I currently have KO2s on my FJ and I went from the Ridge Grappler to the Geolander on my Tacoma. I knew I wanted an MT on the truck and the deciding factor for me was the weight. I'm running a 2.7 4cyl and every pound counts. Geolanders have served me well so far.
That engine doesn't have a lot of HPs. Neither does the 4runner. So far I can't notice a huge difference in the weight.
My daily driver has about 46,000 miles on a set of KM3s and probably has about 10,000 miles left. I love them and have no complaints. But just thinking about if I should get another set or try the Nittos.
@1fsttoy that is amazing. I have about 20k on mine and I think they are down 3/32 from new. I would stick with what you love. Don't fix what's not broken.
You're about to hate your life, I had the Geolander G003s in a 285 75 17 on my 4runner and while I lived the tire it turned the 4urnner into a gutless pig, I couldn't even get up to speed when pulling out in traffic, it was really hard to maintain speed at anything over 65mph without cruise, due to the tires being so heavy any larger bumps on the road would throw the vehicle around a lot more, lastly the road noise as they wear gets worse and worse. I eventually went to ridge grapplers in a SL load rating in a 285 70 17 and OMG the difference in ride and MPG is amazing. I was getting 12mpg now getting 16 to 17mpg. If you plan on continuing to run that heavy of a tire you may want to look at re-gearing as well depending on the size of the tire.

You may not have as much of an issue as I did running the larger 285 75 17s but I'm interested to see given the tires are the same weight.

My old jk had Toyo mt’s 255/85/16. Looking at 285/75/17 ridge grapplers for newer JT. Have a relative that always goes with mt’s because “I don’t want to get stuck because tire couldn’t do it’s job”
Depending on the main use of the vehicle would be what helps me make my final decision. AT tires are not a huge handicap in off roading in most situations
My Nitto RG are a bit slippery on snow in CO. Otherwise good for rest of the year.

Funny how Mickey Thompson where not an option. Currently running k02 but am looking at Mickey Thompson for the next batch.
I think they would be a good tire. Not as popular with with everyone I know and wheel with so I didn't have as much knowledge on them.
I currently have the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT. 35x12.50R18. on a tundra. Have not run them in snow, but mud, heavy rain/ wet road, sand and rock...hands down the best tire I have ever had. 15000 miles and wear is perfect. Have run previously cooper, toyo, falken and bfg.

@@trucksnstuff1867 that is great to know. I wouldn't see much snow anyway. Mud and wet roads are where I would want the best performance. I will have to check them out.
Part 2 on this yet? I am on my second set of KM3’s on my f-150 Raptor and absolutely love them. Got a Bronco wildtrak and hate the stock tires on trails as they just grab every rock and pebble and launches them every which way. So I am looking to replace them and first thought is KM3 because how great they are off road. However, KM3’s aren’t the greatest in the snow (like most M/T’s). So have been looking for something that is a good balance of well mannered on road, can handle snow (seeing that I live in a snowy region) and doesn’t give up too much aggressive tread/sidewall strength/off road capability.
With ALL that said, ridge grapplers (load range E for stronger sidewall and extra tread) are on the short list and curious on your thoughts after having had the KM3’s for a few months now.
I like them. So far more than the Ridge Grapplers. Maybe check out the Trail Grapplers. I have heard good things about the KM3s in the snow but I don't love where it snow regularly so it is just hear say.
Where at in Ga are you? I’m up in Cleveland. I have the KM3 in my wrangler. Love them.

Thank you for asking. So far i have about 6k miles on them. They have been stellar on and off road. No complaints from me.

@joshyddog2054 I agree. I wish I could rotate a full set of AT tires on it for road trips that don't include wheelin. To save the MTs but that's not in the works right now.

I got xterra I'm planing to throw them on. So just looking at tires right now trying make my choice!!
Have you seen anyone running the Klever kenda mt tires?

@@joshyddog2054 the Kendas are popular here in Georgia. They don't get a lot of attention because they aren't a big famous brand on race trucks or posted on social media like BFG or Mickey Thompson or even the popular Wildpeaks
Kanatti mud hogs went with them for price and weight

i run 2 sets falken wildpeak at3 w and km3s depending what im doing
