Great filmmaker discussing a great film --- can't believe no one has commented yet, but these TCM comment videos are always fascinating to watch.

I didn't like Blow Up at all when I first saw it.
But, on a second viewing, I appreciated the brilliant cinematic technique and the ending where you can hear the mimed tennis match which makes the photographer question his perception of reality and everything he had experienced.
It's such a bold move for Antonioni to have made this as his first English language film and also to have cast an unknown actor in David Hemmings whose character dominates the movie.
Oddly enough, Hemmings didn't rate Blow Up.
The star didn't appreciate or fully understand the significance of the film.
But then again, Hemmings made some pretty dodgy career choices, so he probably had very poor taste.
