Elven lands should be repatriated to their rightful owners (high elf traitors excepting). Rohan has failed to meet its obligations twice and thus deserves only to be treated like a vassal state (2-3 settlements). Gondor may keep its current capital but the city of Osgiliath and the lands of Ithilien belong to the elves. Keep up the excellent work Izzy!

A book recomendation from me is Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. A great first series from his vast universe and my favourite one. After this everything from him besides Stormlight Archive, this is a still unfinished series and contains the most references to other books so it's most pleasing to find these references while reading this series last.
Campaign wise, I think liberating the westernlands and destroying the Ring would be the best course. As the Noldor, you should keep all the settlements with Palantiri (since they were created by the Noldor and unwisely given to the kingdoms of men). Instead of giving the liberated lands to Gondor, how about Dol Amroth (if they still exist) becasue the blood of the Eldar still runs true in them and they never betrayed the trust of the High King Maernil.
If you thought that fellowship was slow, the simarillion feel like molasses. I recommend the book the way of kings. It's not tolkien, but it's the first book in another great fantasy series
The atlas of middle earth is a good encyclopedia. A thing that is different from the films is that Aragorn, Boromir and Faramir don't have beards because they have elven blood.
If you read the silmarillion, 2 things to be aware of. It takes a bit to get into the story part, a lot of the first couple chapters reads almost like a history book (kindof what it is), and the second is that because these were notes compiled by his son after his death, Tolkien uses the different names for the Valar almost interchangeably, especially early on, so either write a list, or look one up, and have it handy, it will help.
Like you I don't read as much as I used to, so my recommendations are probably dated and oriented to the age I was when I read more often. That said I've always enjoyed the Redwall series. I know they're meant for kids and perhaps my view is tinted by my own nostalgia, but the stories are well written, the important characters have depth, and the world is compelling.

Hello Izzy, might I suggest that we ally with the rest of the elves, a permanent peace between elves would bring great rewards indeed .nice seeing you again.
The reason that Boromir's fall is so sudden in the book is the proximity to Amon Hen... it's also no accident that Frodo ran in that direction either. The ring was desperately calling out to the forces of evil, to return to Sauron, and was probably drawing on the latent power in Amon Hen.... think Ley Lines. Amon Hen is a focal point.
The current leaders of Gondor aren't the ones who sided with Elrond during the kinstrife so that might make it more palatable to regift some lands like Dol Amroth, Lamedon and in Lebennin back to them.
if youre into the type of complete story that lord of the rings is then the sillmarillion will dissapoint you but it is really fascinating and truly epic to read. although a bit tedious at times also still love the videos and yes we need a long episode nr 40 love from austria as always
Unless you’re going for world domination (which I know you’re not) I say give some lands back to the other nations. Maybe start awarding territory to Lothlórien and the Woodland Realm; build a sort of pan-elven coalition. The elven nations claim lordship over these lands!
Hello, friend. An interesting episode, with the first step against Ered Luin done and they are about to fall. After cleansing Ered Luin, it's time to proceed to the next phase of your mission. I am a fan of restoring some good nations in at least the best of their territories, so as to gain allies and hold the Evil back, which means I would ally with the Northern Dunedain giving them Arthedain and Hobbiton as a whole - but only this, Bree should be yours. It's also a good time to restore your economy, as it is in a good shape, but it does need some attention. Perhaps you can set the core of the realm in automanage, so as to proceed with the military build-up. Remember to move the Ringbearer to the point you wish to, if you are to hold a duel with Sauron. And absolutely no other solution can I find but to lose it to a Nazgul, as from there it will surely go to Sauron and you'll have your duel. PS: I am not at all a fan of world conquest, as I believe that the campaign should have a start and an end, with a mission to be accoplished about the One, the main purpose of it. World conquest after it can become very tiring. And my story will end only at the moment when the One will be thrown to the Fire and Sauron's dominion will end. And speaking of the story, let's add another episode: As Elrohir continued his march towards Thorin's Halls, Elladan hit Garth Helegof, an ancient hold of the Dwarfs of Ered Luin. Built during the start of the First Era, the Clanlords wished to hold the region to shield the region from possible incursions to their regions. And also, it served as an outpost with the communication with Durin's realm, before their emigration to the Misty Mountains to form Khazad-dum. It was the Gate of EWred Luin, or, as the Noldor called it, Annon-i-Naugrim-Luin, The Gate of the Blue Dwarfs. But only a small garrison was there, sturdy Dwarfs with good armours, but too few to resist. And the Noldor archers were perfected in their art with the bows. Clanlord Grain was caught in Perth-en-Lhun, as he was there to gather a new army for the next attack against Mithlond after his father's death. However, he halted the attack continuously, so the governor of Mithlond took the opportunity to attack and siege the town. After killing the reinforcements in an ambush, he caught Grain in the town and assailed. There was no Dwarf left alive in the town. As Elrohir passed north of the town, the good news travelled to Carn Dum, from where Maernil had the direct command of the expedition. Though at times some strange news came, of people from the Dunedain and the Dwarfs that wanted to join the ranks of the Noldor. Even people from Bree wanted, as Eriador was liberated and united under a single banner. Maernil was a good king and he didn't mistreat the people, making them to join the armies of the Noldor. Half of Elladan's army was Men of Bree, having ousted the control of the minions of Sauron, while Elrohir had Dunedain and Humans of Dunland and Enedwaith, only one third of his army were Elfs. But Ancalagon was very uneasy with those news and wanted to hear more, thus he was often leaving Carn Dum to roam in the countryside, gathering information and uncovering the minions of Sauron about how they took the control. Just after the fall of Perth-en-Lhun, Ancalagon came in the room with a Dwarf, whom he seemed to respect. Maernil was informed that this Dwarf was a technician of crossbows, named Gurin, and he had a good fame among them, as he was taught from famous teachers, who were not in this world anymore. The Dwarf had come willingly by the side of Noldor, as he actually had evaded the patrols of Thorin's Halls only to surrender to the scouts of the Noldor. And he brought the news that Grain was not killed in the siege. "For long we search who killed our Clanlord", he said to Maernil. "The rumours started even before our attack in Mithlond, but after you reclaimed the city they went wild. Grindfarn and his kin turly rule the Blue Mountains and they have sided with Mordor". "That's very unpleasant", Maernil said to the Dwarf. "We are still kept here fighting into Eriador while the true threat is in the East. This cannot continue for too long". "I agree", Gurin replied. "And many like me also agree. Even from the Dunedain they have said so. But their fate is dire, as too many have been found dead. Lord Aragorn was killed even by his own men after he decided not to fight against you, Lords Halbarad and Hirvegil were also murdered, Balin was murdered... And also our Clanlord was murdered, as he was too close to know who killed his second son, Nar". "Is it true that Grindfarn ordered the murder?", Ancalagon asked. "It is", Gurin answered. "He was killed with a crossbow shot - a very crossbow that I personally had repaired after a battle with Angmar. You can easily understand the wound in my heart. And now I learn that the first son of Clanlord Gor was also killed with this very crossbow before the battle. Rumours started to rise against me and I heard that they want me in trial for treason. I didn't wait". "And you left", Maernil said, "only to fall to the hands of our scouts. But how we can be sure that you are not a spy of Grindfarn?". Ancalagon gave Gurin a sword and the guards went in a close distance, but pretty far. Maernil was standing in front of his seat, while Gurin was in short distance and close to the King, with a sword right in front of him. But his reaction was not expected. "Take this thing out of my sight", he said. "I'm not here to kill the King". And with these words everyone understood that Gurin was not a spy, but all the scenery was made from Ancalagon and Maernil, to uncover such situations. Ancalagon took the sword away and both me and Maernil got closer. And the guards returned to their normal positions. "Good trick", Gurin said to Ancalagon. "It took me a while to read behind the lines. But it is effective, because only a good eye would see that the King has a hidden metal armour under his clothes. Steel it is?". "Indeed", Ancalagon answered. "One of the best we can forge". "I can assure you that Grindfarn is still in Thorin's Halls", Gurin continued. "He was there when I left and I doubt if he has any reasons to leave. Especially now that you control the line of Lhun". "Elrohir will take care of him", Ancalagon replied.
Agreed with nikos. Painting the whole map red would be a chore. Just get Sauron to come back, and then stomp him. As for the settlements past Hornburg, just return them to their rightful owners, save perhaps holding on to some strategic regions (like Calenhad currently). They would be a chore to administer and would take forever to build up to be usable troop hubs anyway. Easier to give them away for Alliance and Military Access and then you don't have to worry about them.
Book recommendation. You should read “An Encyclopedia of Tolkien: The history and mythology that inspired Tolkiens world” by David Day. It’s an amazing read and is very bite size in its reading.
Repatriation of lands should be reserved for the Anduin Vale and Lothlorien alone. All other nations either have weak resolve or weak loyalty. Plus I enjoy a good map painting campaign every now and then haha

Like when you were trying to trade a settlement and asking for an alliance. Keep the good settlement give the rubbish away. Books For Tolkien The Hobbit and The Children of Hurin I would miss the sillmarillion till the last book if you struggled with the fellowship of the ring. Other books anything by Bernard Cornwell is always good.
I had the same problem with LOTR books, the action is just too slow for me and while reading I always imagined characters like they were designed in the films. However when the fellowship reaches Moria it really got interesting for me, but not as much as it did in FOTR movie. Tbf Silmarillion is just so much better imo. I've never read it by myself but used audiobook instead and it's just pure epicness. I guess it's cuz I don't enjoy reading that much and always prefered to listen or watch smthin.
Wait until you read about book Faramir. Man's an actual legend. Silmarillion is not a novel, it's an encyclopedic history chronicle. Undoubtedly boring, but filled with glorious stories.
Hey Izzy, I would like to make some suggestions for this and future campaigns. I think it would be best and most thrilling if you gave the one ring to Mordor so you can fight Sauron, while simultaneously gifting back lands to other good factions as you clear the path to Mordor, because, as you stated yourself, holding all those new settlements will be just a pain and you are powerful enough to confidently beat mordor. But perhaps to make it more different than it being a slog fest, you could send armies on three frontiers, a few in the south liberating gondor and a few in the north to help dale and the dwarves, one part clearing Dol Guldur and moving to the Black Gate and the other most northern army going around helping Dorwinion, sacking Rhun’s heartlands and then slowly working your way down to Mordor from the backside but you can do it so while taking the most key settlements in rhovanion and just burning everything along your way. These key settlements are for example, Dol Guldur, Rhun’s Capital, Barad Dur, Black Gate and so on. I think this would be interesting from a lore perspective of waging war against all the bad guys and crushing the Dark Lords economy and allies before engaging with him and it would make us see battle throughout most of the map without making the campaign too long. This is something no total war youtuber I have seen has done. The other option would be allowing Mordor to get even more powerful and having it so that your faction that holds Eriador is one of the last good guys standing against an onslaught of supreme Mordor that controls the other ⅓ of the entire map and allowing Sauron to come to you, defeating him, then pushing straight to Mordor with a giant elven army we could pretend it set sail from Valinor and landed around Umbar and then push to Minas Morgul. Those are my suggestions and wishes for this campaign. The next campaign however, I think you should choose either Khazad Dum, Dale or Gondor, campaigns which you have done a long time ago and are the most interesting ones left. If you choose Khazad Dum, don't do a typical Moria reclamation campaign because we have seen enough of the misty mountains, rather, turn off the scripts and make your new home in Helms Deep or Mornedhel in Dorwinion or even in somewhere on the border of Mordor, which again, no one has done before and I really want to see a harder dwarven campaign in the middle of the hottest contested warfronts in middle earth. Something about a dwarven horde faction having a hard time building up while fighting with Gondor or Rohan or Dorwinion as allies is something I really want to see. If you choose Gondor, maybe take over Dol Amroth and fight against more enemies to make it interesting, or you could defend at Osgiliath and make a priority to take down Isengard first and maybe even reclaim the lands of Rhovanion after you have defeated Mordor. For the Dale campaign, I’d prefer you go for Dol Guldur and Mordor and ignore rhun because it's too generic and I've seen it plenty of times. And lastly, there is one final faction you should consider, but implementing a never before seen horde faction starting region, using the Ar-Adunaim. I know you have played them before but the faction is very popular and it’s been years since you have done it so maybe a new updated campaign would be in order, as I especially enjoyed Galu’s struggle in Eriador when he started at Lond Daer in his campaign, but instead you could choose go take over Angmar, Erebor, Isengard or Dorwinion to be your starting point.
Joe Abercrombie and his "The First Law" books are amazing. And if you get the audiobook then just make sure that they are read by Steven Pacey as he does an absolutely brilliant job.

Restore!
Restor regions!
Yeah izzy dont restore factions keep the settlements u conquer
I would say conquer because everyone else was Elrond fanboys and deserve nothing
Make allies give regions for alliances
No, don’t restore other nations. They lost. You’re not here to give charity. Keep what you conquer (except maybe Rohan).
Joe Abercrombie and his "The First Law" books are amazing.
And if you get the audiobook then just make sure that they are read by Steven Pacey as he does an absolutely brilliant job.
