    I have a 2019/2020 MS Performance Raven. The stock shocks are woefully lacking in hi speed rebound. I would say they require approx.30% more hi speed rebound. There are no aftermarket adaptive shocks available. I'm wondering if I will encounter the same situation if I upgrade to d MS Plaid. Any comments on this issue will be highly appreciated.

    It’s about time we start seeing “Tuner” content for EV’s period. And being that Tesla was first to market it makes sense to start with them. I think that at its price per performance there would a be a good market for an AMG, Brabus or RUF style Tuning House for the Model S. They could offer bespoke interiors as well as performance upgrades…

    He should have done a brake test before/after. Results would probably have yielded similar results because all modern modern cars can lock up their wheels. What he most likely improved is a less vague braking sensation and a potential to dump more heat into the rotors.

    • @knroo-j1487
      @knroo-j1487 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly, if the car can already trigger ABS with the factory equipment, more brakes won't do much...that's all tire. These will improve sustained braking, though, which is nice.

    • @bdragonfry
      @bdragonfry ปีที่แล้ว

      @@knroo-j1487 The plaid can brakes very short but you really need to push hard on the brake pedal. Issue is that you loose time , and feels dangerous. I brake with my left foot and it's better. Another problem is "how many brakes can you do", and that's another story.

    • @ytzmark
      @ytzmark ปีที่แล้ว

      exactly. Check the Car and Driver tests for stock Plaid braking repeatedly from 100 mph. It brakes shorter than the light BMW M5 CS with carbon brakes. Plaid OEM are optimized, as they should be for street driving which means when cold under normal use and braking from high speeds like on the highway. BUT if you take ANY car to the track, and heat up the brakes more than you ever would on the street, of course you have to change the brake system to be better when hot. But the brakes will likely be worse on the street and when cold. So he didn’t really upgrade the brakes, he just changed them for track use. He is just stupid and wrong when he says “they stop like crap” - they don’t, check the Car and Driver brake tests.

  • @SoCalVipers

    What steering wheel will you get? I switched from the Yoke to the Hansshow napa leather wheel. I feel like I'm driving a real car again. The leather feels a million times better than the vinyl yoke. Being round makes me feel like I am in control of the car in high speed turns. The only problem I have with the Hansshow round wheel is that the buttons don't work right. The voice button doesn't work at all, and the turn signals have lost their haptic feedback.

    You might be able to water this down for regular folks like myself who might fling their model Y into a roundabout every once in a while but that’s about it. Getting better tires in the wet mostly and for comfort and noise would be great. I seldom have ever touch my Bricks And rely on region most of the time so clearly I’m not pushing it too hard.
