Thanks, man. I had no idea. What I heard was not bad at all, IMO. Yes, psychedelic and different from Billy Joel's other stuff, sure, but not bad. Now, I want to find the album.
Billy Joel also was the leader of the house band for a late night tv show starring Chip Monk, one of the stage announcers at Woodstock. he left the show to tour for his second album Piano Man ! that earlier post was a mistake sorry.
@@EternallyUncoolTrevor I actually used to watch the show only on for about a year he left in the episode three or for he and the band got two songs a show! you can catch some clips here on youtube search Chip Monck speakeasy/ clips
How did I never know about this? I went to give it a listen after this... It's better than I thought it would be, but I'm never going to listen to it again 😆
Attila is not as bad as they would have you believe- it's one guitar away from early deep purple or uriah heep- very much 1970- and keys/drums duos were not unknown at the time (look up Lee Michaels)- its just the "respected" critics have always dismissed Billy Joel for most of his career and have never passed on an opportunity to bash him
@@EternallyUncoolTrevor I bought a copy around 1973 in a cut out bin at woolworth mostly because the cover looked cool to me at 17 years old and i still have it and i think it's a great hard rock album - i like it a lot
:D I was your 1000th sub!
Love your videos man no idea why I wasn’t subscribed before
Scream us a song, you're a metal band. Scream us a song tonight.
We're all in the mood for a melody and you've got to screaming all night!
Great video! i had never heard of this album before. it sounds like a lot fun.
Definitely worth a listen at least once
Nice work.
you're doing great!

It’s on TH-cam! I still have yet to find a physical copy, though
@@EternallyUncoolTrevor Found it on TH-cam! Thanks. I actually really like these guys.
Congratulations on reaching 1K subscribers!!!
Thank you!
Well I learned something new today

I fucking love that album! IMO it's fantastic without any if's or but's
It’s a hidden gem
How did I never know about this?

Honestly it’s good to listen to it at least ONCE. It’s definitely an experience lmao
Somehow I didn’t know any of this and I’ve been a fan of his for years
It doesn't sound that bad, i've heard MUCH worse 70's psychedelic rock.
Right? It has a weird kind of charm to it
Sounds like Deep purple if Ritchie Blackmore phoned in sick!
I was trying to figure out who they reminded me of!
Sounds like a weird mixture off uriah heep and deep purple
Can't lie. I still kinda enjoy the album
It’s a fun album! I don’t understand the hate
Yeah.. honestly Attila wasn't that bad. And Joel goes HARD on the keyboards on that album.
Oh yeah, the keyboard is absolutely insane. Idk why but I love the sound of old keyboards
I've never listened to it. Always been scared that it ruin Billy Joel for me.
Honestly, it made me appreciate him even more
Iron Butterfly was more tedious then them.
I detect no lies

I really enjoy the album. I think it’s a hidden gem of 70s hard rock. I always take what critics say with a grain of salt.

@@frankgianetti2357 I’m jealous. This album is one of my White Whales as far as records go.
This could have been half as long and just as informative.
I mean…you’re not wrong.
That would have also meant half as entertaining.
Yah not bad
