Victor made the creature by himself. Does that mean while he was making the creature he was like, "Ah yes. I shall bless my creation with a big dingus, something in which I do not possess!"
In the book he didn't want to make the creature a wife because he was worried they'd have babies together so... apparently, not only did he pick out a dong, but gave him a fully functioning reproductive system. This man is no clown; he is the entire circus
@@wandanemer2630 True, but Caroline did die after caring for Elizabeth when she caught the scarlet fever, and her dying wish was for Victor and Elizabeth to be married...so...Elizabeth was kinda guilt tripped into it
@@charlenepepiot6923 And so was Victor. Strangely enough, in the book at least, right after Henry's death, when Victor quite literally wanted to just die already, Elizabeth wrote him a letter on the way back home, saying she suspected that Victor being so distant with her, throughout, like, the previous SEVEN YEARS, so melancholic, and refusing to write to her even after explicitly being requested to do so, may be meant Victor wasn't *REALLY* in love with her, and just felt obligated to go on with the marriage to honor his parents' wishes. She recognized that niether of them had had any say in the matter, having been set up as children (and specially her, being LITERALLY ADOPTED SO SHE COULD MARRY VICTOR) and she suspected Victor might have fallen in love with someone else in all those years, and it was because of that that he'd been avoiding her so much, still being lovesick, but incapable of acting on it out of love and respect for his family. She then said she always loved him as a brother and a dear friend, and if that was the case, the last thing she'd want is to stand in the way of Victor's last chance of love and happiness, after all the misery they all had gone though (and specially after Henry's death). So, if he so wished, SHE WAS WILLING AND HAPPY TO CANCEL THE WEDDING. That she would still be happy to keep Victor as family and to see them all happy at long last. That he didn't need to reply right away, or at all, but to keep in mind that she would be supportive if he chose to put an end to the engagement, and his dad would probably too, since he was so worried about him by now he'd pretty much agree to anything that would pull Victor out of his illness of the heart. (!!!!) And considering the Creature had already told Victor about "being with him on his wedding day"... HE HAD A CHANCE RIGHT THERE. THAT WAS HIS OUT! GE COULD HAVE SAVED ELIZABETH *RIGHT THERE!* AND HIS DAD, TOO!! HE COULD HAVE PULLED OUT, RIGHT THERE!! Even *IF* he did love Elizabeth in a romantic way, or even if it was too late for him to persue his "other love" now that Henry was dead... HE COULD HAVE SAVED HER!!! I can ONLY fathom his choice of going on with it, after that, from what I understood in the book, was because that would be his best chance to get to the Creature, lure him out and either kill it (yeah right, not even he believed that at this point) or, better still, the Creature would finally kill him and get it done with. He had actually tried to kill himself several times before that, after Henry died, and even on the ship where he read the letter. He had to be under constant watch, had nightmares and panicked delusional episodes about Henry and the Creature. I think at this point... he wasn't thinking too clearly, and kind of just wanted to die. Even so... there was NO NEED to drag Elizabeth into that like that. SHE *GAVE HIM AN OUT...* AND HE WOULD NOT TAKE IT. 🤦🏻♀️
@@wandanemer2630 you bring up several fine points! And I know Alphonse SPECIFICALLY asked Victor if he loved Elizabeth or not, and if he was over her they could cancel the wedding no problem, so yeah, Victor didn't HAVE to do it at all. The sad thing is that Victor (beautiful, vain, conceited boy that he is) honestly thought the monster's threat of being with him on his wedding night was meant to kill HIM, not Elizabeth. One would THINK that if your enemy has only ever hurt you by killing your family and you just brutally tore apart his wife in front of him, that he might seek revenge on YOUR wife, but hey, that's just me. For being the Modern Prometheus, Victor is a bit lacking in the 'forethought' part of his namesake.... I personally think Victor loved Elizabeth (he only set out to beat death after she nearly died/his mother's death), but she deserved better. Much better. Preferably someone who could stop being an overdramatic Romantic long enough to casually mention an 8-foot tall superhuman has his name circled on a hitlist and is probably after her life too...

@@casual-owl My idea is that he was found by Captain Walton, Walton told the story Victor told him that he wrote down, and Ernest probably did not take it well.
