    Artist Louise Fletcher's process video I mentioned can be seen here: • Try this technique in ...
    This video is all about what you can do when you want to have fun and loosen up in your painting style.
    I experiment with texture and combining different types of drawing and painting media. The video is in realtime and I talk about what happens underway including surprising effects and results.
    Using charcoal and soft pastels I explore different intersting and inspiring effects that can be achieved when combined with water and applied in a somewhat unusual way. I'm trying out both linen canvas and paper to see the difference and I'm in for a surprise at the end when I seem to have inadvertently painted a large bear in one of the paintings.

    Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you experiment with those pieces of canvas and I saw the Bear, and a couple of dogs faces in the bottom one too. I’m definitely inspired to try this out too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤

    Initially the charcoal on the bottom looked like little bit cave art. (Buffalo) We have a small number of buffalo 🦬 across western Canada. I think we had to get them from the USA because we killed them all off in Canada! Doesn’t sound like something polite Canadian’s would do, does it. But it’s true, after all we had a Wild West also 😮

    You could try stitching the pieces together and the stitching would be part of a new artwork. Aka Frankenstein

    Any suggestions about fixatives for pastels?
    I’ve never used before

      Any fixative suitable for pastels/charcoal/graphite should be fine. I use different brands and don’t have a preference. Hope that helps

    What suggestions do you have for a sketch book?

    • @TheDanishPainter
      @TheDanishPainter  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Use what you already have or go for mixed media or watercolor sketchbooks as they can take more water without creasing and buckling. Happy painting 🎨🎨
