german pharmacist here. comod system is not for shooting the drops into your eyes.. it‘s just a system that allows you to formulate the drops without preservatives because this system doesn‘t allow air from the outside that contains bacteria into the formulation itself. You need to use the drops just like any other eye drops..

I have severe dry eye due to Sjogren’s Syndrome and although Hylo Fote is one of the best eye drops I find the delivery mechanism painful whenever my eyes are having a bad flare due to immune system issues.

No it doesn’t shoot into the eye when you press the pump. It is an incredibly frustrating design and the drops just don’t come out until you shake it

Great review. I have the same problem putting the drops in my eyes. Good to know I'm not alone :) I also agree about the labelling. I see the logic that light blue is weaker than dark blue but the contrast between the two is not strong enough to be able to easily discern between the two. As for all the technical info on the label, that says a lot about the target consumer (speaking about Australia here) whereby simple labelling implies a no frills product which is the way labelling works in our supermarkets. A bit of a psychological marketing strategy. In my mind this is an excellent product though.

Great video. I was just recommended Hylo by my optometrist today. They are far more soothing than Systane I love that you get 6 month use after opening, which is double Systane so in this basis, they are not really much more expensive as you get 3 extra months and the design of the bottle and delivery system means you're not wasting drops like I do with Systane (providing your aiming properly !!) Now all I have to do is learn how to instill them well. Thanks for video.

Are you joking about the bottle, it's impossible to use. The pump is so stiff you need two fingers to use it and it doesn't sqirt at all like you're showing, a drop dribbles out and hangs there, so the chance of getting it into your eye is even less that with a traditional bottle of eye drops

  • @fayjaz
    @fayjaz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

How come hylo forte can be used 6 months after opening but for other eye drops you have to dispose them after a month of opening? If eye drops can stay in good condition for that long, why do some eye drops contain preservatives?

    • @AntonioTheOptom

@@AntonioTheOptom I bought hylo forte after this video and I have come across a problem. I think after using this eyedrop while I have contacts in, it's reacting with something in the contacts or my eyes. I have only used it while I have contacts in (because of dry eyes) so I am not sure how it works for my eyes when not wearing contact lenses. This is the second time it happened, I am getting tiny clear bubbles on the conjunctiva. I went to my optom the first time it happened and he said it will resolve by itself and is nothing serious but they are painful and very uncomfortable. Do you know why this could be happening?

@@fayjaz 🤔 I agree with what your optometrist said, hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring compound in the body so it’s hard to imagine anyone having an allergic response to it. And also the fact that it is preservative free makes it even more confusing 😯

    • @AntonioTheOptom

Redness relief should always be approached as:
      - treat the cause first
      - treat the symptom second
I think hot compresses do a better job at relieving the cause (I have a video on this already) and eye drops do a better job at relieving the symptom

So I live in Germany and this company is from here, they produce the best eye drops I ever tested, so they have a bunch of different types for every need, there all contact lenses friendly and has no preservatives, the main concern of the company is to having a composition that's efficient and being simple as possible. Germans are always worried with the composition whether there's there's strong preservatives or something that can potentially cause some problems when it's used constantly.
I got three eye drops of them and two ointment gel, if you want I can send a picture of the composition that you can have an better overview.

الافضل تشوفين سبب الجفاف وتحلين المشكله اما من ناحية القطره كثير ناس يقولون اذا ثبتوا على قطره وحده تصير ماترطب ويضطرون يغيرون الشركه كل بعد فتره

I have a funny story - I watched a reality show where BTS happened to use these eye drops (unsponsored) and I thought, “I have dry eyes, let me try these out”. So I did. They ended up working very well 😅😊

I find Evolve eye drops cheaper, better and the bottle is easier to use.
