Good explanation, but I have to say, on the written test you have to be exact, and you have to extrapolate the mid point between the two altimeter settings. If you don't you won't get the right answer.
I appreciate your feedback. On the test the answer are so difference that the difference in the altimeter setting of 100 ft will not make a difference. with the rounded altimeter of 29.30 the answer 8,557. with the rounded altimeter of 29.20 the answers 8,657.... the answer choices are A) 4,600 feet MSL. B) 5,877 feet MSL. C) 8,500 feet MSL. the answer on the test is C) 8,500 C is the only answer that can be right but if you calculate the exact DA using 29.25 the PA is actually 8607. So that is why I say that you cant round because it will give you the right answer on the test , as well as a really good answer in real life. If you see any other ones that i may have gotten wrong please me know . I went back to do the math to make sure I didn't give give bad info. Thanks for the input !
And im buyin it as soon as it drop i dont kno why its easier to consume your content maybe its because you look and talk like me then flying the warbird i would like to own or even fly a F4U Corsair one day in a show eventually go to PSA as my Regional then Flow to American your a big Inspiration KT I wish i had all the to describe how much of a motivation you are been stuck on Private for awhile and these videos jus hit different in the explanation of things thank you
A very Helpfull tip for anyone who is strugling with this. in the book it tells you to interpolate the two above and below that of which you have (i.e they give you the pressure of 29.25, so you take 29.2 and 29.3 and do all this crazy stuff that nobosy understand to interpolate it) Well a shorter way to do that, and get the SAME resut is to find the differemce between the two. Example: 29.2 = 673’ and 29.3 = 579’ to find the difference simply minus 579’ frm 673’ and you get 94. which is the same answer that the book gets after doing all this interpolation work. a few questions after this one it says to do it this way with no context so it makes it even more confusing, now when you see the question i am taking about it will make since.
This is much easier. I thought I had to interpolate which I struggle to understand. So I guess I just round it off and see which answer is the closest?
My man, I have been stuck on this for a minute. Lot of other great videos out there but this one just made it click. 1 step closer to Acing my exam.
Thanks for putting in the time to provide this good intel.
