Rim wasn't a particularly notable person during Yi Sang's chapter. Rather he was one of the smaller named ones that just got reffered to in passing when talking about how various members either vanished or left. There was basically a single line talking about how one guy left, saying he wanted to go to the sea or something along those lines. It's actually kind of surprising how that one line, which seemed largely irrlevant for anything other then scene-setting got brought into relevance like this, but I guess this is PM, there is no such thing as un-important or irrelevant. XD
Rim's character was portrayed by Faust in the "play". Pretty much all her lines were complete sophist nonsense and easily thrown out of mind because it wasn't really relevant at the time. lol.
For the longest time, I thought Singularity was just a cool word based on the whole 'AI Singularity' concept to describe the various Wing supertechs, but the way Ensemble II keeps going on about Stars with a Capital S, how Dante's rezzing is presumably powered by one (since he keeps 'following his Star'), and how we know the Tearful Thing was initially that weird boy who presumably had some sort of Star interaction, I'm starting to wonder if the intended meaning actually is more literal: that a Singularity is just a collapsed Star. Would explain why they all have some terrible backroom secret or two to their function despite the fact that it doesn't really make sense for all advanced tech to be like that just because. Also, I like how Rim is literally just a bizarro Dante. Blue instead of red color scheme, hourglass in head instead of a clock, head filled with water instead of head being on fire.
Also, what’s the deal with Stars and the colour Blue? I mean, there’s the Blue Star line of abnormalities whose whole thing is, like, returning to somewhere you can become a star, where everyone is equal…
To add to that analogy, the Tearful Thing also is somewhat related to time, as its tears literally restore a body back to its 'original' state. There definitely is a theme to them.

I noticed that Rim’s head is a fishbowl with a hourglass in it, with his brain at the bottom half and a butterfly on the top half. I have no idea what that symbolizes but he might have time powers. Also, that fishbowl doesn’t really seem to have an opening and looks more like a transparent ball with blue liquid in it. Damn, where does Demian keep finding these weird friends and shit? First he says that he owned a star that K corp took from him, now he’s friends with Clockhead’s cousin, Fishbowlhead. Edit: my intrusive thoughts are telling me to drink the blue liquid in Rim’s head. Would it get me more high than enkephalin?
Hey, if the Blue Reverberation, essentialy a psychopath who took one too many music classes, was able to find a Skeleton devil, a furry, a lil bitc- flaming angel, Oswald the reddit mod and Shark ramsay, etc. I imagine the twink can find his own Chinese knock-off dante.
It's unclear exactly who among the League of the Nine was Rim, but I suspect it was the one that was played by Faust, as in the end of the play, when the league was fracturing, her character said something along the lines of departing into the sea (or something like that)
Kim Ki Rim is who Rim is based on. The clearest evidence is the butterfly in the middle of the sea. Kim Ki Rim got a poem called "The Sea and the Butterfly".
"I saw a child who resembled the ocean". I'm also reminded that the first version of "mirror" showed a butterfly, and brother told a tale that in a different world, a butterfly can fly so far, it can even make it across the ocean.
You know, the lack of a clear image of the captain laughing and the battle pass Ego made me really believe that Ishmael was the captain of that ship, and maybe the experience of seeing all her crew being killed by the whale was enough to make her go insane and forget this.
i always saw that dessign as symbolic of how shes starting to behave a lot like the capitain, not caring of anything other than to kill her own white whale even if it kills her and everyone around her, but pm has a tendency of mixing multiple sources or characters into a single element (like how demian is based of both max demian and the little prince, or how canto 4 is based not only on multiple literary sources but on what actually happened to the real life authors who made these works), so ish being based of ishmael *and* ahab would make a lot of sense, not to mention that dissociation is a very common trauma response and ishmael is showing very clear signs of ptsd, so this is a very interesting theory you have here

Because in a city where light pollution is rampant, people can’t see the actual stars. They forgot how the real stars look like and thus, no longer aware of the actual stars and their threats. If Demian’s weird statement is to be taken at face value, that means the singularities we have all came from some stars. Examined in the context of L corp, what did Carmen become? Both the singularity cogito used to extract abnos, egos AND Ms. Sun, and what is the sun, if not a star?
This gives context to that weird story of how the K corp singularity was created when a guy and a girl were hiking somewhere in the outskirts, looked at the night skies and the guy started speaking his wishes while looking at the stars. Next morning, the girl wakes up to see her friend become something else, which is implied to be the source of the smaller abnormalities that produce tears for K corp

The k-corp ampules would not work because the way they work is returning the body to a state it remembers, but the body isn’t changed, it’s overlapped. The body under the coating may be restored, but the film that makes them a mermaid would remain.
Personally I don't think K-Corp ampules, would reverse pallidifcation. As those ampules return the user to their 'original state' but U corp's tuning fork integrates things into its target as if it were part of them to begin with. To the ampule this would most likely be treated as their original state. Not to say there is no cure, I highly doubt that with all the singularities and technologies that there would be no solution to this infection. However, since when did wings give crap about anyone but themselves?
I wonder how Ishmael made it from floating on a coffin in the outskirts sea to safety with all the waves, mermaids and whales inhabiting the Great Lake.

You hunt a whale to harvest it, and selling mermaid perfume and whale ice cream is hardly worth the risk. Speaking of mermaids, they’re traditionally half human… half fish (or in this case, whale). The whales are fusing with people to make mermaids. They probably use whale bones to make the tuning forks or something. (Honestly, knowing PM, it’s probably something way more evil lol)
