For a full party you need 4 characters.
You can get more characters from wishing (F3). As a new player u do not need to spend money on the game.
There are 3 pulling items: acquaint fates (the blue ones - use to pull on the standard banner), intertwined fates (pinkish - use to pull on the limited time banner) and primogems.
You convert the primos to fates. Be careful not to convert then to acquaint fates. We all saving them for the limited banner.
Right now, there are 2 limited 5* characters: Clorinde and Alhaitham.
Alhaitham is a great DPS and his playable kit is so fun. If u want a really good character you can try to get him.
Clorinde is also good but her kit is so much complicated and it's not as fun as Alhaitham's.
You may do the trials for characters and get rewards. That's also how you will know if you will like the characters from the current banners.
If you're gonna be F2P, that won't be a problem. But of course don't expect to get all characters, after all, you won't need to. Just save up your primogems and wait for the characters you want to show up. You also don't need to pull on weapon banners. There will be a lot of free weapons.
Most importantly, enjoy the game.

I’ve been playing for around two years now and I’ve not gotten sick of this game yet. The open world is consistently gorgeous and the story just keeps getting better and better as Genshin as a whole, story-wise, is gearing up for the end game stuff with its second to last elemental nation releasing in a couple months (there will be seven of them in the end)
As a new player there’s so much to discover and explore. Genshin at its core is a game you can log into and relax with at the end of a long day and have fun with and It’s best experienced at your own pace.

The test runs are completely free! They are there so you can try out a character and see if you like him or her. You even get some small rewards when you do them, so you can just fo them whenever you want.
Also, if you don't want to, you don't have to spend any money on this game! I have been playing for 2 years and haven't spend any money, and I got every character that I want to have

fun fact: the opening screen and music changes depending on the time of the day you are opening the game. So you play mostly at night.. gotta agree playing at night is the best.
Mostly when I am feeling the most relaxed yes, I love to play at night. The soundtrack is stunning! 😍
the game is 99,999% f2p, the only thing hidden behind a paywall are few skins but they are only looks, no effects (and there are also free skins to be obtainable via events) and a handfull of weapons (weekly pass weapons). Everything else is either play/plan or pay (play = invest time to get the currency in game and plan which charas/weapons to pull). On characters, you can beat the hardest content in the game with just the starter characters if you want so characters are really just personal preferences for game-fun. Also: Play the characters you like and don't bother for people saying XY is shit. Resources will all come back so even if you invest in a character you currently enjoy and abandon it later, it doesn't matter (it's just a time-question). Finally, not every 5star is better than every 4star. Hence why, you want to invest in characters you enjoy. So early in the game, perfect team comps don't matter either that much, this will all come with time.
Surprises me about the only thing locked behind a paywall is skins. Thank you so much for all the beginners tips, you'll save me a lot of pain in the future. ❤🙌

I watched your first Genshin playthrough video and was like hooked. I like your vibe, the way you look at the game, the joy of interacting with the characters and just the overall positive tone you have.
One of the reasons that I continue to play this game for so many years, is because of the joy I get out of all the stories, getting to know and getting attached to the characters and the music is so so good!
Right now you are in the early stages, so think of it as sort of like an ongoing tutorial that eases you into understanding the game mechanics as you go.
The loading screen is quite enjoyable no matter the time of day and it's so cool how it changes depending on when you log onto the game.
Also I am mostly a 'comment as you watch' type person, so my apologies if this comment gets too long!
Paimon is so entertaining. She has her moments where she annoyed me, but overall she's quite an adorable little guide hehe.
I love how plentiful ingredients are on this game. You'll find so many for cooking!
Oh to collect the dandelions- use your anemo character (your main one for the moment) to blow wind at the dandelions so that you can collect them. To do that, stand in front of them and hit your skill button. You can then collect them.
I like Amber. She's a mix of nice and sassy.
Ah wind gliders are such a great way to get around when you don't have characters who aid in that- but later on as you play more and get more into the game, you can make wishes to obtain more characters.
I'm quite fond of Kaeya. That's all I will say.
Ahh this feels so nostalgic for me but it also brings me joy to see these earlier stages in the game. 🥲
The music in this game is SO Good. I might repeat that but there's just so much to enjoy in this game and I am very excited to keep watching!
OH About the wishes: So, you don't have to spend money in the game but you can if you want to. Starting out, I didn't spend but as time went on, I did.
There are two typed of fates. Acquaint Fates and Intertwined Fates. The first one is used for Novice Banner and Standard Banner(Standard is the Purple One). The second one is for Premiere Character wish banners and also for weapon banner.
Also, the Test Characters is where you can preview/play the featured characters to get a feel for them and you get a few rewards after doing their trials.

You'll probably be getting a lot of tips so I'll keep it brief, the only way to GRIEF YOUR ACCOUNT is if you spend your primogems on buying the acquaint fates (blue wishes), or anything else that is not the INTERTWINED FATE (the purple wishes). Only spend your primogems on purple wishes, for the EVENT BANNER. GEMS = PURPLE WISH for EVENT BANNER.
some additional tips on wishing that may be helpful, only the above tip is really important.
- The blue wishes you got for free in the mail you can spend any time on the beginner banner, and then move on to the standard banner. this never changes.
- the primogems and purple wishes can be used on any event banner you like (the banners with the timer countdown), the devs are super nice in that you will eventually get a 5 star (pity at 90 wishes) and this counter will carry over to all following event banners (and are shared between the current banners). The banners switch every 3 weeks. There is a really good character (furina) rerunning in 8 days if you want to wait. But pulling for characters is not necessary to progress at all, so it's generally recommended to pull for who you like!

So in 8 days I’ll use my current primogems and turn them into wishes then go into the banner and wish for her? Is that correct?
@@noirjambongames Basically, you can convert Primogems to fates whenever you want to, just don't spend the unless you're ok with getting the featured limited 5-Star. For example, you can convert the Primogems into fates now, but wish for Furina when her banner appears.

no need to pay for wishes. You gather primogems as you play. Then you convert primogems to wishes. (you were given free wishes in the mail .. enough to pull for Noelle. You just need to find the button to click on teh Noelle banner, if you want to collect her.). No rush though. You can progress very easily with the characters that pop up in the game. Plenty of time to familiarise with the system.

One of the yearly special events included a backstory for a 4 star character: Fishl. (4 star characters are the meat and potatoes characters. 5 star characters are the specially promoted fancy characters). For her special event she had this spectacular walkabout battle music .. never to be heard in game again ...

@@noirjambongames I wouldn't call it Hiring, once you get them you have them for always, they wont go anywhere ever.
The gacha system can be complicated at first, but all you need to know now is 160 primogems = 1 wish, a 4 star character or weapon is guaranteed every 10 wishes, a 5 star is guaranteed every 90 wishes (although you could get them earlier, and chances for that drastically increase after 70 ish wishes)
The game gives you a lot of primogems for free so there's no need to spend money, unless you wamt to🤷♂️
The opening music only has singing when it shows the night sky with moon. Lore experts have a theory for the reason, but nothing's been confirmed.
Favonius is a name the Romans used for the West Wind. Something I certainly had not heard of before starting this game.
As others have said, there is no need to spend money. I have a 15-month old completely f2p account that can accomplish everything my twice as old low spender account can.

@@noirjambongames Whichever happens to suit my mood. I don't have a 'main'. Still, I almost always have Zhongli or Layla, who as shielders give safety and stability to the others. Also usually one of my healers comes along, but which one depends on what elemental reactions I want to use for the content we are facing. Same goes for my DPS. The f2p account has less alternatives there, so it is usually Neuvillette (hydro), Wriothesley (cryo) or Navia (geo) these days. I am trying to get (but probably won't) Al-Haitham as I don't have enough time to hunt down the required primogems. But any wish has a tiny chance, so I won't give up. The 4th is usually someone who can make the others shine. These names mean nothing to you now, but you'll meet them later on. :)
Every single character in this game is good enough if built and given suitable team. So, just go with the characters you like.
Hello all the way from Greece :) i just discovered your channel . You should definitely continue with Genshin it has one of the most amazing soundtracks , and since i also produce music i love Genshin's OST so much , 2 other games btw that i'd love to recomend to you are Ori and the blind forest and Goddess of Victory NIKKE , this second one is again an anime gatcha game , but they characters are mainly very .. how to put it .. sexy ? haha anyway the thing is that it actually has very good storyline and amazing electronice dance music soundtrack. Plus the devs listen to the players a lot :D . Keep going and i hope you will explore more of these amazing games

Another great video and the PRIMOGEM you have been collecting save them up to unlock other character in the future. Best not to spend on the game you will have enough resources to get other characters in the future. Cant wait for Ep 3 Keep up the great work
Tip. the other currency is used to make wish to unlock character and weapon. Intertwined fates - Pinkish is used to get limited character (currently is Clorinde)
Acquaint fate - is for the Standard or Permanent banner
You can go to the Shop > Paimon's Bargain > Star glitter Exchange or Stardust Exchange - Its like a mileage/loyalty point for wishing

The wish is how you get characters to play as and the fates are what you use to wish every 10 wishes is a guaranteed 4-star character or higher and on the character banner witch ever characters are show they have a higher chance of getting

well you got a free ten acquaint fates so i would get noelle cause for a starter shes a good Sheidler and for the intertwined fates their for the limited time character banners and for the good 5-stars but in all honesty just wish for the characters you want and you can look at all the characters in the character archives or just look them up

@@noirjambongames General advice is to only use your primogems on the purple wishes (intertwined fate), not the blue wishes (acquaint fate). Since you can only use the blue wishes on the standard banner. And the standard banner is completely random which character (or weapon) you get. While the purple wishes, you can use on "event banners", which have specific characters on it that change every 21 days. So you can chose which characters you want to have.
A little more info on how to get characters if you want. This game has a "pity system", which means after 90 wishes, you are guaranteed to get a 5 star character. At first, you have a 50% chance of it being the one you see on the banner, and a 50% for it to be a random 5 star character from the standard banner. If you get the character that you want, you "won" the 50/50, if you get a standard banner character, you "lose" the 50/50. After you have lost the 50/50, the next 5 star you get, is guaranteed to be the one that you want. This is also another reason why you shouldn't use your primogems on the blue wishes. You will get the standard banner characters eventually by losing the 50/50s. Also, the game remembers how many wishes you have done, so even if you have run out of time and the banners change, the number of wishes you had done (your pity) will not be reset

My rig is top tier. I don't need it I'm running a 4090 with Ryzen 9 and 128gb ram. I don't need the framerates. I'm hitting like 600fps
@@noirjambongames bruh its not for frames, it reduces the jagged edges and smooths the edges of 3d objects, since u have a high end pc u can max out the render resolution, it currently at 1.1 turn it up to 1.5.

Every characters have 5 slot to equip artifacts, which are flower, feather, head piece, cup, and watch, you can only equip 1 flower/feather/cup etc, collect and equip same artifact set in different slot give you additional 2 pieces and 4 pieces effect, and you can level up it to increase the stats, but only do it after you acquire blue/purple/gold artifacts.

@noirjambongames you can only equip one of each catagory on your characters as you progress youll gain way more artifacts though so its nothing to worry about for now
