Booster Gold faces the heavy burden of crowd control while the ultimate battle for the planet happens the next street over. It's hard being a Green Lantern.
Same here man, it was also one my favorite episodes. The message was quite interesting, I interpreted it as “you may not get the most glamorous job or be seen be everybody but if you keep going forward and thinking positively, things will work out” Granted he was selfish at the beginning but he went through an entire arc in that episode, and that really sold it for me. Plus, he got the hot physicist so that’s a W in my book.
Isn't it amazing that a near 20 year old cartoon has more believable characters than modern movie? Booster is a hero, but he still has flaws such as vanity and greed. Despite these flaws he still does what's right thing when push comes to shove. The Doctor is smart, beautiful, and capable; but still needs help. She doesn't ever give up, but she needs help, she can't do everything herself. She also shows gratitude for the help she received.
Well, Shakespeare was writing 400 years ago, so 20 year-old writing being good isn't that weird. Mostly a matter of what executives are charge of a particular production and how much value they put on developing characterization in the script.
Plus Booster does have an arc and he himself gains humility like the moment when Skeets tells him he missed a “golden” opportunity to kiss the girl Booster responds “heroes kiss girls, I’m no hero”.
This reminds me of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode called "The Zeppo". In that episode Xander Harris gets sidelined from a world ending menace by his more powerful friends, only to end up fighting off killer zombies, but no one else notices him saving the day. Meanwhile the world ending menace thing takes place in the background, like this sorcerer attacking.
I kinda love that JLU went and made a lot of the "silly" (at least in terms of mainstream knowledge) JLA members like Aquaman and Booster Gold and just made them freaking bad ass (Even though they were pretty cool already in the comics... Though I always thought of Booster Gold as being a duo with Blue Beetle)
Plastic Man doesn't just stretch and is one of the most underrated powerful heroes of the Justice League. He's also a goofball so people don't take him that seriously.
Yeah! He's not a detective like Elongated Man/Ralph is, but Plastic Man is more versatile in his powers than Ralph, since Eel is able to take on colors for one thing as well as being seen as easily one of the most powerful members of the League, even if he's a goofball because he doesn't like to be reminded of his past actions as a criminal.
Booster is so fun, he wants all the glory and rewards of being "The World's Greatest Hero" with doing as little effort as possible. Even down to time traveling by accident, he literally stumbles into most good deeds, but sometimes he learns a little.
Legit, kind of sad we didn't get more of Booster in JLU, would have been nice to see him hanging out with Ted Lord and the two of them having an epic buddy cop style episode where they take on someone like Grodd who understandably underestimates them and they manage to pull it off with hijinks.
Know that feeling man. About a year ago, me and my old man would watch Justice League/Unlimited as a morning tradition. Ended on the last episode, and it felt bittersweet
God I love Booster Gold. One of my first comics was the 52 mini series and it made me love Booster and then I fell down a Blue and Gold rabbit hole starting with the Booster Gold mini series
'Booster Gold: The greatest hero you've never heard of... UNTIL NOW!' When Justice League devotes itself to comedy, it usually does it really well. See also: The Great Brain Robbery. Patriot Act also had a similar concept.
I hate that scene where j’ohn hangs up on booster gold he didn’t even hear him out it’s good to know I can count on these guys if there’s a life threatening situation I don’t care if they got their hands busy with something else you do not hang up on calls like that arrow was right in a big club like that you do forget about the little guy
I haven't watched this show in a while so feel free to correct me. But is there a reason Booster Gold was on crown control other than him being a glory hound while the Vigilante and Shining Knight are helping fight? Booster's an idiot in this episode, but he does have future technology, I feel like that's more valuables than a cowboy and a knight.
Guessing they didn’t trust him at that point to make the right decisions at the proper moment, that he’d make a choice to try and get fame and money that ends up in disaster.
Jeremy Piven as Elongated Man, Billy west, the voice of Fry from Futurama as Booster Golds assistant Bot (pitched up) and currently incarcerated Lori Laughlin as the voice of the doctor in this episode. What a cast hahah
Booster Gold is one of those characters that if he was made today that he would be made into a villain. He's too crass but oozes with charisma that marketing would think audiences would hate.
Or they’d make him too cig if a her fans would eventually ahte him OR get tuned into a joke but he is a white male so he’ll probably get written off somehow 😂😂😂
Booster gold ironically appears in media a lot yet has never truly broke out like other characters with heavy media pushes. Even blue beetle’s getting a movie now yet nothing is in the pipeline for booster.
@@Megaproductions302 well I’m hoping it isn’t arrowverse cuz from what I’ve seen, it’s less of the traditional hero for clout/ greatest hero you’ve never heard of booster and more of a drifter through time sorta thing.
4:50 that didnt really make sense, mr fantastic is one of the top 2 smartest beings in all of marvel and has created multiversal portals, time travel, a interdimensional ship able to go out the multiverse, is considered the only human in marvel that can truly understand the cosmos.
Can't get over how dark the series is. Hated the justice league and justice friends shows but randomly caught an episode of this when it originally aired. Recently picked up the complete series. The first disc alone is a good enough hook. Can't recommend the series enough. Hell yeah booster gold.
This show was solid gold. Every DC cartoon made from the 90's to the early 2000's makes every big budget cape film and comic made in the modern era look like immature bullshit. Where did all the talent go?
This. I really hate how a lot of people praise the Snyder cut while such thing like JLU and DCAU exist its like comparing polished diamond(JLU and DCAU) and polished turd(Snyder Cut)
@@fukaze2021 Agreed. I don't even think the Snydef cut should've even got made. All it did was reward a bunch of spoiled whiny fanboys and teach them that you can always get what you want if you just throw a loud enough temper tantrum.
At the end of the episode, i wonder what would batman do to booster gold, when he will find out that booster didn't help clean the city after the battle with mordru?
Eh, Rubberband Man from Static Shock wasn't bad, but I think that's more because he's the most relatable of those types of characters. Dude just wanted a music career.

This is one of my favorite JLU episodes when I was little. Made me love Booster Gold also.
This episode not only introduced me to Booster Gold, but also made me a legitimate fan of the character in general.

This was actually my introduction to Booster Gold, I wish they had him in more stuff
You and me both. Travis Van Winkle would be a perfect fit as a Live Action Booster Gold.
This is actually my second intro to Booster Gold. My first, unironically, was Smallville.
Justice League Action also had a couple great Booster Gold episodes.
@@nonnayerbusiness7704 Justice League Action was handled so poorly by Cartoon Network, deserved better.
Guess you're getting your wish now
I could have sworn Booster Gold was in more episodes of JLU. I still cheered when he appeared in Brave and the Bold.
He was but they were Cameos, no dialogue
Booster is so fun, he wants all the glory and rewards of being "The World's Greatest Hero" with doing as little effort as possible. Even down to time traveling by accident, he literally stumbles into most good deeds, but sometimes he learns a little.
Best Green Lantern episode ever. Even if they did get his costume wrong.
I feel there is nothing more appropriate than Booster Gold's sidekick, Skeets, being voiced by Billy West. AKA Fry of Futurama.

"Scientists who have big black holes in their body"
Didn't The X-Files already do that plot back in the 1990s?

I haven't seen Justice League in a while... oof, scratching that itch.
I can't decide if it's funny or sad that this show is still ten times better than Snyder's Justice League.
