I once sat almost above Richie Hayward in Clapton's band at the Albert Hall, I was completely fcking mesmerised by his playing, timing, energy and love for the music.

Geez, girl, you're lucky you have in-ear monitors today. Back in my touring days, I usually had a monitor behind me the size of a freaking refrigerator! I actually had to wear Sonic 2 hearing filters to block out the damaging sound pressure levels that were gonna make me deaf, otherwise! But it sure made my Yamaha drums sound sweet!

And Of Course, Your Anazing Talent and Skill is Always a Treat, to watch! I know you’re Young, but you sound like someone who’s been playing for decades! It Just doesn’t make sense, How you can be This Good after only a Short time playing drums. I guess I have to Assume you started very early.

The reason I ask is your time feel is INCREDIBLE! It's right up there with Jeff Porcaro's and Virgil Donati's time feels. How do you keep it so perfectly solid while keeping the energy levels high? Excellent work!
Hi David! Because of the nature of this show (lights, video needs, etc), we are on click the entire show. The hardest thing for me is to find a balance between feel and perfectionism with a click. To answer your question, a lot of practice! We rehearse for weeks and weeks for 12 hours a day before we hit the stage. By the time our first show comes around, it becomes muscle memory and you can begin thinking big picture. Thank you for your kind words!!
@@junesondrab3833 it's a sound in the inear headphones/buds that produces the beat with a click depending on the beats per minute. The sound mixer will mix the sound and the loudness to each performers preferences of various sounds and direction tracks into their earbuds.

@@metal-potato Sorry for necroing the thread. Shuffle is a rhythm. It's built on triplets. Quite often used in for example groovy blues.
