I love devlogs. Your tone and accent are very relaxing. Nice to listen to while I work on my own project. This is really making me want a big game-dev discord where we can just post screenshots and cry together about our dev problems.
Eh, I was hoping my accent wouldn't end up drawing too much attention 😬 Regarding the discord servers - there probably are some, but most end up being too big and overwhelming. Maybe I'll make one more in the future 😊
@@Elzereth I've just been listening to some EF and Bjork lately who have similar voices. That's always the worry with servers. I'd rather know everyone personally in a smaller one than one or two people in a large one. Wanting to meet people vs being afraid of them as well. Perhaps I'll make a tiny one with just people I know and do personal invites instead of a link.
a lot of optimization comes from the code and how u handle monobehaviours on scene. If u have a lot of game assets playing a loop animation in this case environment/gameplay related. U can optimize creating an Update manager this way all objects will suscribe to an Interface with a tick and u will avoid creating many update/tick functions for every game object u have in scene. The idea is to run 1 single update and all the objects are linked through the interface to that unique Update. Is kinda simple and there are many examples on internet but it is a really good approach to optimize fps.
Unity is sometimes so wierd with all these relatively basic things that users end up throwing away to make their own, but better. Like, there is an update function already, but if you make yours - it's going to be better :D I'm going to try this one, thanks!
@@Elzereth yea if u have some free time read about S.O.L.I.D implementation this way when u do things u will have the theory on your mind and u will do less and less random things.
@@Damian_DH Imagine a character artist who spent years in the industry and made a career out of it, then switched to drawing environments for fun and gets a 'maybe read about what color theory is' comment. Just like this one 😁

This is the softest voice ever on internet. Congrats on the game dev journey too
Great job, just don't stop you're on the right way to success
Nice progress!
Looks very cozy!
