then you had to physically go pick up your tickets early
The real conspiracy is that Disney will force theater groups to add Captain Marvel showings on extra screens with penalty of less availability for End Game if the theaters don't comply.

@@emilygreen5599IDK at least in my area, I had to get my tickets way ahead of time for Marvel movies I wanted to see , I really wasn't making a point I was merely stating what I have observed in my area. but if I was a movie exec. betting this movie was going to do well I would be slightly worried lol
Check again on Monday or Tuesday to see if they still have no listings. They usually update by then.
@@3AHoles > Yep. This has been covered pretty good. You can see other movies that day.
This is the first time in my experience that every single theater in my state and neighboring states that I have pulled up where there was only one new movie available to purchase tickets for on opening weekend. When I reserved tickets for last Jedi on opening day, I was able to also able to purchase tickets for other movies, and it was the same for Black Panther and AntMan&Wasp.
In my theatre, when I went to see "Alita battle angel" I look up at the tvs where they show which movies they have. Every single tv was showing "Captain Marvel" and there were 15 tvs. Then when I went in the room where you see the movie, before the film started all the Ads were about" Captain Marvel ". I'm one of the happy peaple is the city that were able to actually watch Alita, because from today(monday) there will be only Captain Marvel.
Sorry if my English is bad! It's not my first language!
Aussie here! I could be wrong but theatres here tend to hold on times till a few days before the due date. I remember this being a thing when I was searching for times to Blade Runner 2049 later in the month. (Travel reasons!) There were no bookings available for any films that far iin advance so I can only surmise your analysis is spot on.
Also, I love what you did with your hair. =P
I live in Thunder Bay Ont Canada. A city with a mere 100k in the remote wilderness. I was shocked to find out that Alita won’t be in theatres on March 8th. Unreal.
So in South Texas we're having the same issue. It's hilarious
Hey Anna!!
Just found ur channel and love it. While I don’t agree with you on a lot of things I respect and admire your passion and opinions.
Too often people only watch content with creators they agree with, but honestly that’s so boring, I like to branch out and watch all viewpoints.
You are amazing and an inspiration to me as a fellow content creator !!
Ahsoka shows up in Rebels? Now I need to see it! And the rain is nuts. My kids have been stuck inside all day.
WOW, this is true. At my theater, you can buy tickets for any other movie except on Thursday.
I heard that Marvel does this with a lot of their movies during opening week.
Marvel doesnt own theaters😂
I was able to purchase tickets for other movies during AntMan&Wasp and Black Panther's opening weekend
Every studio does this.
@@Marcusismify it depends on the size of the theater. My theater is big and it has 22 rooms and most of the time when a blockbuster is playing 13 other movies are still available with at least 4 showtimes throughout the day.
A female who isn't watching captain marvel on release day.... how is this possible???? is hollywood lying to me?
Here in Australia you can only buy tickets online for Captain Marvel during the opening weekend (except for Green Book). Checked a few sites.
Absolutely love your videos. Keep it up Anna!
Work at a theater we never release schedule til tuesdays for the upcoming weekend. presales for opening weekend on big movies are available weeks ahead of time though
My mom, her friend and I went to see Captain Marvel movie opening weekend, and the movie theater was packed.
Your hair looks great Anna!
Zip It, you perv
Omg ! I just looked up my theater ! I'm in the UK, in a smaller town and they only show Captain Marvel times for the next week-end !
I'll admit when I'm wrong. Watched Quartering, SC and G&G earlier today.
yep! me too, jumped the gun.
Yes. Odin's blog & now That Star Wars Girl. They're doing a good job of quelling the rumor.
In Seattle the Friday night showing for captain marvel was "Sold out" but the theater was only 1/2 full.
Ana That Star Wars Girl and the beauty and elegance of the Fandom😍 Love ya Girl!!
Great vid!
"I'm gonna be in Hawaii when Captain Marvel has premier" pfft... show off.. lol :-P
And skydiving :O
melle kaliki maka
Looking forward to the painting. May the force be with you.
I see you with them curls! 🙌🔥 great video again!! Have fun in Hawaii!
My local theater took Alita down for no apparent reason last week, but I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews just in my town...
Can't wait to see the painting. Have a great time skydiving in Hawaii!
Normally I do not like girl youtubers, but I think you are a great TH-camr! Your videos are really good! Keep it up!
*Why would you jump out of a perfectly good airplane, Anna?!*
lol - Hope you enjoy your trip!
I worked for the AMC theaters many years ago and I can honestly guarantee that there are hidden agendas for promoting one film over another. The theaters get bonuses for doing this and selling a certain amount of tickets.
Wow: your hair looks fantastic, Ms Anna!
Just stay home & use netflix on that day, Avoid theatre on that weekend.
Sweet! I cannot wait to see this painting! Do you sell your paintings??
It's not even a conspiracy, it's a fact and it's not suprising. Disney is driven by the search of perfection and the control of their image is one of their most powerful tool.
They won't let you return pre order tickets as well
Considering the viewership of past Marvel movies, I'm sure most theater managers are expecting a blockbuster.
Wish I didn't find this channel. Now if I ever meet her irl I'll be fanzoned😪
We also need a video of your skydive! Sounds cool!
Anna I really hope I win this eBay auction I'm on...2 days left and it's some rare Labyrinth swag for a great price. Your Brie vids were the best of G+G and even CG so consider it a 1st place trophy.
Can you make a video about Brie Larson wanting to be in star war's. 😂😂😭😭😭
Brian, don't!
A-well-a everybody's heard about the Brie!
Brie Brie Brie, B-Brie's the word

Well, everybody knows that the Brie is the word!

Right now, she'd fit in perfectly.

What's she gonna do in Star Wars? Use the force to telepathically tell every male that they don't need to be in her galaxy? :D
@@Adeno not sure it was in one of Jeremy videos 😂😂😂
Your new do looks great, keep up the great content!
It's normal for my theater to post the upcoming schedule for a new release before the coming week's schedule for everything else, so I'm not worried about it.
By the way SC from Australia says it could very well be the same situation you describe Anna. But with Disney anything's possible.
The ones near me here in the southeast of the UK are still showing over movies but fewer movies and fewer screenings. Its funny because as far as I can tell, not many people are booked to see Captain Marvel.
I’ve never seen anything like that for other marvel movies. I’ll be checking my local theaters.
They are doing the same thing over here in Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga California for three days only captain marvel . Both AMC theatres and Edwards theaters same thing happened during the last jedi .
watching Captain Marvel vs swimming with turtles in Hawaii......good call and have a great trip!!
In Australia this is for a whole week countrywide. Nothing remotely like this has ever happened like this before. There are always a dozen shows showed 12 days ahead. I asked a ticker girl when going to see Alita and she wasn't allowed to say why.
Very cool scene, looking forward to seeing your painting
The Captain Marvel movie physically assaulted me I need a lawyer.
I like your hair...you changed it.
That Vader scene was one of my favorites.
I see what were doing here TH-cam gona be pulling their hair!!! Love it👊👍😊🙌 ultimate troll. P.s Awesome Hair Fandom sis.
Thank God.
Star Wars girl , more like bae girl 😍. She's looking gorgeous today.
