The biggest mistake I've seen from sellers is time management. Many are attracted to Ebay because they want to be their own boss, and envisage being able to take the odd day off here and there, get lunch when they want etc. As you guys have shown if you want to scale this to full time the numbers are significant and the original reason for getting into eBay may be lost for most. There are significant perks to having it as a side hustle as opposed to full time even if you are successful. Likely your employer will pay you holiday and Super for instance which over a longer period of time really add up. Most importantly your relationship with eBay will change as you scale and this may impact your overall enjoyment of the whole thing.
Very true mate all very valid points. It definitely is a different beast once you decide to make it a full time income and you need to treat it as such if that’s the way you decide to go.
The biggest mistake is the deliver the product to cu😅stomers which is not exactly the same on the photo they post.I received 3 times that's why I uninstall ebay.Not reliable anymore.
I definitely think the managing stock would be a big one for a lot of resellers. It is so easy in the early days to keep buying stock, and then all of a sudden you have a mess. Even a simple SKU system from day one can save you so much time!
Oh absolutely it’s the easiest way to get in to trouble real quick, those death piles aren’t called death piles for no reason haha
So much TRUTH & sound advice in this video. I started this gig same time as you mob, although mine is a hobby I still want it to be the best it can be. I've saturated my brain with untold youtubes to start with it was 99.9% USA content (thank goodness Aussie content like Codey Orgill & yourselves started filtering through) as you stated geographically unlikely you are going to find the same sort of stuff or sell for the same $$. Thankfully I adopted a sensible SKU model early in the piece that suits my business model & space, but there is always room for tweaking. I'm so grateful for ALL your content it has been such an huge help in plotting my course. Helpful to see the photo set up area & process also. A lot to be learned from this video & Ethan's chat the other night was one of the best for the serious stuff. Oh and great legs by the way, must be why Jaz hangs out with you?

I think having a good sku system is one of the biggest challenges for most resellers and is so crucial.

Oh god, yes building relationships that is the number one hint, and I am not good at that. I’m a bit of an introvert so I’m gonna have to put myself out there but thank you Brad for saying it I just need to apply it. I know it I know it I know it it’s just starting a conversation isn’t it. I think I’d add enjoy the small wins. I have to sku my stock which I wasn’t looking forward to, but I realised I hit a level that required me to sku my stock! Let’s go!! 😂
Very good point hit to enjoy the wins. Haha those sku’s are so much harder to organise as you get bigger so I’d definitely jump on as quick as you can.

ebay fees are 13%, unless your item is rare/sort after or cheap you have no chance. this whole 2nd hand market is a lesser beast than 10 years ago - now days its just a medium to resell "small items" to a large audience
It’s definitely not for everyone and yes it can be a hard slog, but we love it
I think only 80% of my stock in in the sku. But 99% of the time I remember exactly where stuff is. Would love to get some spare time to do the rest but youtube keeps recommending videos 😅
