I carry the Ruko Neck & Boot knife. I bought this knife probably over 10 years ago and I thought it was one of the worst purchases ever because I could never find a use for it. I lost the clip, the chain broke so it was just a knife and a sheath. But I made an adjustable Paracord necklace for it and it's actually very comfortable. I even wear it when I sleep. You guys brought up a very good point, I rarely use it because my muscle memory doesn't go to "neck" when I think "knife." But the SECURITY, knowing you have a blade on you (or another blade) is such a big relief.
I love neck carry. First: fixed blade. Second, having a gut makes neck carry easier. I took the kernals out of 550 paracord, threaded in ball chain and with the magnetic leather sheath I was in LOVE. So much better for me! Ball chain can snap so I have less worry of being strangled. I'd not hesitate to remove it around farm equipment or machinery like lathes. I didn't go light-weight or short over all length with my neck knife. I carry Bark River Adventurer II. It's the top EDC for me.
I love the two I own. I'm a Police Officer so I like having defensive weapons i can get to with my off hand while retaining my firearm with my strong hand should someone attempt to keep me from going home or living in general. The neck knives I use are the Essee-Kbar becker-necker and the Black Jack neck knife.
@@outcast4389 ABSOLUTELY...If some turd was fighting me for my firearm and i was busy locking it down to retain it having an option with my off hand like a knife or another firearm would work well to save my life. As to training I have training while in the military often and training in knife for Patrol. So, yeah....
I love my minimalist cleaver! It's one of my go to knives. I usually carry it cross draw on the belt and it's nice and out of the way. The finger choils make it feel very secure in the hand and works very well for shaving too lol pinch the front groove with the thumb and pointer finger and you have quite a lot of control.
I just bought the CRKT Minimalist drop point. I intended to horizontal carry it for easy access while fishing. I wore it around my neck for the last two days. I may just keep it that way. The first day I completely forgot it was there. It is so comfortable and concealed under the shirt that I realized it was there when I removed my shirt. When the weather breaks I’ll add the clip and head to the water and see how it goes. But for now, it really is a great and light weight edc neck knife.
I love the Tops MSK 2.5. That is a great little knife. Very good for cutting meat/food. Gutting fish and as a hunting knife for smaller game. And a great companion knife for small woodwork when you carry a big knife. When you carry a big knife you often wish it was smaller when you do whittling that are moore delicate. It makes the package complete in my book. Here in the north(Norway) it was often used in the old days,in the wintertime. Heavy clothes in winter makes it moore easy to use a neck knife then a beltknife.Heavy jacket over your hips etc. just my points on the neck knife uses.
I just found your channel and I love you guys...great humor! I love my neck knives and although they are not my primary cutting tools they do have multi uses. The fact that I have a neck knife readily available is (psychologically) comforting in the woods. Quick deployment. Visible. Strangely, other hikers step to one side of the trail when they see me coming; it could be the military tactical look with the neck knife :) My favorite neck knife is a Mora Companion conversion with a 4" ferro rod (or a Bic) attached with industrial Velcro. Total weight is 4.8oz including a 40" 550 hanger. I sawed off the sheath belt loop and smoothed the edges with sandpaper. In my backpacking trips around the world I never lost a neck knife. I've lost four pocket folders either by confiscation or just misplacement. The confiscation was at an airport when I forgot to put it in my checked luggage...my most favorite Spyderco, too. Yeah, it sucks to run with a neck knife but a sliver of duct tape will resolve the problem...that is if you don't have chest hair:)
I used to be a trashman and I carried a Blackhawk Xsf punch dagger for about a year then switched over to CRKT Dragon which is a lil over 9 inches and I always found it comfortable. I switched over after losing a bunch of pocket knives.I always felt safer with the dragon around my neck hangin off the back of a truck out on the dark dusty back roads at 3 am
I think blade hq should have a knife making challenge. Take two members and put them against each other. They have one week to make a knife, then they have their knives voted on by us the viewers to see who wins. Voting will be based off of size and usefulness.
Or... You could get four people and have them make a knife from scratch. Then submit them to a panel of judges. Man! I bet a show like that would take off.
Around a year ago I got one of those cheapo Lightning OTF's just to play with. Liked it so much I just bought a Microtech UTX-85. Black handled single edge with bronzed hardware and a bronzed blade. Far and away the most expensive knife I've owned but man is it gorgeous.

Wow!!! I can't believe I won!! Thanks a million and Happy New Year to you all. Please let me know how to contact you for shipping. If I were to purchase an OTF knife, I would purchase a Benchmade 4600 Phaeton. Benchmade products always seem to be reliable, and a "cut" above the rest.
My EDC is the minimalist cleaver I carry as a neck knife a lot of use and recently been having issues with it falling out randomly other than that no complaints it's served me well
I'm really into super minimal for neck knives. I've got one of those little TDI knives, but my favorite is the Buck Hartsook. It's just a little sliver of S30V but it does everything I need a neck knife to do.
I got a dirt cheap MTech neck knife when I was in highschool. I was a cook at a fast food joint and I loved wearing that thing. I could pull it out and use it real quick for opening bags/boxes and stuff. For me it was just as quick as a pocket knife and it was practical at the time. I like the security of a fixed blade as well. I don't know if these days I would use it enough for it to be worth it. I carry a Leatherman Wingman daily anyway. Nice video, I haven't watched the channel in well over a year but it's nice to be back.
I carry a Microtech halo 5 and halo 6 some days, they have a nice little kydex belt holsters. I NEVER leave home without taking one of them. The halo 6 is a polished hell hound tanto, halo 5 is a standard tanto elmax. LOVE THEM!!
I would be too paranoid the seats would fall off and shave my belly hair/if the chain or leather is too long cutting other things... BUT I wouldn't mind wearing it with proper clothing.
I bought the Smith and Wesson HRT boot knife, which came with a free neck knife. I actually carry the neck knife more often. I use it all the time- mainly because it has a bottle opener on it.
Thanks for the free entertainment! I appreciate the hard work. P.s.- regarding your jog....always carry. You never know. Bad things happen everywhere regardless of the neighborhood type. Look forward to more vids!!!
If you weave the lace through the bottom two holes, and up through the top two holes, it significantly dampens the bouncing or loosenes you experience. Insert one end through one of the holes on the bottom and then through the other hole on the bottom, so that both ends are exiting the same side, then weave them through the top two holes. The side which has less lace goes against your chest or belly or wherever you carry it.
I carry a 4" straight blade Gerber as a back up CCW. In case SHTF. It's secured with a sturdy P cord lanyard over my right shoulder and under my left arm accessible to my off hand. Very easy to retrieve (< 2 seconds), not in the way, and concealed. Thanks for options.
Worn a neck knife for over 15 years. Type of work I do (construction and renovation) I would use it at least twice a day on the job. Also use another 1 or 2 days on everyday tasks (opening boxes, flipping lid on my beer bottle, etc). I lost so many pocket knives I decided to change to a neck knife - never looked back! For me brand not important as long as it is discrete, robust and holds a good edge. I have the same one for at least 5 years now and still going strong, despite a lot of abuse and sometimes using it as an incorrect tool - it's just always handy!
SOG Snarl as a utility neck-knife for leatherwork; straight blade is easily-made a razor. Cr9Mo18V stays sharp and yet to rust an iota after 26 mos daily use. Heavy use! (I don’t just play with knives), and this steel WORKS better than your estimation of it. Mod the sheath for easier removal (forget the clip) and hot-glue a rare earth magnet on the top end. Would prefer Silent Soldier 2 design (for guard) if I didn’t need two. Brous Blades! I don’t carry ‘tactical’, however, on a smaller hand, grip holes might make it look like a knuckle weapon- it won’t go near ring position on my hams; (stay legal). I often carry HD Fiskar shears that separate.
I have been EDCing the CRKT /Folts minimalist ( bowie blade) for well over a year, and I use it almost every day. I know neckers are not for everyone, but it does a lot of the small tasks that I really don't need to pull my big flipper out for.
I have a CRKT minimalist in a Bowie blade shape👍..BUT MY NEW FAVORITE IS ...the ..CONDOR "KICKBACK '..carbon steel coated...thin & light..$23 !!!! The carbon steel holds a decent edge but is easy to sharpen.. it has sort of a grip with a finger chole so your fingers can't slip on the blade...
I have the minimalist clip point... LOVE it! I have carried & USED neck knives extensively. I have used all sorts. I got good with one handed return to case too... I could the tip in the catch the sheath & hook my thumb on the sheath. I have used them them in lots of different situations...& jobs... once you get used to it...it is really handy
Benchmade adamas push knife is awesome. Have to put a 550 cord wrap on it for comfort though. Adds a bit of personal style as well. Gave mine to my 18yo daughter. Comes with a belt clip attached but easy to remove.
Best reason for wearing a neck knife is. Just in case, the lower half of your body and fixed blade gets consumed by a shark. You still have a way to defend the upper half of your body! And possibly retrieve what was taken ! )
Another reason to wear a neck knife is that if you have bee's attacking the bottom half of your body, you can grab a knife from your neck area and fend them off
I purchased a small clear kydex neck knife sheath for my UTX 70 from you guys and finally have a knife I don't mind hanging around my grape. I agree that weight is the primary determining factor when it comes to neck knives, so I made a simple paracord neck lanyard and find this to be the perfect combo for me. Zac & Ben....try this set up for one full week and do an update video. I believe that one of you will change your minds. I wear mine outside of my shirt because of the knifes size, most people think its a flashlight; this really amuses me of course.
I've carried the ESEE Izula as a necker since they first came out. It may be a little on the large side, but I don't even notice it anymore. I did so from the defensive mindset initially, but all my use of it has been utility. It's been a great little blade.
I'm a natural klutz and I've always figured I would trip over a damn rock, branch, hole or whatever and next thing I know I have my brand new " necker" stickin outta my jugular.
I carry a kevlar neck knife (push dagger) in soft leather, sewn sheath. I can wear it thru metal detectors the sewn sheath eliminates rivets and the other metal and provides greater concealability
I carried the Urban Pal for quite a while and really enjoyed it for the most part. I think the shape is ideal for comfort and concealability, since the knife and sheath fit neatly under the chest/pecs, and the handle does not protrude down very far. The only issues I had with it were that the rubber could grab onto clothing easily, and the T shape of the handle could get snagged and possibly get yanked out of the sheath. It is handy for small admin tasks and CS has an old video demonstrating its use. Good knife over all, but I enjoyed seeing the different options you brought to the table.
Cobra tech otf knife. Like it because they have a small version, it feels good in the hand, the mechanism is smooth and it’s a really good knife for under $100
A great alternative for neck carry is if you hsve a button up shirt, get a kydex wuth ulticlip and mount it through gaps between buttons. Very convenient and nothing on your neck, plus might not bug you as it doesn't travel as far when bouncing.
feels better stuck between two shirts and all though i like bead chain paracord will be more comfortable ps: summer makes it a little more difficult to conceal it cause you usually wear a tee-shirt and nothing else in winter it is much more practical especially underneath a sweater I love cold steel knives keep posting more videos
I’ve carried a KBAR neck knife (mini fighting knife shape, stainless steel with skeletonized handle but don’t know the name) for 2 years and like the knife. It weighs about 6 ounces, 3 by 3/4” blade. It’s been good for camp cutting chores and I hardly feel it when hiking. The only thing I’ve noticed is the black coating is wearing after nearly everyday use but it only cost $10.
I just bought a CRKT Van Hoy "snap lock" from Blade HQ. I bought it because it was so weird and thought it a good addition to my collection. It actually came with a neck lanyard, which I thought strange as the knife honestly doesn't open easily, let alone in a "last ditch" scenario. All that said... I wear my Van Hoy on my neck...EDC!! It makes a great box cutter, and have ended up buying two more as gifts...my friends are sooo intrigued with this knife, they wanted one. So I bought gifts..LOL. Don't ever underestimate the idea of what people will wear around their necks, for knives. You never really know. (Literally.... ) Happy Holidays from Port Angeles, WA. Andy Maupin 😀
My new favorite channel! I carry a beautiful Murray Carter necker everyday along with an Emerson Super Karambit as my edc. Karambit is strictly for self defense and cool factor since I can’t seem to sharpen Emerson blades lol. I’ve been carrying a neck knife everyday (or most days at least) for at least 6 years or so. I’ve used and like my crkt minimalist, Emerson LaGriffe, and Alpha Knives Baghdad Boxcutter (nice Damon Lusky custom, but way to heavy for a neck knife, but I carried it that way for a solid year until I got the Carter).
I've carried a locally-made neck knife for years now. I carry it in a sheath with a AAA-cell Pelican light so I always have a knife and a flashlight with me. Not terribly comfortable to sleep with, but I haven't spent much time trying to find the most comfortable way to carry it. I recently impulse-bought a 5,11 fixed blade knife to combine with a really small O-light flashligh. We'll see how they work out,
I own 3 neck knives. 1 cold steel Secret Edge, and 2 Tanto spikes. Out of all the ones I have owned these are the mose razor sharp, and keep there edge. The spike is also a good self defense knife. The Secret Edge is shorter, but still very versatile. I use a Lansky pocket sharpener, and a few swipes, and it's razo sharp. You should review pocket sharpeners. If you knife gets dull your SOL unless it's a stabbing move. You have the Smith, Lansky, and a handful of others that seem to borrow from those two.
I agree on the Skyline fixed blade. It's a little thick, if it was the folder thick it might be better. I've lost a couple CS Mini Pals so I don't key ring carry it anymore. A couple I like are the Blackjack 155 and the Broas Silent Soldier. Make sure you take them off when tanning.
Favorites (in my collection); Camping - Tops Tibo (154CM limited run) w/micarta scales. Great design in one of my favorite steels. Defense - Schrade SCH111 (9C18MoV). Great design and pretty good for alphabet steel - their 440C

Tom Brooks you can tell this isn't the case. if this guy has tats it's upper arm all day long
Tom Brooks I'm only trolling, I have no clue what zachs body looks like lol. I'm just teasing saying Zach isn't cool enough for neck/forearm tats
I love the guy on the left AND feel like we could be best friends! I ALSO love the little edits, they make the videos unique and humorous.
R Sjr so you'd fight someone on duty with a knife ?
mick bott I hope he would. I’d rather see some idiot trying to fight a cop get stabbed by the cop then the other way around so. Yeah.
Dion St. Michael looks like somebody failed the police entry test. Get good loser.
Dion St. Michael fuck off go give your grandchildren some attention
"Van Gogh carry"
I lost it 🤣
I just bought the CRKT Minimalist drop point. But for now, it really is a great and light weight edc neck knife.
could you do a knife banter on scout carry?
Same in here, Top Gear for knifes
Man! I bet a show like that would take off.
joe gercken have fans make and send in knives. Blade hq judges them, and the winner gets a knife. Your idea of better though.
i would actually be very interested in seeing this happen. even if they made them out of wood to keep it easier/cheaper
Around a year ago I got one of those cheapo Lightning OTF's just to play with. Liked it so much I just bought a Microtech UTX-85. Black handled single edge with bronzed hardware and a bronzed blade. Far and away the most expensive knife I've owned but man is it gorgeous.
The guy with the 40 lb pack wants a neck knife that's 1/2 oz lighter.
Kemp English oz stack up fast when you are backpacking
You were clearly never in the military. Ounces = Pounds!!
An ounce in the morning turns into a pound in the afternoon

@@nativedave I was in the military (Infantry) for 30 years and do agree that 1/2 oz. reduction in total weight means noting when you are humping a 40 pound ruck, two full one quart canteens, rifle, 200+ rounds of ammo, and two grenades,
Recent Viewer. I love the energy on The Man of the Left (Ben?) has. LUL. Yall both seem like goofs, so thats what keeps me coming back to view more Knife Banter. Thanks for the shows.
Congrats man
My EDC is the minimalist cleaver I carry as a neck knife a lot of use and recently been having issues with it falling out randomly other than that no complaints it's served me well
I'm really into super minimal for neck knives.
Been waiting my whole life for this video
Matt Lowe 🤠🔪🤠🔪🤠
I carry a Microtech halo 5 and halo 6 some days, they have a nice little kydex belt holsters. I NEVER leave home without taking one of them. The halo 6 is a polished hell hound tanto, halo 5 is a standard tanto elmax. LOVE THEM!!
The funny thing is, I only ever use a neck knife when I'm naked.
Uhm
Me too I wear my Stainless steel Esee Izula when I'm Naked and Afraid.
Naked and definetly armed
I would be too paranoid the seats would fall off and shave my belly hair/if the chain or leather is too long cutting other things... BUT I wouldn't mind wearing it with proper clothing.
Sounds like a segway to a cheap circumcision
I bought the Smith and Wesson HRT boot knife, which came with a free neck knife. I actually carry the neck knife more often. I use it all the time- mainly because it has a bottle opener on it.
Thanks for the free entertainment! I appreciate the hard work. P.s.- regarding your jog....always carry. You never know. Bad things happen everywhere regardless of the neighborhood type. Look forward to more vids!!!
Tbh I carry big knives everywhere, but in a fight I would use my fists.
The side which has less lace goes against your chest or belly or wherever you carry it.
and here i thought they were for neck knifing
What are you doing here?!
@@skippygirl959 i have made some knives etc
You guys are the best over the top duo I've ever seen. Please Don't stop
What are y'all guys doin'?
Urban bushcraft or lumbersexual
😶😉😂😎
Ironically the Sypderco was actually made for soldiers who were getting assaulted in the shower overseas
@Weyland Yutani Yes. If you get assaulted in the shower underseas you're shit out of luck.
I have been EDCing the CRKT /Folts minimalist ( bowie blade) for well over a year, and I use it almost every day. I know neckers are not for everyone, but it does a lot of the small tasks that I really don't need to pull my big flipper out for.
If running with a neck knife is bad, man the poor girls. Lol
One True Friend.....
Will K hentai
wtf, naw. Thats a real life problem, Weird ass. Elijah Fuck outa here
sports bra dawg, its not that bad
HerosMuse Sports bras aren't enough. Doubling them up and wearing super tight tanks tends to help a bit more.
“1 is none, 2 is one...”
3 is fun
But if 2 is 1 and 1 is none, that means that even carrying 2 puts you right back to none, right?
@@dirtysouthbushcraftandmma9784 .....holy shit your right. Only solution is 3. 3 and your done
I used to Carry the Cold Steel Spike Tokyo, almost gutted myself....
Benchmade adamas push knife is awesome. Have to put a 550 cord wrap on it for comfort though. Adds a bit of personal style as well. Gave mine to my 18yo daughter. Comes with a belt clip attached but easy to remove.
40 pound back pack! Please look into ultra light back packing. You'll love it.
For an overnighter dude went heavier than my bugout bag...
I love that Spyderco ARC! I have been carrying the Cold Steel Mini Tac Tanto for the past 3 months. It's great!
I wear mine outside of my shirt because of the knifes size, most people think its a flashlight; this really amuses me of course.
concealed or open van goh?
Always open.
Too soon.
I've carried the ESEE Izula as a necker since they first came out. It may be a little on the large side, but I don't even notice it anymore. I did so from the defensive mindset initially, but all my use of it has been utility. It's been a great little blade.
I'm a natural klutz and I've always figured I would trip over a damn rock, branch, hole or whatever and next thing I know I have my brand new " necker" stickin outta my jugular.
yeah something about having a knife around my heart/neck area just doesn't sit right with me..
That’s awesome !!
I used to carry a Cold Steel Spike. It was a bit heavy but plenty of blade. I still have it...somewhere. Thanks. Cheers!
I wear a Junglas with a dangler from my pierced ear.
I carry a kevlar neck knife (push dagger) in soft leather, sewn sheath. I can wear it thru metal detectors the sewn sheath eliminates rivets and the other metal and provides greater concealability
You guys forgot the tops mini scandi neck knife
I carried the Urban Pal for quite a while and really enjoyed it for the most part. I think the shape is ideal for comfort and concealability, since the knife and sheath fit neatly under the chest/pecs, and the handle does not protrude down very far. The only issues I had with it were that the rubber could grab onto clothing easily, and the T shape of the handle could get snagged and possibly get yanked out of the sheath. It is handy for small admin tasks and CS has an old video demonstrating its use. Good knife over all, but I enjoyed seeing the different options you brought to the table.
The boss won't pay for heating ? What's with the beanie ? ;)
David Anderson probably a balding diversion strategy
Lmaooo yes
Cobra tech otf knife. Like it because they have a small version, it feels good in the hand, the mechanism is smooth and it’s a really good knife for under $100
i dont trust folding knifes after the lock failed an nere cut my thumb off
badwolf you should use a spork
Fixed blades are highly Dependable' I always have My Esee Stainless Steel Izula with black G-10 handles 💪 🇺🇸
Folding knifes only with Triad Lock so that these shit will never happen again!
A great alternative for neck carry is if you hsve a button up shirt, get a kydex wuth ulticlip and mount it through gaps between buttons. Very convenient and nothing on your neck, plus might not bug you as it doesn't travel as far when bouncing.
Ben:carries a 40lbs backpack for n overnight "backpacking" trip hahahhaa. Bit much bro?
feels better stuck between two shirts and all though i like bead chain paracord will be more comfortable
ps: summer makes it a little more difficult to conceal it cause you usually wear a tee-shirt and nothing else in winter it is much more practical especially underneath a sweater I love cold steel knives keep posting more videos
Memes are spicy as heck doggo and my favorite otf is the microtech boba fett large
Where's the Becker Necker?
In the trash. While the Esee Stainless Steel Izula with black G-10 handles is on me. 💪
I have a Becker Necker. It’s on the shoulder strap of my hunting backpack. I’d never wear one on my neck. Seems silly to me.
(Literally.... )

I sleep with my knifes lol

@@joshglover2370 whole thing. and it's not a small collection

We'll see how they work out,
Actually I’m watching us in 2020 it’s your boy coronavirus
I own 3 neck knives. 1 cold steel Secret Edge, and 2 Tanto spikes. Out of all the ones I have owned these are the mose razor sharp, and keep there edge. The spike is also a good self defense knife. The Secret Edge is shorter, but still very versatile. I use a Lansky pocket sharpener, and a few swipes, and it's razo sharp. You should review pocket sharpeners. If you knife gets dull your SOL unless it's a stabbing move. You have the Smith, Lansky, and a handful of others that seem to borrow from those two.
Are you two dating?
I agree on the Skyline fixed blade. It's a little thick, if it was the folder thick it might be better. I've lost a couple CS Mini Pals so I don't key ring carry it anymore. A couple I like are the Blackjack 155 and the Broas Silent Soldier. Make sure you take them off when tanning.
Casey Neistat style 😂🤙
Favorites (in my collection);
Camping - Tops Tibo (154CM limited run) w/micarta scales.
Great design in one of my favorite steels.
Defense - Schrade SCH111 (9C18MoV). Great design and pretty good for alphabet steel - their 440C
Neck knives are for hipsters.
Change my mind
I wear a Smith and Wesson H.R.T.. It can be worn around the neck or on a belt. Rubberized handle and shaft goes to the end of handle. Very nice grip.
