Great video. Thanks for the shout out, though it was entirely because of Justin that I found you. I missed so much of the tiny desk so I appreciate the recap: Richie Rich was an amazing moment. Thanks for showing it
The only thing that I’ve loved more than discovering all this fantastic hip hop analysis, is the mutual respect and support you have for each other. W to the audience too I think! We really won out
Doechiiiiiiiiii what a great year Great to go back into the awesome stuff this year, 2024 was a dub, and massive shout out to Justin for showing me your channel
Dope video! I loved your reference to "Bangin' On Wax"; it really shows the depth of your musical knowledge. Hearing your anecdote about reciting Kendrick Lamar with your children was refreshing, especially as a fellow father! Keep up the fantastic work; you have something special that will earn you recognition as long as you continue to grind. I look forward to more videos in 2025!
2024 was definitely the year for hiphop.. if they’re united, they should champion Kendrick more coz that boy got it naturally..!! No big machine nothing..
It's so dope that you shouted out that Richie Rich moment. I remember watching it and wondering if it was a part of the show because nobody seemed to be really helping that much. He's a straight G for rolling with it though. Shout out to the East Bay for all the amazing and under appreciated music they produce. Seasoned Veteran is a classic.
It was actually Hiss by Megan Thee Stallion. Yall need to recognize the female lyricists! Tiny Desk is awesome and they did JID and Tyler most recently and it was great as i am older so I can't comsume the amount of music released. However if they make to tiny desk then i know there are live artists and not studio artists... Your documentary on the lack of the next artists!
@@blaquehealer5484 hiss same scars line was dope. I forget to mention that line tbh. I forgot to mention bbl Drizzy. Rick Ross. It was so much to talk about this year I couldn’t remember it all but that’s what the comment section is for. Thank you for tuning in.
@ReedMySole I totally understand, and that's why I love your videos because you are emotionally INTELLIGENT, and your viewpoint is objective and not messy. There aren't a lot of women in this space, and women also struggle with misogyny, so I like to bring up artists who are doing their thing.

B for Better's Freestyle on Famous Animal TV, 'What's The Point' was a great moment for me. Felt like it was channeling the energy of 'Watch The Party Die' in new directions.
Favorite album of 2024 has to be Banda Stone and the New World by Childish Gambino. It’s hitting all those beats of trying to navigate adulthood and masculinity.
I don’t care and I mean, I don’t care what anybody else says. Kendrick Lamar’s like that verse is the hardest verse of the year. Honestly might be the hardest verse of the decade for what it’s worth. And what is worth is millions and millions of dollars especially after everything it led to
2024 was def a dope year. One of my highlights was finding channels like this one, both during and post the Kendrick/Drake battle. My algorithm is looking right nowadays. Other highlights: 1. Kendrick/Drake battle 2. Attending the Pop Out Concert in-person after Kendrick's victory 3. Attending Nas' Vegas show, where he performed Illmatic in its entirety with the backing of the Las Vegas Philharmonic 4. Binge-watching Tiny Desks performances. I'm late to the party. Watched everything from Usher to Doechii to Scarface to Jill Scott's incredible past performances 5. The west coast resurrection. So many great projects from the coast this year, capped off by GNX, my aoty. Newcomers (Zoe Osama, Blxst) to veterans (Ice Cube, Tha Dogg Pound) all dropped heat this year, while the "middle children" like Schoolboy, Ab-Soul, Vince Staples, Dom Kennedy, Jason Martin, Tyler, all dropped impressive bodies of work. Top 5 albums: 1. GNX 2. You Only Die Twice by Freddie Gibbs 3. The Force by LL 4. BLUE LIPS by Schoolboy 5. Please Dont Cry by Rapsody
