I am gutted by all the negative comments regarding her voice. She had Lymes disease which attacked her vocal cords and had to have surgery. At least she sang live and knew her capabilities and sang the chorus a couple of octaves lower in order to perform otherwise you’d all be bitching she was miming, I’d rather she sung live in a key that is comfortable to her. I don’t see one unhappy customer in the audience?? They’re rocking along with her . Just look at her? 58! And still rocking! I’ve been a fan of hers for almost 30 years and my loyalty has never waivered. You go girl! LONG LIVE SHANIA!!! ❤️
This is a festival, but I bet she charges a lot of money to her solo shows with this broken voice of hers. Her fans are getting ripped off in the process. She’s not the only one who does this, but what happened to retiring with dignity?

Just appreciate the fact that she made the choice and efforts to be back on stage singing live for us fans after all that she’s been through. That’s dedication. She could have simply chosen to retire and leave us with the memories and recordings. But she chose the stage and us. If you still have anything to complain about it’s really your problem.

I've seen lot of stuff about Shania's voice and how "it isn't same", and you'd be right, it's not the same. But, you wouldn't sound the same either if you're almost 60, had Lyme's disease, and several throat and vocal cord surgeries to restore your singing voice. You cannot go to a Shania Twain concert in 2024 and expect to see and hear the Shania Twain that was around in 2003. If that's your expectation, then stay home and watch the Come on Over or Up! Live concert DVD's. I think for everything Shania has been through, the fact she can even sing at all is nothing short of incredible.
But she's still charging massive prices for people to see her and she's not delivering a show of the standard it should be. You act like this happened to her hours before the show?

It sounded like she had a control issue at :48 when she sings "Yeah, I'm gonna..." I recognise the sound of not being able to access or open up your head voice because it happens to me all the time. Once she realised her register wasn't opening, she immediately adapted and went for the harmony. Her fast thinking was practically seamless, and created this fun and brilliant "duet" with the audience. I absolutely love how it all worked out, and she sounded great!
All thanks to Mutt Lange and his industry connections, as well as Shania's good looks and lovely voice. That fact that she had no success prior to him, and none after is evidence of that. She hasn't evolved in her own right, and still trades on the Lange produced hits. Her voice is shot now, and her looks have faded.

I was lucky enough to see her prime after the up album. She was note perfect and could feel an entire arena with energy. Definitely one of the legendary performers. At her age now, she is no slouch. Please don’t judge her voice now against her prime, especially after having Lymes disease

Of course! This song is almost 30 years old, even without having lymes disease she would sound different, being almost 30 years older. I admire her grit and determination to over come all that life has thrown at her and to get back up and get out there is admirable to say the least! She’s one of, if not my biggest, inspirations!

The truth is, Shania has lost her voice and cannot sing full strength and is being "carried" on stage by her back-up singers. I seen Shania live last month in Las Vegas (in the Golden Circle) and again in Dublin 2 days ago. This is not one of her best performances, but it’s obvious there was sound problems at Glasto. Notice how at the start of That Don’t Impress Me Much she was having earpiece and mic pack issues. Plus she had Lyme Disease. I’m the same age as Taylor Swift, and in 25 years she’ll be lucky if she sounds as good as this. Age comes to us all
As a person who also has nerve damage in my vocal cords and had to have surgery, I understand everything she’s ever said about it and why she’s doing what she’s doing on stage. For me this was was caused by neurological conditions that I had my whole life and still do. It is not easy for us to keep our voice functioning and we have to do a lot to maintain it to just be able to speak, never mind when we try to sing. Sometimes our will basically tell us where to go and try to not let us speak and it’s even harder than it usually is to do just that. When you have to sing on a regular basis, sometimes you have to make certain adjustments as to not wear out your vocal cords more than someone who doesn’t have nerve damage. A symptom of having nerve damage in your vocal cords is Vocal fatigue and that’s just one of many symptoms but we work our asses off. Best believe she is doing everything for her love of singing and especially for the people that love to see her. When she changes keys of songs, it is not necessarily because she can’t hit certain notes any longer. It is a strength thing. There’s a difference in your range and having enough strength to be able to push to get there. Her or myself could try to sing you the same song every single day and it will not sound the same. Even hour apart sometimes or a few minutes apart, it could sound perfect and then you wonder what the hell happened because with our condition it does what it wants. That’s why we do various exercises for long periods of time more extensively than people without Vocal problems and for longer period of time then those people. That’s just SOME of the explanation.. My love of singing keeps me going and Shania also keeps my ass going. Anybody that wants to talk some shit about her when they don’t know anything about the medical condition can come talk to me.

I am almost 56. Been a fan since the 90s. I was so looking forward to listening to her performance at Glastonbury......but I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed too. But......I still love her all the same. I am a die-hard fan and always will be. She has worked so hard to overcome her illnesses.....and retain that beautiful voice. So what if its a little deeper and croakier. She's doing her best to entertain her fans. And true fans will stand by her.....supporting her throughout. We gotta remember.....these songs that we all love her for are mostly around 30 years old. She's 58 for god sake. We can't expect her to still perform like that now.....all these years on. But look at her. 58 and still as beautiful as ever. I am in awe of this woman. Her lyrics in Black Eyes inspired me to fight back when I was in a very violent marriage. I am forever in her debt. I have seen her do a lot of live appearances lately.. and this is not like any of those ones.. and you can see the fatigue on her face and in her eyes.. but she is always the consummate professional and such a bloody trooper that she is carrying on with the show!!!! It sounded like she had a control issue at :48 when she sings "Yeah, I'm gonna..." I recognise the sound of not being able to access or open up your head voice because it happens to me all the time. Once she realised her register wasn't opening, she immediately adapted and went for the harmony. Her fast thinking was practically seamless, and created this fun and brilliant "duet" with the audience. I absolutely love how it all worked out, and she sounded great!

I was lucky enough to see her prime after the up album. She was note perfect and could feel an entire arena with energy. Definitely one of the legendary performers. At her age now, she is no slouch. Please don’t judge her voice now against her prime, especially after having Lymes disease

I’m a life long Shania fan! Being a fan I know a little bit about her life and the obstacles she overcame like having lymes disease which ravished the nerves and muscles around her vocal cords… does she sound different?! Of course! This song is almost 30 years old, even without having lymes disease she would sound different, being almost 30 years older. This song is iconic and the woman performing it is an absolute legend! I admire her grit and determination to over come all that life has thrown at her and to get back up and get out there is admirable to say the least! She’s one of, if not my biggest, inspirations!

I seen Shania live last month in Las Vegas (in the Golden Circle) and again in Dublin 2 days ago. This is not one of her best performances, but it’s obvious there was sound problems at Glasto. Notice how at the start of That Don’t Impress Me Much she was having earpiece and mic pack issues. Plus she had Lyme Disease. I’m the same age as Taylor Swift, and in 25 years she’ll be lucky if she sounds as good as this. Age comes to us all
As a person who also has nerve damage in my vocal cords and had to have surgery, I understand everything she’s ever said about it and why she’s doing what she’s doing on stage. For me this was was caused by neurological conditions that I had my whole life and still do. It is not easy for us to keep our voice functioning and we have to do a lot to maintain it to just be able to speak, never mind when we try to sing. Sometimes our will basically tell us where to go and try to not let us speak and it’s even harder than it usually is to do just that. When you have to sing on a regular basis, sometimes you have to make certain adjustments as to not wear out your vocal cords more than someone who doesn’t have nerve damage. A symptom of having nerve damage in your vocal cords is Vocal fatigue and that’s just one of many symptoms but we work our asses off. Best believe she is doing everything for her love of singing and especially for the people that love to see her. When she changes keys of songs, it is not necessarily because she can’t hit certain notes any longer. It is a strength thing. There’s a difference in your range and having enough strength to be able to push to get there. Her or myself could try to sing you the same song every single day and it will not sound the same. Even hour apart sometimes or a few minutes apart, it could sound perfect and then you wonder what the hell happened because with our condition it does what it wants. That’s why we do various exercises for long periods of time more extensively than people without Vocal problems and for longer period of time then those people. That’s just SOME of the explanation..
My love of singing keeps me going and Shania also keeps my ass going. Anybody that wants to talk some shit about her when they don’t know anything about the medical condition can come talk to me.
No matter how she sounds. I love her anyways. I admire her for reinventing her voice. As a little girl I heard her songs. Because my parents had her CD ! Love from a Dutchie ❤

I am almost 56. Been a fan since the 90s. I was so looking forward to listening to her performance at Glastonbury......but I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed too.
But......I still love her all the same. I am a die-hard fan and always will be. She has worked so hard to overcome her illnesses.....and retain that beautiful voice. So what if its a little deeper and croakier. She's doing her best to entertain her fans. And true fans will stand by her.....supporting her throughout. We gotta remember.....these songs that we all love her for are mostly around 30 years old. She's 58 for god sake. We can't expect her to still perform like that now.....all these years on. But look at her. 58 and still as beautiful as ever. I am in awe of this woman. Her lyrics in Black Eyes inspired me to fight back when I was in a very violent marriage. I am forever in her debt. I listen to her music every day even at work. Even attempt karaoke😂.
