Disagree. There are a few elements of the classic costume that made it iconic, bright vivid colors and emblem being one of them. Those would have been enough.
I am so incredibly excited for this film. I want to leave the cinema feeling inspired after watching a Superman film. Fully expect James Gunn to crush it!
To introduce Superman into a world full of superheroes I think he needs to make his first in costume appearance when multiple other heroes are losing a fight against a strong threat, then this new hero arrives and just destroys the threat without breaking a sweat, showing the world that this guy is different.
The Snyder/Cavill iconography is unmistakable. And i love that the score seems to be a mix of both Williams and Zimmer. I wish Cavill's arc had been completed and that the Syderverse had a proper ending, but this poster has great promise. Can't wait for Thursday.

the posters design and music are giving me a bit of an ethereal spiritual feel, very emotional, and I would be all for that cause thats an aspect missing from the previous films.
I feel like it's just going to be 30 seconds of narration with quick shots of each character with different facial expressions and at the end it shows the character who was talking

@ that’s fine, I grew up with the Chris reeves movies. The soundtrack to me is iconic, so much so they used certain tracks and motifs for superman returns in 06. I like parts of zimmers score I own the cd. But for me it’s hearing that familiar sound with a modern spin and it’s just got me hopeful for a more traditional sound.

I'm sure someone has commented this already but the music in the post James Gunn made is the official new score, and it is a reprisal of John Williams' original theme. Absolutely epic!
The score given is great! It's definitely a mix of Hans Zimmer's theme and John Williams theme. I don't think either one will be prominent in the main score. I simply believe this is the intro to the new score as a homage and passing of the torch.
Speaking generally of the poster my first impression is that it had the same color palette as the Netflix intro when you open it. I mean, I am right up done in there. Literally, the future of Gunn's DCU hangs in the balance to whether the first teaser trailer makes a good impression or not. So we will see what it brings up to be. 4:32 I definetly loved Hans Zimmer's masterful themes from Man of Steel. I still use to listen them from time to time. 4:34 My favorite ones were "Flight", "If you love this people" and definetly "what are you going to do when you are not saving the world."
Theme really did it for me. I love most of the Superman themes! Love John Williams and Hanz Zimmers score so much. I really love the theme from Superman & Lois too. This theme almost moved me to tears cause it felt so majestic

I am in disbelief that James Gunn could allow a huge miss like that to make the first movie of DCU not being as good as everyone was hyping up, all I hope, the most incredible experience ever in theaters, because it's been a long time since the last Superman movie, James Gunn isn't allowed to fail after all that, and the feeling I have is upmost hope, this is the movie of hope, we can't be backstabbed when it comes out, I want to be crying of joy, just like Deadpool and Wolverine did, that movie made me a happy kid again, and next year this movie must be awesome, and well thoughout or it's going to be sad... I'm not ready to see it sink, it would be equal to watch Brazil versus German disaster.... I think this poster is secretly screaming "Hope" not just because of Superman, but because it's the only hope we got for this new DCU movies.... All about hope.
The Transformers One competition is so apt. That trailer made it look like Super Mario Brothers Movie type of kids fluff. I had no interest in it. Then I happened to catch it last week. Great movie! Shame it wasn’t marketed well.
I honestly and genuinely hope that this is the ONLY poster that they release for this movie. This poster is perfection. We seriously do not need a billionth floating head poster. I fucking hate the floating head poster trend garbage. Every single movie does one now and I am sick of it. It is so lazy and uninspired. Teaser posters 99.99% of the time are always leagues better than the second poster.

I really hope the trailer starts with this and rolls into the "dum dah dum...dum dah dum dum da dum..." I'm so ready for an uplifting Superman (Hoechlin turned out great but I need a proper big screen Superman who's not a cynic the way Snyder's was...I don't blame Cavill for that one).
