Cool vid. Where you from? Your accent sounds so similar to my native language
I just stumbled upon your channel out of nowhere while going down another gamedev rabbit hole. It's a cool game :)
Thanks! I'm from Ukraine, what about you?

OMG IT’S WORK!!!
Hi, Elzereth. I can't get this base and other files with play asset delivery, it only gives me aab, what could be the reason? Thank you...
Hi! It is working correctly, you should not get these folders, only aab. These folders are in the video to show what is inside the aab in different cases. You can change aab extension to zip and open it, then you'll see the folders.
@@Elzereth My normal aab file size is 590mb. With this system I will output a single aab file and when I change the .aab part to .zip I will be able to see the files inside. With the asset bundle system, I don't need to add my scenes to add folders and select install time from there. I lack resources on this subject, so I apologize for drowning in questions... Thank yoouu.
@@BayramAliBayrak-i4b sorry, I didn't get the question 😅 but I'll try to provide some more context: The thing I'm showing IS the asset bundle system, but if you don't need to use the advanced part with custom bundles - you can just select to build a single install-time bundle (separate from base app) and have no issues publishing. It will pack it into the same aab. The custom ones are for bigger projects that will require download on demand, so with your aab size you're good to go without it. Hope it helps :)
@@Elzereth Thank you very much for your help, I am glad you exist. I just had this question in mind, my base file is 280mb. My base_asset file is 1.8 GB. Do you think these sizes will cause problems? How should we proceed?
@@BayramAliBayrak-i4b the "easy way" described in the video is only going to work if your app/game is less then 1GB. But previously you said it's 590mb? In any case, if it is bigger - I'd suggest to look into reducing the build size (there are lots of tutorials, but I can't really send links here). Mostly it's about compressing textures, music and other stuff. If it is already done and the size is still too big - you need other types of asset bundles. Can't really suggest anything more detailed here.
Thanks
where will i find the folder with the base and base assets please
Generally, you don't need that folders. They are in the video to show the difference in sizes. However, if you want to see real sizes inside the app bundle - just change your aab file to *.zip and unzip it, you're going to have the same folders as in the video.
@@Elzereth Thanks. I was looking fo that
thank you
❤❤❤❤❤
😂😂 I am sorry, but 😂😂😂😂😂
It is what it is :D
This is the softest voice ever on internet. Congrats on the game dev journey too

Who needs a heating system when there is a GPU? 😅
wow! this game looks so cute!🥰🥰🥰
Nice progress!
very nicee
Great job, just don't stop you're on the right way to success
a lot of optimization comes from the code and how u handle monobehaviours on scene. If u have a lot of game assets playing a loop animation in this case environment/gameplay related. U can optimize creating an Update manager this way all objects will suscribe to an Interface with a tick and u will avoid creating many update/tick functions for every game object u have in scene. The idea is to run 1 single update and all the objects are linked through the interface to that unique Update. Is kinda simple and there are many examples on internet but it is a really good approach to optimize fps.
Unity is sometimes so wierd with all these relatively basic things that users end up throwing away to make their own, but better. Like, there is an update function already, but if you make yours - it's going to be better :D I'm going to try this one, thanks!
@@Elzereth yea if u have some free time read about S.O.L.I.D implementation this way when u do things u will have the theory on your mind and u will do less and less random things.
@@Damian_DH Imagine a character artist who spent years in the industry and made a career out of it, then switched to drawing environments for fun and gets a 'maybe read about what color theory is' comment. Just like this one 😁
I love devlogs. Your tone and accent are very relaxing. Nice to listen to while I work on my own project. This is really making me want a big game-dev discord where we can just post screenshots and cry together about our dev problems.
Eh, I was hoping my accent wouldn't end up drawing too much attention 😬 Regarding the discord servers - there probably are some, but most end up being too big and overwhelming. Maybe I'll make one more in the future 😊
@@Elzereth I've just been listening to some EF and Bjork lately who have similar voices. That's always the worry with servers. I'd rather know everyone personally in a smaller one than one or two people in a large one. Wanting to meet people vs being afraid of them as well. Perhaps I'll make a tiny one with just people I know and do personal invites instead of a link.
Nice!
i js dont know how to thank u ❤ do u have ig or discord?
Glad it helped :) I don't really post much anywhere besides this and my other YT channel
@@Elzereth ❤️❤️❤️, Yeah it's ok i just need it when i have qus or anything else, ofc if u don't mind
Great success indeed, saved me a lot of time!
👍
I have too many ideas and too much scope :( its time to actually fi nish a game!! Great video :D
It is time indeed :D Thanks!
Looks pretty promising and I feel like the scope is just about right too.
Thanks! The scope used to be bigger, with 3 different biomes and related mechanics. Hope I can get back and implement it at some point :)
C# is the love of MY life, so I think we have to fight now. Really fun video and good luck with your game! Keep it up
I do hope there’s enough C# for both of us! Fighting back with something like Xamarin Forms might be a problem :D Thank you! It means a lot to me
I Have a Great Simple Movement Script with Rotation if u need It ....
Hi and thanks for reaching out! The coding part is done and I quite like the results, so, I guess, the things I still need to do can’t really be solved with coding, unfortunately. But I’m grateful for the offer in any case :)
Which one of your gamedev choices do you regret the most?
Doing everything on my own 🥲
Great progress!
Thanks <3
