      I had eye floater but I healed myself and had dry eyes but I fixed it too best treatment for dry eyes is to stop thinking that you have dry eyes and don't depend on lubricant eye drops cause it's kinda addictive to eyes use omega tablets or ginkgo biloba and drink enough water it's works better than eye drops I think dry eyes is very simple problem and have so many solutions some changes in life style can fix it like avoid too much computer screen time and vr too is number one in dry eyes and eye strain problems this days go out run play swim but not in the sea cause salty water can increase dry eyes

      The first time I felt dryness in my eyes was before 9 years ago where I always has been experiencing dry eye symptoms (mostly burning) right after being exposed to the sun.. my symptoms were not so bad, and I was able to live my life without any specific treatment for them, but I felt that the symptoms are getting worse over time unfortunately, also after one year and a half I had a LASIK surgery for my eyes and since then my dry eye syndrome is getting worse and worse over time unfortunately.. I tried different modalities to treat my eyes such as IPL, Xiidra and Restasis drops, artificial eye drops, natural eye drops, eyelid wipes, omega-3 supplements and warm compresses but unfortunately non of them has alleviate my symptoms significantly 😞
      I feel depressed, hopeless and unable to live my life as before.. I have found out that the weather and the climate around me is the only thing that could help a lot to manage my symptoms, being in a humid environment, low exposure to the sun, moderate temperatures is what you need.. but unfortunately I can’t be in that environment at the moment unfortunately since I live in the middle east..
      Hopefully someone could find out more helpful treatment modalities for dry eye disease to help such complex cases as mine😔

God bless you..or I forgot to mention I am noticing floaters in my left eye and also in my right eye. I live in NYC..I was wondering if it's because of the smoke that came down from Canada that cause the flare up?. Thank you so much for the information you provide us. I suffer from extreme red eyes and red eye lids. One dr told me it was ocular rosacea and the other dry eye. I think it is dry eye because the methods you talked about in this video do seem to help. I still have to use lumify daily to take the severe redness away. Ive tried doxycicline and it helped a little bit but the side effects i didnt care for. It upset my stomach if not taken with food and made me sun burn in the winter time lol. Im going to try to be consistent doing these methods you talked about and see if it helps out more.

    I have severe dry eye. I did not have issues with dry until my late 50s. I have seen two ophthalmologist and while we’ve tried a couple of meds xiidra and restasis they brought me know relief. But that’s because I have aging eyes and my eyes are so dry that my eyelids stick to my eyeballs at night and there have been times where the tear film has been torn when I try to open my eyes. But I have found some relief! Thank goodness because my severe dry as h*ll on earth. 😮 . Daytime I use Refresh Celluvisc. It truly is a lubricant eye GEL. Other things claim to be jealous but they’re more of a thick liquid. This has great lubrication power! I also like Soothe XP for advanced dry eye therapy . Nighttime I use Muro 128. The Muro is more like a lotion than an ointment. Unfortunately I need to do maintenance throughout the night as well and then I will use the soothe XP drops. But while it really is hard to get a good nights rest, at least I have not had another episode of my stuck eyelid tearing my eye film which is so incredibly painful every single blink afterwards. I also moved away from Utah which is so incredibly dry and I now live in the Midwest. There is no cure for my dry eye (I have seen two ophthalmologist and both are cornea specialists) but I am managing it fairly well so I will take it! 💖🥰💖 👁️🤷🏻‍♀️💪🏼🌸

    I feel like this video has spoken to me the most out of all the dry eye videos of yours I've seen. My optomitrist did tell me that any tears that do get on my eyes tend to evaporate near immediately. In retrospect, I had dry eye issues specifically when I wore contact lenses. My eyes would get heavy pretty quickly after putting the contact lenses in so I wouldn't wear them often. But my eyes would feel fine with just my glasses on. However, it especially got bad maybe 6 months or so after I got LASIK. Not symtoms of severe dry eye till months after the surgery which I found odd. I did start taking a vegan Omega 3, 6, and 9 blend supplement but I'm not sure if the dosage is high enough with the Omega 3 specifically. Recently I've tried upping my dosage so we'll see how that goes. Thank you for all these videos!

      I do eat a good amount of dairy. I will try an avoid it. See what happens. Was going to look into improving my diet as a way of at least seeing if it makes a difference. Started taking Omega 3 just over a month ago. That has helped. Also started to work in some vitamin supplements (MacuPro advanced & a vitamin B complex). Hoping that’ll help things. I find it’s all about a balance. That’s the tough part haha.

    I had dry eyes at a very young age (15 years old) and it begin last year due to prolonged used of my cellphone, well maybe it's my fault tho because i'd been just staring at my screen all day long for around 2 years since pandemic, i dont even go outside because i'm an anti-social person, i'm an introvert and a shy type person to the point i get shy to talk with other people outside. So instead of that, i just stay up all day here, staring at my mobile screen just to have fun by myself by doing random things on my phone... and right now i regretted all i did to myself for not taking care of my health and eyes and i know that it won't fixed my eyes again as it used to be like normal in the past.... I'm just scared that i will deal with my dry eyes for the rest of my life.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks for asking! I have heard of the Max Dailies but I still have not had a chance to try them yet (sadly). There is one other contact lens I am aware of that also has some reduction in high energy low wavelength light, and thats the Total 30 lens. Research on blue light is still a bit...needed. Based on what I have read, blue light blocking may be beneficial for sleep cycles if up late at night, and if someone is higher risk for retinal disease, maybe it would help too (but this is still debated in the literature). The one benefit from the Oasys Max that I think could help is the fact it is a daily lens. And they usually are more comfortable and they are less likely to carry deposits from one day to the next.

    Regularly check out your videos - always informative, learning a lot. Thank you. I had cataract surgery 2 years ago at age 71. Since then have suffered with constant dry eyes - always very irritated; teary, itchy, blurry vision with blepharitis. Very good news now - 2 weeks ago started using SYSTANE COMPLETE, PF drops, 2x daily and ... NO more dry eyes! Most recently purchased Blepharitis Eye Wash pads with Tea Tree oil as a preventive step along with a plug-in eye mask but it's the SYSTANE COMPLETE PF drops that really made the difference! BTW - have taken Omega 3 supplements for years. Happy not to have spent $1500. yearly for chronic MGD/LipiFlow treatments. Thank you again.

But recently I did a video about my omega 3 experience and I first tested my omega 3 levels based on my diet alone, for which I have sprinkled freshly ground flax seed and chia seeds on my oatmeal every day for years. And sadly my omega levels were still fairly low. I fear the conversion of omegas from flax is indeed low, (only a few studies to site on this) but yeah...i fear we may not get enough from veggies and nut sources.

    I wouldn't wear sunglasses outside all the time because you are blocking all the visible light spectrum from the sun, namely the blue that is setting your circadian rhythms via the SCN in the brain. This will disrupt sleep and other circadian rhythm dependent hormones like cortisol and melatonin. Disrupted sleep and low sleep quality impacts everything to do with health including the eyes. In REM sleep your eyes are moving around so if your REM sleep is disrupted, your eyes won't be moving as much and will contribute to reduced eye function and likely dry eyes.
    Of course there are many many factors that influence circadian rhythm and sleep quality, however it is impossible to have amazing sleep quality with a mis-aligned circadian rhythm. And visible light is the master 'cue' that influences the 24h cycle of things in our cells/ CR is more about WHEN you do things. Eating, your body temperature, activity level, socialising and even sound matter as to when you do. or experience them. But none of those matter if you aren't getting natural visible light from the sun and minimizing blue light from tech, especially in the evening.
    I would allow half an hour without sunglasses but really as much time as possible unless you need to wear for safety reasons such as driving. When you are wearing sunglasses, try to look up at the sky over the top rim, if you are able and safe to do so.

      Hey thanks, Kristen. If the meibomian glands are completely wiped out, that is difficult to manage (currently). I usually find a mix of treatments - including use of lipid based artificial tears help the most. However, a new eye drop called Meibo, was just FDA approved. It should hopefully hit the market here in the US by the end of the summer. It works to prevent tear film evaporation. So be sure to ask your doctor about that and if you are a good candidate and if can get some as soon as it becomes available.

      As of this time, the answer is sadly no. I have also lost a significant amount of meibomian glands and am fairly young (21 years old) so I very much feel your pain. While glands that are damaged from clogging and/or inflammation can be restored, ones that are already dead will remain gone for good. All that can be done right now are maintenance procedures so more glands are not lost. But significant progress is being made in regenerative researches like utilizing stem cells and the process of de-aging. Thanks for pointing that out. Mostly because I love my contact lenses :-) Wearing glasses makes me feel sleepy (and I have a strong rx). But yes, perhaps I should try not wearing contacts for a few months.

    I've had dry eye for 18 months now due to an HiV diagnosis. It's been horrific. I have had eye lid surgery, autologous serum and like 10 IPLs. I have gotten better but I still have a burning sensation every day and my eyes feel gritty. I can hardly work on the computer and my work productivity has gone down to 30 out of 100. I started taking PRN Omega 3 around 6 weeks ago and I am hoping it will also do miracles like with you! I last week started adding cod liver oil as well so now I am close to 4g a day of fish oil. I am hoping this will help!

    My eyes have been dry for 30 years from Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency and Malabsorption Syndrome. These were a result of having Mono. I use moisture chambers and wrap around sunglasses. Celluvisc and Soothe are used daily. I take many supplements and over the counter meds for all three problems. Prescription meds are used for my digestive diseases. Luckily, my eyes have no pain and aren't red.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IPL is currently not covered by insurance but I have heard wind that some companies are considering it. Cost varies based on location and what they are offering, usually somewhere between 1000-2000 USD, but it depends on the package they bundle it with, some clinics also do lipiflow or some other form of thermalpulsation along with it as some research has supported that it may get better/faster results using them combined.

    Hey Doc,
    Loved this informative youtube video! Thanks for sharing. As a Zoom hypnotist I have helped many people with physical problems to overcome them using the power of Hypnosis. Although I have not worked specifically with dry eye, we have had a lot of success with allergies. As you know 90% of our bodely functions run on auto pilot via our subconscious. Hypothesis can reset this with amazing results.
    If you are keen to address your dry eye, I believe I can help!
    Kind regards,
    Jon

    I have white stingy eye discharge that forms in my eye everyday and all day. My eyes just feel like they’re burning all the time and very dry and I have no relief in them. I had this eye problem for many years and the pataway extra strengthening helps but only for a short time. I need drops like that but In bigger bottles that actually work for a longer time. The alaway and the lazacraft eye drop don't work I tried them they just made my eyes pinker.

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  ปีที่แล้ว

      With any discharge like that, it will be important to consult a local eye care physician. Some people do tend to pick at the discharge and this just aggravates the eye to make more mucous. But if this has been going on for awhile, you may require prescription medications, antihistamine eye drops can help and play a role, but there may be more going on than just allergies and dry eye.

    How is dry eyes different from pink eye? I think I've been having consistent pink eye and mistakenly thought it was dry eyes

    • @DoctorEyeHealth
      @DoctorEyeHealth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well "pink eye" is just an easy term to describe conjunctivitis, which is inflammation of the conjunctiva - the clear membrane coating the outside of the eye. A conjunctivitis could be cause by infection from bacteria or a virus, or could be from allergies or even a toxic exposure - from chemicals for example.
      Dry eye is more due to tear film instability or insufficiency.
      Have you had it diagnosed by a local doctor yet? that would be the most important step.
