It's cool that the Canadian version of this game has separate cards for English and French. Not a lot of board games I've seen do that. Most I've seen in the store just sell the English version and you have to buy elsewhere if you want a French version.
3:20 - That's actually good of them to do. Less plastic waste to throw away. 10:00 - Chateau de Bowser, serving the finest wines to the Mushroom Kingdom since 1983. 11:00 - And nothing included to keep the coins or cards from getting scattered about, like zip bags. Must've figured the target audience wouldn't be bothered. 13:35 - Sadly, the bonus packs use all the plastic (and paper) saved packaging the main game. DOH! 14:15 - On the other hand, this solves a problem: What if more than one player wants to be Toad? Now they both can! 18:30 - So if they actually start doing that, we know who to blame. And of all of the metrics you could have used to rate the game with, WHY DIDN'T YOU USE STARS? It would have been _so_ on brand.
I feel like, something that would be a great got-ya prank, but also deeply infuriating; 1. "How can we sell a game, twice?" "Gamers love loot boxes and gacha games right? So why dont we do that?" 2. And then they just make them all Toads, with a sticker saying; "Sorry but your piece is in another blind bag!"
I'd forgotten this, but Beej saying that the mascot is called Uncle Pennybags reminded me of the Junior Monopoly I played when I was very young - you were all taken to the funfair by your Uncle Pennybags, and every time you passed Go! you'd get $2 pocket money.
I'm enjoying these, but I would greatly like to see them uploaded before the AFK the games are featured on airs. One of the fun draws is seeing the hosts try to make sense of the components as they unpack them but a lot of that gets lost when you've already seen them play the game and explain the rules.
Ok, it's a good thing I know you people are entertaining, because I would have never watched a thing about Monopoly otherwise. I hope it turns out to be fun to play too!
I like the idea of a family buying this game, finding the French instructions on top; never thinking to look under the plastic insert; never finding the coins or English instructions underneath; and thinking they somehow got the wrong version of the game. I mean, I hate that idea... but you also kinda have to love the incompetence of the manufacturing design.
This is really interesting to me! I've got a different version of Nintendo-themed Monopoly. I wonder why they felt the need to create multiple versions.
I don't give even half a crap about the focus of the show. I just wanna listen to Ben and Beej banter while I do other stuff. So I guess it's working for me?
Mario: "Try'a Monopoly, Gamer Edition!!!" . . . ok, first of all- I honestly do wonder what was going on that lead to this idea. Like why Monopoly, why not a custom thing?
Such a great concept for a show, but I really don't understand the choice of games for these. A Monopoly, a card game and a VHS game are not the best subject matter for this concept. How about any of your big dungeon crawlers with lots of minis? Would LOVE to see the new Heroquest on here. Or any game that has more of a "toy factor". Ben and Beej's comedic chemistry still made this entertaining, but I can't wait for this to be about a game that I'm actually interested in the components of.
Noted! The ones covered so far are games that have been sent/given to us. As we have a big backlog of games, we're making our way through them. But I will definitely keep this in mind for future episodes. Thanks! - Ben
"I need a strong man to tell me which of my powers I can use" good to see Beej is still holding some Other M annoyance in his heart
I'm glad to see Beej still isn't over Metroid: Other M.
Hyped for Gamer Monopoly: After Dark so I can finally see Luigi

The entire board is bilingual as well with French and English for all the written text.

Much like other Nintendo games, the coins are hidden inside a box
"Aight everyone, get your War-Hams, we're playing Battle Bacon."
Ahh yes, more Koala-ity content from the fine folks at LRR!
It is a smaller board. Only 9 places a side instead of 11.

I immediately thought of that too!
So help me, when they said two toads, my brain just went 'Two Toads, chillin' in a hot tub, five feet apart 'cause they're not gay...'

anyone else panic when at 3:10 ben started cutting toward his palm or just me?
Only everyone who is aware of Ben :p

16:37 I guarantee you Beej, someone has indeed said that Rosalina is thicc.
Love this series. Now I’ll always know ‘what’s in the box!?’.
Oh god, watching Ben handle that utility knife is terrifying.
It's been a while since I've heard someone reference Zellers
Dingled the bingle! Loving this new series!

Engagement for the engagement god!
Love see this game played in full
I can't believe you didn't take out the coins. That's the most annoying part to put back in the box
Monopoly headcanon: Uncle Pennybags is Daddy Warbucks' brother.
They should have shoved all the trash in the bottom of the box like last time 😄 this was a great episode
Château de Bowser
Warhammer Monopoly is when capitalism went too far? Boy, do I have bad news for you, Ben ;)
I'm kinda tempted to find a ridiculously complex game to send in.
This is the best version of Monopoly, because it is so not Monopoly. It has an actual forced end when you've reached Go 8 times.
I don't give even half a crap about the focus of the show. I just wanna listen to Ben and Beej banter while I do other stuff. So I guess it's working for me?
Are there versions of monopoly where the pieces aren't metal?
These ones sure aren’t metal
@@LRRTT you got me there
If there's one thing I think of when I think of Nintendo it's non-capitalism... Wait a second.
Mario: "Try'a Monopoly, Gamer Edition!!!"
. . . ok, first of all-
I honestly do wonder what was going on that lead to this idea.
Like why Monopoly, why not a custom thing?
Can someone please please please teach Ben how to use a knife correctly before he stabs himself in the thumb?!
