Love the video. Subscribed! Consider adjusting the sound levels, or splitting up the segments where you include road noise (8:36). You present information really well, I'd just like to be able to hear it all! Other than that, brilliant work. Looking forward to great things from this channel.
Awesome review! Subscribed, thanks for this. My family and I are considering the Overtrail+ and I heard a lot of interesting points that I haven’t seen before on any of the other reviews. You have a knack for this for sure!
I too have an OT with the rock rails and Onxy roof, man I love that SUV... Out of all my Toyota / Lexus products it's my favorite. Question, does your OT have a slight extra vibration in the seat when stopped at Idle? I did not notice it at first, I do know my wife may have put Regular in it, because our GX 460 takes Regular and FJ both take regular, even though they say premium only they dont complain on 87 at all. So I ran about 3 93 Octane tank fulls through the OT and it still has the slight vibration. Took it the dealer and they said all is ok and its normal because its a Turbo... My RX 350 loaner is Turbo and did not do this. My Toyota Prado that I keep at my home in Europe is a Diesel Turbo and does have the shakes, but thats always been there. I asked the dealer if I could sit in another GX 550 and the only one they had left just sold and the rest are still pending arrival or are in Build Phase... Sorry for the rant, lol. enjoy that bad boy! Cheers!
All OT models should have the Rock Rails standard, if you are going to have 2 locking diffs, Toyo off road tires from factory, then Rock Rails are a must.
@Jim-s6i3b 1 day ago I love my 2024 Off-road Premium with KDSS, very good articulation. Use it most of the time for Overlanding, fully loaded with weight. Because of my needs bought it with rock rails, Wildpeak LT 265/70R17 tires. Added PowerBrake big brake kit in front, d-line on back. Added full length roof rack UPTOP overland, Bilstein 6112 1 inch lift and 8100 Bypass in rear, also diff breathers for rear diff and locker. Very happy, runs great on highway and off-road. Bilstein 8100 bypass and PowerBrakes, Wildpeak LT tires big improvement for my Overlanding. GX could not hold all my gear and my 4Runner more off-road worthy at much less price with upgrades. Plus proven reliability with no turbo engine.
It’s good to see an upcoming TH-cam channel who does good car reviews BUT could I ask you to pay a bit more attention to the Audio. We tried to listen to what you were saying but you don’t open your mouth when you speak and you speak way too fast, the. To top it all off everytime you went to and external view shot there was so much background noise it just drowned your voice out. I get it, you are a one man band, they are the sort of channels we prefer but we watched it three times and still aren’t exactly sure what you said. Thanks for the review, all the best 👍🏼
Cool…. But the stealth wealth Land Cruiser is the one to buy….. infact I bet if you study the household incomes of those with gx550 v. Landcruiser the landcruiser will be higher
The LX is body on frame, regardless of 600 or 700h, which contradicts what was said in the video where the reviewer said that the LX and TX are unibody on-road cruisers. TX? Yes. LX? Not in the slightest. Plus, the 700h will be in showrooms in a couple weeks.
Zero problems with the GX 550... the only problem they have is they are sold and the 24 models are in Build phase in the land cruiser plant in Japan... so many in the used car market are selling for over MSRP used... The Overtrail is badass.
Absolutely completely horrible...comparing other suv in 2024. It's completely ripoff in terms of luxury brand. Technical it's lexus badge in toyota components. I have driven on nothing feels luxury comparing older mdoel...
Bull, that has been proven absolutely false MANY times. The 200 series are 6000 stock not including payload and passengers and there are some that are built with their stock 383hp 5.7 V8. Torque makes the difference not hp, and this one has more torque than the V8. The list goes on.
@2URLex I'm very well aware about torque and I'm very well aware that 350 damn horsepower is not enough and I know the six cylinder engine has more torque than the V8 I don't have a problem with 6 cylinder engines and they could have easily offered 409 horsepower out of the same freaking damn engine!
@@chipbarfield62 again the horsepower plays no part. Not one Toyota engine needed 400 hp to off-road for the past 40 damn years!! This engine was de tuned by using smaller turbos to reduce lag, the LX600 gets the 409 hp simply because its larger and has bigger turbos on the same engine! Do your research.
@2URLex you're the most narcissistic asshole I have ever encountered on TH-cam. I've got more knowledge than you can even comprehend you fool. I'm not talking about horsepower for off-roading I'm talking about 0 to 60 horsepower you dumbass!
I've heard some very reputable car guys only give it a mediocre rating because it's not up to Lexus standards if the original CEO were still with Toyota unlike this new younger CEO that cuts corners with ride quality plus using cheap interior materials and plastics poor engine choices with no V8 engines and nothing but turbocharged four-cylinder engines that ain't worth a damn that will not stand the test of time that gave in to the Green New deal BS!
The GX has the 3.4 TT 6cyl (Non-hybrid). As a previous Lexus/Toyota owner, I have no complaints after 8500 miles of owning the OT+ trim. As matter fact, it’s one of my favorites I’ve ever had and I’ve had multiple. Such a great drive! We shall see about the reliability, but I’m not worried since Toyota seems to stand behind their vehicles. That’s my experience. Definitely more so than GM or Ford (unfortunately). IMO
@rayandolina11 Toyota has never had the kind of trouble it's having right now Sense they ousted the founding CEO Toyoda because he was not going to allow his company to be dictated by the EPA how to run his company and what kind of car is to build. This new CEO has ruined Toyota Lexus .
@@chipbarfield62 not disagreeing those points at all and I agree with regards to the direction Toyota corporate is heading. Toyotas biggest problem is them overpricing all their models compared to their competitors. But they have backed up their issues such as the huge issue of the tundra/sequoia engine replacement program. That fiasco was a manufacture problem. I’ve owned about a dozen Toyota/Lexus’ and there are things I would have done differently with the GX OT+ like accessory buttons, roof vents and other minor things but overall, my GX is living up to its nameplate. Again, it’s all subjective.
@rayandolina11 I'm glad to hear that. I love my Lexus ES 350 and the only other Lexus I would probably ever owned would be the LC 500. I wanted to buy a RX 350 but never with a 4-cylinder engine plus they ruined the looks of the new ones. It's hard to forget about all of the things the independent reviewers said on their TH-cam videos saying that this is a disappointment that it doesn't live up to the true Lexus standards.
I get it. I chose the GX over the Land Cruiser FE and one of the reasons for that was the 4banger. Im not ready to go there. I have about 75 videos saved on the GX and the vast majority are positive. Most do point out improvements that could be made but that is the case with most reviews. I can only give you my experience with it. FWIW, I had a ‘24 TX as a loaner recently and found that to be just “eh” compared to the GX. Btw, Love the ES! Great car!

A fantastic, clear and detailed review 💯
camera stabilization, audio leveling my dude.
They certainly nailed the look. I had to stop and stare the first time I saw one.

Nice to see a real 4x4 and not a crossover faking it

I expect to see the LX700h Overtrail on this channel as well with an offroad review.

I think you meant 1 locking diff and a locking transfer case... commonly found on f150's too, for example.
Perfect upgrade to the 4runner

Check out the forthcoming LX700h Overtrail

1/2” wheel spacers all the way around and I’d be good.
Best offroader you can buy. Waiting for the pathetic troll Naveen to write how bad it is lol
The LX600 is Lexus’ Flagship LUXURY BODY ON FRAME SUV , and its DNA is rooted in its best in class off-road capability. What are you talking about?
Not in the US. The LX700 Overtrail Plus with electronic lockers will not be in the states for another year.
