I wouldn't say 'INTP's get bored really easily' is a particularly accurate statement. I get INCREDIBLY bored if I am set menial tasks or in an environment where I can't think about what I want to think about, but I can just sit somewhere for hours or go for long walks and be perfectly happy as long as I'm in an environment that allows me to get lost in thought.
James Doolan For me it's really just any new information. I work retail though and hearing people tell me the same things over and over is really draining.
I'm an INTP, and your voice, mannerism, and introspection have already sparked my interest. Even more so than your rather enjoyable appearance(Fe coming out). You're a feeler, but you actually think. That earns alot of respect from socially aware INTPs. I love it when feels consciously choose to think. Love, love, love it.
I'm an INFJ and I only have one INTP in my life and I've had a crush on him for eleven years now. Sigh. But I'm glad we're friends because he is the only person I can talk to about anything and everything.
Hilarious, Have you noticed that the INTP is about twice the views compared to your other "Deal with XXXX if you're an INFJ" videos? I guess INTPs are more curious to know how others view them (assuming the types check their own videos).
+TheInsomniaddict I think it's just because there is a very disproportionate number of INTPs who a) are very interested in MBTI and b) spend a lot of time online. We dominate MBTI forums, along with INFPs. Also, a lot of INTPs and INFJs are fascinated by each other. I know I personally clicked this link for that reason. INFJ-INTP dynamics are by far the most interesting to me.
optifog That's interesting to hear. I'm not involved in the MBTI community outside lurking via Google. It's one of the things that's recently caught my interest. Fascination with INFJs, eh? Might need to look into that as well. Thanks.
TheInsomniaddict You're welcome. Just query "INFJ INTP relationships" through a search engine and you'll find a number of articles about the mutual attraction. Also in the INTP or INFJ subsections of MBTI forums, you can find people who have had multiple INTP-INFJ relationships, explaining the initial appeal and venting about the problems they've had with them.
Of course INTPs are curious. We are curious about pretty much everything. So it does stand to reason that INTPs who are into MBTI, would watch these kinds of video's to a) get new/more info b) correct the maker if the info is wrong. It doesn't mean that we actually care how anyone else sees us or what they think of us. I actually only care what my close friends think of me, to some extent.
It doesn't mean intp aren't capable of achieving socially but on the other hand if they lean on "oh well I could achieve if I wanted to" and let that be their proof of their greatness that can border on narcissism and childish denial of the social world -intp
I think INTP's do secretly value how others perceive them, but because they suck at influencing how others perceive them because of their poor Fe, sometimes just take the easy route and pretend they really do not care in any way, while as their 4th function, it is the function types aremost insecure about. I used to tell myself I did not care, and neither do I act like someone who really cares that much ( I often can not help to say something true even when it works in my disadvantage), but STILL some part of me does care that apparently being true and honest is not valued in an Fe kind of way by all people.
You have to give us INTPs props. It isn't that we don't know who we are. It's that we are so sure of who we are and what our purpose is, that we don't give a fuck about meaningless things like social status and how we are perceived. Our purpose and mission is almost always a conquest of truth. We are here to pursue that. So why would we care about our image? If you want to think we are losers in our heads, that's good. That way, you won't get in the way of our goals. So yes, we see that someone may see us and think we are dorky nerdy losers. But we don't care. Why? We see that these people who wear brand name clothes, always image conscious and pursuing titles and badges are insecure. It disgusts us. We laugh when these are the people who judge us. These people are the real losers, desparate for approval from everyone around them. We truly, truly, truly don't give a fuck. Truly. The others who tell you they don't give a fuck do give a fuck. They want you to see their image as not giving a fuck. But the INTP (and sometimes the INTJ), in our essence, we just don't give a fuck. If only others could know how liberating it is to be one of us.
That's exactly how I see it as well...that's what I meant with, INTPs are not to be underestimated...but if someone would put a gun to your head and said be popular and social it is not that easy. It is really difficult for me although I have a mucher fe. But I am not an extrovert or an ENFJ or ESFP even if I tried to.
Fu Mi Yeah lol you were spot on technically my comment was a self defense mechanism, I got bothered by her saying INTPs aren't trying to be anyone. Technically, if I didn't care then I wouldn't have responded to her video to comment at all. But I hope you see that there really is some truth to the comment. But I do believe it's not good to judge people for caring about social status and how they are perceived, after all, we all are social beings, so there is nothing wrong with it. Also, curious--what is your MBTI type?
Fu Mi What I was trying to say in my second response is that social hierarchies are not okay. What I said in the first I don't even believe to be true. I don't think anyone can even be a loser, or that their really is some way to judge people. Like I said, the comment was a self defense mechanism.
Fu Mi Have to use this other account but I"ve bene on various MBTI online forums everyday for years and it becomes incredibly easy to discern INTP writing from INFP over time. INTPs aren't obsessed with being 'losers' and getting all indignant about how people perceive them and what their images are like... that's not in the domain of Ti. When you're around true INTPs enough and you notice their behavior you begin to recognize how they don't behave. INTPs in all living situations actually represent themselves in a remarkably similar manner: dom-Ti INTP writing is incredibly precise, grammatical and detached. INFP writing becomes obvious too.
INTP here, really enjoyed the video. It's interesting to see an INFJ's perspective on us. From my personal experience in relationships with INFJ's, communication seems to be the one thing we have most difficulty with.
Haha yes, sadly true! I met an INTP recently and we were very interesting for each other, but our conversations were always a bit frustrating, as if having debates because we couldn't agree on most things.
Great video, you put the finger on a lot of areas that I've identified in my relations to INFJs, in fact I have several INFJ friends and we connect in a great way. The social part is what mainly differs for us, I feel as they are more aware of what is okay to say/do. I value their imagination and their grasp of metaphors. (I am an INTP)
+Justin Case i just love the full INFJ shut-down [followed by righteous indignation] my bad INTP self can cause when i say something irreverent or morally grey off the cuff. INFJs are funny
Because we assume that people are mostly wrong unless they have water tight reasoning to back up their point, and most people fail to back up their ideas to the standards of an INTP. If we are proven wrong by evidence or reason, we usually change our minds pretty quickly. We don't place emotional value on most ideas, so it's easy to let them go if they aren't good.
@@Midnight_Rider96 As an INTP I think there's always wiggle room. I can remember a few times where I could not deny the argument given to me by a friend but I would simply say "I cant argue against you, I just cannot see why I would agree." It acknowledges the limitation in my knowledge without acquiescing to the counter point. INTP includes Si as tertiary in our stack. We do have a sense of self, a sense that I believe may be missing from other personality types. I see who I am as being a continuation of who I was. The ideas and viewpoints I once held hold some sway as I must admit they once held meaning even if they do not now. Growth requires remembrance, not termination. I must admit my faults as I must admit that sometimes there are "truths" held by others which may be incompatible with my self. Note that this view comes from someone who has challenged their views many a time and found them wanting. I'm not using this as an excuse to hold contradictory or irrational views. Simply, instead, to note that even the most "rational" views may not seem correct even if I cannot deny them. The ability to cope with ambiguity is something that comes with age to an INTP. And it is not a lesson that comes lightly.
This is probably going to come across in an insulting way but ill leave it like so because its an INTP thing and i can do that her. You are much more interesting at 1.5x speed. (as is everyone else talking about MBTI)
Gorboduc I assume its because of the people that make the videos usually being the types that talk slower and use heavy intellect or whatever that makes them have to use their brains to an extend that doesn't allow fast talking.
I love how blunt you are. I'm an INTP and I'd honestly take your advice...put my spin on it but ultimately I feel an open minded infj is what I look for in everybody.
I think INTP seeks a Ti companion in any person. So any type with Ti is potentially great with us. In case of INFJ, there are some that more towards Fe, some who kinda disappointed in Fe and going for Ti growth. Still I'd prefer Fe over Te, because "shut up", or "you might hurt his/her feelings" are two different ways to ask us to tune down a bit, first one is actually would provoke us to speak more.
I really wonder if there are actually so few INFJ's .I meet sooo many of them that i sometimes wonder if it's just me or that the statistics are off...I meet about as many INFJ's as ENFP's, which is the most common intuitive type...
As an INTP I intuitively know people's boundaries my Fe is very strong so I would know when to stop than the typical INTP which stay in Ti and Ne although I love my Ne I'm never bored it's well developed as my Ti is too .
Not sure we get 'bored' all that easy. Or well at least for me, It's just that I have specific interests that I don't mind talking about / working for extended amounts of time. I do however have trouble staying focused if its something I have no interest in though, which can make me seem aloof or disrespectful. But that's in fact the last thing I'd want someone to think, so if that happens it's because I'm drained and can't force myself to invest the energy into things of non-interest for myself anymore. Also just to note, if an INTP seems uninterested (lacking Fe or something) don't be to quick to think they aren't actually interested. We could just be up in our heads really taking in what you're saying at times too. PS: Pizza fo lyfe
Mac Hammac Hi Mac, what I mainly meant was, INTPs need mental stimulation (from what I have experienced and read), so they get rather bored with people who they can't share these activities with. My boss is an INTP and he has become a great friend to me and it is always the biggest joy when we can tackle a task together, analyse and solve it.
INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem Oh oh okay I see, my apologies for misunderstanding! I completely agree, least for me personally I can be that way as well. Thanks for the reply by the way. Liked this video ! My sister is INFJ as well, even thought I was INFJ/INFP for a while (I'm a visual artist so stereotypes are hard to ignore) lol INTP's can have some crazy Fe bursts at times when serious emotional things come up. Can take a while to wind down from that too. Least for me personally. You're absolutely right though, I do get extremely bored around people I can't share activities and intriguing convos with. Can't speak for all INTP but for myself Fe can be intimidating for me to use even though I really want to at times. Can't control it well at all.
MisterHardTruth ha! I do the same thing sometimes when I inadvertently make someone angry, I will start to actively try to make them more upset just to see the results......😏 its a strange compulsion of mine.
Crystalp1456 and MisterHardTruth, what a great subject. This ESTP tends to do the same, especially if someone violates my values or principles. Must be our Ti to find out how the other reacts to the emotional buttons we hit. It can give me satisfaction to see the agressor exploding from anger when I manage to find the right emotional trigger. Never attack an ESTP on his values! :)
I really like INTP's also. I wish I could find more of them! They are GREAT listeners! You look beautiful, and your eyes are like lasers so stunning! (that's my FE coming out.!) Thanks for the videos.
+Zack Page According to Dario Nardi, INTP's are the worst listeners and INFP's are maybe the best. In my experience, both types are great and TERRIBLE listeners depending on the circumstance. There's more to listening than just.. listening. The information needs to be more than just listened to, but then comprehended... assimilated. I find that INFP's often have great problems with "phase 2" of listening, especially on rather technical matters. However, when it comes to less cerebral sorts of discussion maybe the INFP generally listens and assimilates information better, especially in matters than involve a lot of sympathy and empathy. My INFP gf sucks though so I'm biased and think they are useless listeners. =P
+TheOriginalGankstar INFPs find it hard to think outside of themselves, and hate the problem-solving loop that INTPs run all thoughts through. INTP will listen, understand, and engage you back ith feedback relevant to the discussion; they bask in showing their full grasp of what you're saying, and if they dont they will pursue the meaning of what youre trying to tell them. i wouldnt go to them for sympathy, but i would go to them for something of importance
My sister is an intp and I am an infj. I understand that she sometimes gets lost in thought and she doesn't intentionally hurt me when she forgets about me, but it's hard not to feel wounded, when she kind of flits around in a dream world (I can relate) and doesn't talk to me for months on end. When we actually get together it feels like we just bounce off each other, like we are one mind. The conversations are amazing and everything except feeling neglected is great, I'm also scared to bring it up in case I put pressure on her and she withdraws from me more.
Hi Jasna...thanks for your input...in the end it's just a growth journey. us learning what we want and what we are not willing to sacrifice in order to get it...in most times when we set the boundaries at the places we need them, our closest ones honer our boundaries and following our rules....remember you are not putting the other person in a bad situation when you show what you can live with and what you can't...the other person still has the free choice to decide how they are going to react to that.
Thank you. I am going to work up the courage to have a chat with her about it without sounding accusing, but just letting her know that I'd like to see her more.
About the Si in INTP - I'm INTP and I eat super healthy and exercise a lot. That's something i always did and will probably keep that up for the rest of my life. (And it's not like my parents were really about healthy food, just came naturally out of me) Tho i do know a few INTPs and not everyone is like this.
Daughters mother was INFP. I’m an INFJ. Yeah, she was very turbulent minded, emotionally driven, and would look for social approval. She was just immature and we grew light years apart. But I learned something from it which is most important
Let me add, it was even difficult to reason with such an emotional up and down roller coaster of an individual, at the time I couldn’t manage to think though that to give a different light. Wrong method, like you mentioned in the video.
Its interesting the hear you speak on the third function being the boundary pusher. I think "J" types tend to get judgy on what and how INTPs pursue things which as an INTP would automatically have me place that person in the "do not interact with again" category, as I would see it as less understanding and more invasive, which I think INFJs balance between for INTPs (unless in really close relationships). I generally think INFJs are pretty great but there are often moments where I have to let them know, they are free to feel and think what they do about my life or how I interact with the world, but that I don't have to change just because they "deem" something to change based on their standards, like you said all you can do is just tell us and leave it at that with no expectations. Because it doesn't make me "feel good' to have someone try to erect boundaries on me like that.
Teaking Tiles Yeah, guys do it too. We just want respect and admiration rather than adoration. On another note, we have gotten where we are today by our social tendencies.
"Deal with" has a negative connotation. Why not just say 'understand'. As an INTP there are plenty of types I could rail against but I know that all types and functions have their good/bad sides and at the end of the day there isn't even good or bad it's just variation
you're right, I was not in the best state when I was creating the titles...would name them differently now...the intent was positive though, I hope it gets across
I used to think I was an INFJ because I'm always friendly and careful to consider how others are feeling. I'm so good at this its difficult to see myself as an INTP. The descriptions say "has difficulties with emotions" or "socially awkard" which is manifestly not me. The problem is I'm not too concerned with morals; its the truth of matter that has always been more interesting. And this seems to be a staple of the INTP. Are there any other INTP's here that have had trouble identifying their type?
It's actually very common for male INFJs to find themselves relying upon Introverted Thinking, falling out of preference with Extroverted Feeling, and coming off as and appearing to be an INTP. Michael Pierce is a great example of an INFJ that many would assume to be an INTP. Another great example is Jung himself, an INFJ who claims to not have a strong feeling side at all. With the mutual suppression of sensation in both types, it comes down to understanding, in great detail, Ni/Se and Ne/Si. I am an INTP that has always been fully confident that I'm an INTP because it's very clear to me how I extrovert intuition and introvert sensation
HitomiAyumu I also had problems typing myself, because i was convinced, that i am a Ni-dom, but actually it was the interaction of Ti and Ne, where i created ideas with Ne and evaluated them before elaborating. In short: Ti+ Ne looked to me like Ni and according to that, i went through all the NJ types.
HitomiAyumu not knowing that your lips are turning blue and that you're teeth are chattering but are aware of the color of the trees, the chatter of others, and the light upon the river and all the thoughts this stimulus brings you.
I needed this, thank you! It's hard to understand my best friend/cousin most of the times because I care too much and she does not care at all to which leads to disagreements. INTP's are fun to be with, except when for the fact that they get bored too easily.
Now thank fuck for clarifying that I'm an INTP and there is this attraction between Internal Answerers and Internal Rotaters . If you want us then you gotta experiment, learn and help us entirely I'm going to give INFJ second thought thank you so much. INTP are capable of raw diversity. It's extremely scary for us but we are not afraid blending.
Jen nifer lul. I know you are a person who likes to self intensify that's what all INFJ's or what I call Mind Intensifiers do in some way or another as a passion of theirs and I think the reason for all that would possibly be because of the flicking motion in your thinking perhaps? As commical as it was and it was a 2 part response the first part being obviously the joke but the 2nd being a more serious kinda metaphysical question and sorry I always have this notion in my head that everyone knows how to use external accuracy brain functions and internal accuracy brain functions too in the past and in the future diversifying levels and metaphysics, etc fun stuff. anyways do you at all in your mind find yourself flicking information in anyway or like rotating it kinda like mechanical energy in a cogwheel which is a metaphysical conclusion ironnically? Jen space nifer ;P
Ahhh yeah I understood. lol I just thought the combination of those 2 sentences sounded a bit weird and extremely random. It confused me. Yes, I do find myself flicking information. Though, I can't relate to the cogwheel.. I've never actually viewed it that way, interesting. I view it more as a very old video projector (projecting images on a screen etc.) lol Rosa aka Dominic
The longer I watched this, the more watched I found you. Not to say you were bad at the start by any means. You're the type of pretty that actually intimidates.. Lol anyway, I'm an INTP and I must thank you for this. We are misunderstood by many. My favorite quote of all time is "knowledge is power" I try to explain every detail about something when expanding something to get that person 100% in my head on a topic. You seem to have helped me in doing so. I'm going to be showing some of my friends this. Especially my best friend atm that shares your personality type!
im an intp but why did I stopped the video and focused on reading the comments instead. she looked smart so I listened to her for like 1 min. then I was distracted by her eye makeup. then i thought... meh this is going nowhere.. or maybe i just don't give a faq...
+thuggie duckie that's probably it...but you are right, I have been thinking of toning down my eyemake-up for those videos..I am not doing a 'Keeping up with the Kardashians'...reality show after all
INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem You have pretty eyes. The makeup style kind of make them negatively pretty... i have no idea how the Kardashian thing came up. You are too unique to be in the zone. -Out-
+thuggie duckie it was just a joke, nothing to be taken too seriously ;) just because they use a lot of eye make-up, that's all...and thanks for the compliment for my eyes :)
+INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem I'm an INFJ with a INTP mate, I really enjoyed the video. I thought it would be over soon so I paused half way through, I was happy it was only half way through. loved everything but the nails, was too jolting and opposting a color for your stunning natural beauty. I know nails sometimes dont match for women, cant do them for every outfit I suppose, the message was most important. My mate is DEF a risk taker, scary on some of the things they seek, which are totally not good. They are a mix of not caring what others think, and caring what others think, mostly not. But when they get bored, they do turn more open to suggestion from dangerous "friends" mean, and cranky. Im mean, but I dont tolerate the slightest game playing or absorption from another for long. So run less risk of getting into much trouble, or situations which are not efficient to living a healthy fun lifestyle, you can't have fun, if you dont have health. And its not healthy to seek fun, novely, constantly, you begin to treat people like a TV channel - you want to flip. I do like there humor and intelligence, they run around far less than the other types.
You actually made a vid like this for every possible type/ optimal communications? Damn, you Ni users are scarily thorough/ always do things propely O.O Changing the goal to stick to the methods tho... It seems counterintuitive, almost "wrong" (note the brackets), I kinda can't relate to it. Like, with an INTJ I can see their method is different than mine (spot patterns, look at data to work out details vs. my look at data, try to put it all together to spot pattern) but still kinda see how it produces results. (You just broadened my horizon so thanks) I suppose it's more useful in social reformer contexts than sciency ones, I guess "methods" in your case would be ethically charged things and you understandeably can't change those without changing what the whole enterprise is about in the way that a peaceful protest that isn't peaceful no longer makes it a peaceful protest/ defeats the point of it. As in INTP myself it's kinda interesting to see this from a whole different/ outside perspective from a perspective that's kinda far away from my own but I do think this general track of "Don't assume we want the same things as you and just can't get them" (though really that would apply to all types) and "Just try explaining to us what your situation is and what you don't like". I don't think our Si makes us all that traditional or health-inclined (often a problem with the functions is that you can only find descriptions of what they're like for high-end users) Most INTPs are not attached to tradition in any way/ too independent for that (I think we're even the type least likely to be religious which is a tradition-ish thing), it kinda takes a different form of liking a more vague sense of familiarity/nostalgia especially when stressed. It's how many IXTPs memorize/have extenside knowledge of certain book/Tv shows/ general geek stuff and why we often like to rewatch movies we've already seen - It used to baffle me that you can have a favorite show you're very involved in but not have watched it in a long time, then I found out it's an Si thing. It can also present as attachment to places and things (computer, car, favorite pen...) which can sometimes seem surprising because we rationally know we can just replace the damn pen. Also I would not advise making very sure not to come off as babysitterish because even when you're absolutely correct, you might be confronted with a token resistance (as many NTs want to be self-sufficient and resent intrusion) unfortunately they might misjudge/ fail to notice that you might take this personally especially if they don't know you very well yet/ that you're coming from a place of wanting to make everything better for everyone. That last bit about joining in when someone's having an enthusiastic geekout (as long as you genuinely resonate with it) is definitely something that could make someone quickly find a way into my heart, I mean everyone (not just INTPs) wants to talk to people who share their passions/ shared passions are one of the most common ways that friendships form. But even the two moments in my life so far where I realized that I seriously loved someone romantically have both involved something like this.
Ti and Fe means these two types can help each other. Fe is does have more social value if you believe in social norms. Ti has more potential to radically change social norms because it has more ability to break norms in search of truth and novelty regardless of consequence
I have an INTP close friend,& i've been learning to accept her values and logic. It's a little hard, though, because after so much effort that i've put in in our friendship, she still prefers the kind of friend that's not trying to help her(or solving her problems) in any way.Maybe she doesn't like how much i care about her when honestly, she can't be bothered.😌
AriaAriel as an intp, I can tell you,at least from my perspective, that I can't stand being told what to do. I recognize when someone is trying to help me out that they mean well, but I still can't help but take it as a criticism. since I think things through for a very long time before I act on something, once I reach a decision, it becomes unmistakably right, and any input from outside parties feels like an intrusion on the boundaries I place, and is frankly not necessary and quite irritating( but I've come to understand that usually the other person is only trying to be helpful ). its still annoying though nonetheless......
That was an excellent commentary on the INFJ and "E"NTP relationship. The person you speak of in the video sounds like they have the NTP. But an INTP does not impose our worldview. The ENTP does, we could care less if you see our view. At 10:11 "they got mean" wouldn't happen with most INTPs. We would only say something about your abilities if you ask. At 10:58, Let us be? No, we NEED to hear why you disagree with us so we can analyze how we calculated incorrectly. INTP...Out! u ask.
I’m an INTP and I have a lot of ambition. I remember having a friend once and through time we clicked so we started planning with our ideas but eventually he kind of stopped wanting to pursue these goals. I haven’t spoken to him much ever since being that we now have nothing in common or have anything to talk about except small talk which I avoid.
Change your goal because a method doesn t work? To me that is lack of creativity. Change your goals because a method doesn t work could also be flexibility. I only do that of I run out of methods. Intp is finding new possibilties.
I have a question about INTPs... I think INFJs and INTPs have an ability to see "what really matters" and tend to want to not do what is popular just because it's popular. We act out of deeper meanings which I like about the two types. But why do INTPs seem to "hate" on other people's opinions? Like read the comments below mine.. the thread of INTPs comments off the last comment. They almost are seeking for people to disagree with them so they can sort of feel superior like "I don't give an F*" and you do so you're the one who has to suffer haha. Why do they almost find joy out of the suffering of others? I know they don't truly want others to suffer but when it's with someone who doesn't meet them eye to eye they get pretty mean.
Those are fair criticisms. I have to fight that tendency a lot. It's not really about someone else suffering, it's simply that we take emotion out of any debate. We work on facts only, and we are actually very happy if someone proves us wrong and we can add to our list of truths uncovered. We tend to find emotional responses annoying and unnecessary. One thing that has modified my behaviour somewhat is finding the truth in the bible, and being more humble.
goals? The only time I here that word is when my wife (infj) mentions it, which is often, or more than frequent, possibly obsessively. hahaha She wont admit it, but she trusts me, that when the goals she sets for herself fall through, I'll be there to validate her experience and comfort her. I call this the butterfly complex. It's common among nfs in general and nts are used to it.
INFJs benefit INTPs in a Socionics asymmetrical beneficiary relationship. Where the INFJ's Fe parents the INTP's inferior Fe. I'm an INTP that benefits from alot of INFJ life coaches such as Thais Gibson, Ross Rosenberg, and numerous others. INTPs and ENFJs form a Socionics pedagogue relationship where they learn from each other equally. But INFJs benefit INTPs without it being reciprocal. (ISFPs benefit INFJs.)
Exactly! Both! In MBTI INTP are considered peceivers but their first function is a judging function and so intps are less easy going as entps for example 😉
Curious, would not using perspectives mean that you look at many angles in achieving a goal, than say changing the goal itself. Unless the perspectives give you the impression that the original goal is not achievable. Personally, I was a why child, had to pull everything apart to see how it worked and then put it back together. To get into the thoughts of other people, a lot of the time the work people do shows how focused they are in their work. Again with perspectives you can adjust the method used as you gain more knowledge and experience around the particular problem that must be solved to achieve the goal. Getting caught up in the head space of working through things mentally to find the optimal pattern for the solution. Or realising that there are holes in your knowledge that need to be filled so going out to learn and find this knowledge. And doing this without pissing people off. Anyway my two cents around those thoughts. Is not the internet a god send for INFJs.
INFJs are great! My best friend is one. I'd like to know more about the goal / method idea. It feels very familiar. I relate to the goal-oriented side (used to be like a dog with a bone at times, thankfully now more mature) are you able to give any more info on how "method" work for INFJs? oh, im an intp.
+INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem Have you made that video? (Came in from Google, haven't viewed your other videos yet) I'm having a hard time of understanding why you would change a goal when it can be achieved by changing methodology. Isn't that the idea behind going after what you want? And yep, I'm INTP. Also, going forward in your video to around 13:35 you talk about the tertiary function of INFJs leading to a condition where INFJ thoughts can change very erratically, being unable to determine where you stand, etc. But doesn't that contradict the idea of having a strict or set methodology that is followed? I guess my question is: how does a variable thought process or changing belief structure affect the INFJ preference for methodology over goals? Lemme know if that's not clear, and I'll see if I can better phrase my point.
10:26 can you give examples? I sort of recognize this reaction in others when I play games, but I don't see mysef as mean. So whats going on, i don't understand?
+erikal85 hey erikal85, I ment mean as in:'competitive' and I kick your ass kind of way :) without recognizing that a thin line has been crossed where it is not fun anymore. In this case specifically it was playing with all guys and they are all better than me at table soccer, so in this situation it is a lot more excepted for me to make jokes because the reality is: I am not better than them.
+erikal85 INTP here, i get /ugly/ competitive. i abstain from competition because of it.... i htink it has to do with my overinflated ego and underfilled life experience vault
thats true; I used to get really competitive. I still am but I know trash talk kinda hurt so I stopped doing that, I am really good at games and sometimes I cool it down to let the others have fun. it only took two major fights to realize that.
I think infjs are too stubborn for intps. Introverted types in general tend to be a bit stubborn, so combining them will require effort to actively adapt for either one. An enfj suits the intp far better because they're more adaptable towards the Ti logic that rules the intp. Enfjs love calm logic and intps usually like the warmth of the enfj. The infj lacks that warmth in comparison and will ride too much with their Ni , a function which intps generally not value.
ehhh not true. Both are pretty stubborn to each other and for a good reason. Enfjs are better for intps tho and warmer but not cuz they're more adaptable or less stubborn lol. Enxjs are the most forceful and "my way or the high way" of all types
The only time you're allowed to be stupid with an INTP ... Is if you've previously proven that its just an act and you are actually capable of being competent.
Sometimes I'll push people into debates just to dissect their way of thinking, even if they get frustrated. With NFJ's though, it's like poking a rattlesnake.
+INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem awww you're welcome. Waiting for more interesting videos like this. I love to hear you talk about such interesting topics,it's very motivational and fun at the same time. I really enjoy watching your videos Wenzes💗😊🌈
+Marisa Lauren I am originally from Bulgaria but I live in Germany :) yes! Thanks for the compliment, I spent some time in the states so that's why I have a hang to American English.
Dated one of them for a while.I felt like he didn't care any of my feelings. Turned out to be true. Probably never gonna date an INTP again. Such aromatics...ugh
Sophie White some of them can come off as very difficult and aromantic types, but it sounds like you got with an unhealthy one. But get with a healthy one that actually cares about you, and you’ll know it. They’re not the most romantic types around but if they care about you they show it by making an effort to help out in any way, to do something meaningful for you. Healthy INTPs want to make the world a better place, be it for the sake of the world or for the ones they deeply care about.
I'm an INTP. I relate a lot to INFJs and strongly care about their feelings. Having dated an ESFJ for 10 years makes it easier to understand your emotional life, though. The guy you dated was probably just immature and/or inexperienced with empath type women.
@@soph6787 10 years with an ESFJ was difficult. But weeks of dating an INFJ (or is she ISFJ now?) turns our far more difficult. It's the most confusing dating experience I've ever had. And I'm thinking I might have to let her go. Dating is supposed to make a person happy, but most of the time she just leaves me scared, confused and worried. The closer we get one time, the more she pushes me away the next... only to pull me closer again... and then push me back again. She drives me crazy... and not in a good way! My ESFJ seems so easy in comparison...
I know they are considered perceivers in MBTI BUT....the first function is a judging function (INTP) and you will see that everyone who has a judging function first is more rigid than a dominant perceiver. Just compare INTP with ENTP...it's a perspective thought through socionics
+oxAkatsubakixo my mother's an infj, myself an intp. sometimes ill say things off-the-cuff that totally disgusts her and i dont even see it coming XD im not heartless, i just dont take anything personally, yknow?
You're so right. a couple of days ago my INTP boyfriend and had a fight. He couldn't see things as I did. I ended up being mean to him cause it felt like a sort of betrayal . Any idea on how I should make it up to him?
+Cassandra Ineza As an INTP I'll say, for me, that's right. Of course, sincerity is necessary, since we can often see through social niceity and conventions and know when someone is doing it because 'that's what you're supposed to do'. But, otherwise, yeah, that usually works for me. I can be so shocked at anyone being willing to do so, and I don't hold grudges (I mull over ideas, not emotions). So, yeah, it could work.
Oh thank you for explaining that. I see that is why Ti in first position can create such good or horrible situations in groups - further undermining the Fe.
James Doolan I get bored talking to other people pretty easily sometimes. I don't think I've ever been bored being alone lol.
For me, it usually depends if the other person has an IQ greater than 120 or not lol.
James Doolan For me it's really just any new information. I work retail though and hearing people tell me the same things over and over is really draining.
lmao
I'm an INTP, and your voice, mannerism, and introspection have already sparked my interest. Even more so than your rather enjoyable appearance(Fe coming out). You're a feeler, but you actually think. That earns alot of respect from socially aware INTPs. I love it when feels consciously choose to think. Love, love, love it.
I'm an INFJ and I only have one INTP in my life and I've had a crush on him for eleven years now. Sigh. But I'm glad we're friends because he is the only person I can talk to about anything and everything.
Happy you have such a good INTP friend, very valuable 😊
Haha, I'm INTP and I have a crush on a INFJ ..for 12 years x). She is je brightest person of the world.
what a sad story for some INFJs and INTPs. 11 year crush!
TheInsomniaddict
we're just obsessed with MBTI
lol
Never in any of these videos have i related more with anything than "INTP's get bored really easily"
hahahaha...touché
:)
I'm an INFJ and I like INTPS they are the one personality that I get along with
danielle johnson INFJs can get along with virtually anyone in a 1 on 1 scenario. Especially other intuitives.
It doesn't mean intp aren't capable of achieving socially but on the other hand if they lean on "oh well I could achieve if I wanted to" and let that be their proof of their greatness that can border on narcissism and childish denial of the social world -intp
To true..
Extremely accurate
I’d say this is their greatest downfall, not just with social things. Sometimes conceptualizing isn’t enough
You're an infp...
So true. INFJs get offended easily no matter how much you sugar coat the conversation. Annoying.
+MizzzzMonica Your using HFCS that's why, use natural sugar lol.
+MizzzzMonica Your using HFCS that's why, use natural sugar lol.
so true! successful communication is almost impossible between those 2 types
Haha yes, sadly true! I met an INTP recently and we were very interesting for each other, but our conversations were always a bit frustrating, as if having debates because we couldn't agree on most things.
INTP here, married to an INFJ. Just wanted to chime in. Me and the wife both busted out laughing at 9:32
Great video, you put the finger on a lot of areas that I've identified in my relations to INFJs, in fact I have several INFJ friends and we connect in a great way.
Ahh! INTPs can be so stubborn when you're trying to prove a point!
No we're not.
@@Midnight_Rider96 Exactly, well said
Usually cause your point is wrong.
(as is everyone else talking about MBTI)
the 1.5 thing works pretty well.
Yes! Why do so many MBTI videos seem like the Bob & Ray Slow Talker sketch? (See: ktYwuw9Mnjo)
Gorboduc I assume its because of the people that make the videos usually being the types that talk slower and use heavy intellect or whatever that makes them have to use their brains to an extend that doesn't allow fast talking.
Oh thanks, I didn’t know we could speed up the videos 😂
I love how blunt you are. I'm an INTP and I'd honestly take your advice...put my spin on it but ultimately I feel an open minded infj is what I look for in everybody.
Lace Mitchell I'm an INFJ, and I know like 5 other INFJs that I still hang out with, but I've also met a pretty hefty number of them.
I love you INFJ charmers, why there are so few of you !?
Oh yeah, I don't know where the line is until I cross it.
I actively look to cross it, just to see where it is. Hahaha
MisterHardTruth ha! I do the same thing sometimes when I inadvertently make someone angry, I will start to actively try to make them more upset just to see the results......😏 its a strange compulsion of mine.
Crystalp1456 it's fun to experiment! Haha
Zack Page Thank you! :))))
+Zack Page
According to Dario Nardi, INTP's are the worst listeners and INFP's are maybe the best.
Stick to videos about INTP...those videos attract INTPs like moths.
About the Si in INTP -
I'm INTP and I eat super healthy and exercise a lot. That's something i always did and will probably keep that up for the rest of my life. (And it's not like my parents were really about healthy food, just came naturally out of me)
Tho i do know a few INTPs and not everyone is like this.
Thanks for your video! :)
👍...yeah, exactly
I am INTP and also exactly like that as well. Lot's of people make to my do not interact column I might add.
I once was a 20 year old intp-now I'm 40-two vastly different people
a woman concerned about her social status. Wow what a huge surprise.
Teaking Tiles Yeah, guys do it too. We just want respect and admiration rather than adoration.
On another note, we have gotten where we are today by our social tendencies.
I'm an INFJ and I love my INFP so much
"Deal with" has a negative connotation.
I am an INTP that has always been fully confident that I'm an INTP because it's very clear to me how I extrovert intuition and introvert sensation
no Oh really? What does Ni/Se look like?
HitomiAyumu
I also had problems typing myself, because i was convinced, that i am a Ni-dom, but actually it was the interaction of Ti and Ne, where i created ideas with Ne and evaluated them before elaborating.
In short: Ti+ Ne looked to me like Ni and according to that, i went through all the NJ types.
HitomiAyumu not knowing that your lips are turning blue and that you're teeth are chattering but are aware of the color of the trees, the chatter of others, and the light upon the river and all the thoughts this stimulus brings you.
and not paying full attention to the question ... Ne/Si.... soooo the opposite would be Ni/Se... 😋
I needed this, thank you! It's hard to understand my best friend/cousin most of the times because I care too much and she does not care at all to which leads to disagreements. INTP's are fun to be with, except when for the fact that they get bored too easily.
Now thank fuck for clarifying that I'm an INTP and there is this attraction between
Internal Answerers and Internal Rotaters .
If you want us then you gotta experiment, learn and help us entirely
I'm going to give INFJ second thought thank you so much.
INTP are capable of raw diversity.
It's extremely scary for us but we are not afraid blending.
I feel like all of the INTPs I've met love to say "fuck" a lot
Jen nifer : >
I'm a sensationalist it rings
many notes , I suppose
you like things that flick ?
Rosa hahahaha what? you INTPs can confuse me so quickly.
Jen nifer lul. I know you are a person
who likes to self intensify that's what all INFJ's or what I call Mind Intensifiers do
in some way or another as a passion of theirs
and I think the reason for all that
would possibly be because of the flicking
motion in your thinking perhaps?
As commical as it was and it was a 2 part response the first part being obviously the joke but the 2nd being a more serious kinda metaphysical question and sorry I always have this notion in my head that everyone knows how to use external accuracy brain functions and internal accuracy brain functions too in the past and in the future diversifying levels and metaphysics, etc
fun stuff.
anyways do you at all in your mind
find yourself flicking information in anyway
or like rotating it kinda like mechanical energy in a cogwheel which is a metaphysical conclusion ironnically?
Jen space nifer ;P
Ahhh yeah I understood. lol I just thought the combination of those 2 sentences sounded a bit weird and extremely random. It confused me.
Yes, I do find myself flicking information. Though, I can't relate to the cogwheel.. I've never actually viewed it that way, interesting. I view it more as a very old video projector (projecting images on a screen etc.)
lol Rosa aka Dominic
INTPs: well yes but actually no
The longer I watched this, the more watched I found you.
I'm an INTP. I love INFJs. They're the only women, besides INTPs, that I can relate to...
What about INFJs emotional needs.. are you able to cope/deal with that?
You actually made a vid like this for every possible type/ optimal communications?
Damn, you Ni users are scarily thorough/ always do things propely O.O
Changing the goal to stick to the methods tho...
(You just broadened my horizon so thanks)
I suppose it's more useful in social reformer contexts than sciency ones, I guess "methods" in your case would be ethically charged things and you understandeably can't change those without changing what the whole enterprise is about in the way that a peaceful protest that isn't peaceful no longer makes it a peaceful protest/ defeats the point of it.
I don't think our Si makes us all that traditional or health-inclined (often a problem with the functions is that you can only find descriptions of what they're like for high-end users)
Most INTPs are not attached to tradition in any way/ too independent for that (I think we're even the type least likely to be religious which is a tradition-ish thing), it kinda takes a different form of liking a more vague sense of familiarity/nostalgia especially when stressed.
Thank you!! Your videos are helping me a lot to know myself better.. wish I could meet you in person some day...
INTPs cast a lot of pearls before swine...other types are basically 'swine' who do not understand INTPs.
It's common among nfs in general and nts are used to it.
actually the compatibility is 70% 😭
INFJs benefit INTPs in a Socionics asymmetrical beneficiary relationship.
What boundary was crossed when the INTP played table football? Who were the participants in the game (how many and what MBTI type?).
What do you mean by INTP are judgers? Because there first function is a judging function? Usually this term is used for XXXJ types, isn't it?
Exactly! Both! In MBTI INTP are considered peceivers but their first function is a judging function and so intps are less easy going as entps for example 😉
@@Wenzes Thx
I'm an intp but i can relate to infj a lot, is anyone else like this?
As an INTP, INFJ women are the only women I relate to besides INTP women.
+ramblyk1 thanks :) I will get into it in one of the next videos :)
+INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem Have you made that video? (Came in from Google, haven't viewed your other videos yet)
I'm having a hard time of understanding why you would change a goal when it can be achieved by changing methodology.
Ok, I get it, I'll try to observe myself and see if I do the same :) Thanks for responding!
I have made similar observations lately...👍 couldn't really make it work with a longer term friendshp with an INTP due to this
oh too bad! cool to hear you have the same thing about it though..(its my own idea)
👌
ehhh not true. Both are pretty stubborn to each other and for a good reason. Enfjs are better for intps tho and warmer but not cuz they're more adaptable or less stubborn lol. Enxjs are the most forceful and "my way or the high way" of all types
Why not call this "Understanding the INTP" instead.... or maybe
"Creating Harmony with your INTP"
If I would create a video now on this topic I definitely would choose one of those titles :)
@wenzes where are you from? Your accent is kind of like...czech filtered through hip-hop?
I am from Bulgaria, living in Germany and have spend some time In Tennessee 🤪
@@Wenzes Thanks for the reply, it's a great accent!
The only time you're allowed to be stupid with an INTP ... Is if you've previously proven that its just an act and you are actually capable of being competent.
I am very thankful to INFJ to understand what i thought
👍😀
nice thing about INFJ they have the tendency to skip the "friend" zone by nature
Damn this was so spot on!
😉 glad you liked it 😊
I am an intp and my brother is an infj,
And this is so interesting
👍😉
My brother is an INTP and our relationship is not healthy at all...
+Tyler.Minneapolis lol #DEAD
don't give up on the relationship with your brother, with time INTPs become more open minded and are less critical, same goes for most people
Sometimes I'll push people into debates just to dissect their way of thinking, even if they get frustrated. With NFJ's though, it's like poking a rattlesnake.
More INTP's here than INFJ''s, hahahah.
Mostly because INTP see flaws in people's beliefs and feel compelled to point them out and then tell them how to fix it. It's a curse we bear. lol
@@valarieknight7990
I'm here on an information spunge
Thanks for this video. And I agree with you. INTPs really cross lines sometimes and it's annoying as hell....
thank you for your feedback!
+INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem awww you're welcome. Waiting for more interesting videos like this. I love to hear you talk about such interesting topics,it's very motivational and fun at the same time. I really enjoy watching your videos Wenzes💗😊🌈
Suzie Dee As an INTP ,for me the line starts where you draw it. I don't really believe in having a line for myself concerning talking about things.
make a video on HOW TO influence a person to tell you their personality type - so we can watch your HOW TO DEAL WITH videos ;)
Did I hear "falsch"?! Are you German??? I had no idea. You have no German accent!
+Marisa Lauren I am originally from Bulgaria but I live in Germany :) yes! Thanks for the compliment, I spent some time in the states so that's why I have a hang to American English.
Are you f*ing kidding me??? (Sorry. Language...) I scrolled all the way down here to see whether I hallucinated that.... Haha. Nice. Ertappt! :P
@@vstk2 wow perfect especially the last sentence
@@OutOfTheBoxThinker oh definitely immature... ESFJ for 10 years? I can't imagine myself with a sensor😅 was it difficult for you?
@@soph6787 10 years with an ESFJ was difficult. But weeks of dating an INFJ (or is she ISFJ now?) turns our far more difficult. It's the most confusing dating experience I've ever had. And I'm thinking I might have to let her go. Dating is supposed to make a person happy, but most of the time she just leaves me scared, confused and worried. The closer we get one time, the more she pushes me away the next... only to pull me closer again... and then push me back again. She drives me crazy... and not in a good way! My ESFJ seems so easy in comparison...
Dude. They literally aren’t judges. Why do you keep saying that?
I know they are considered perceivers in MBTI BUT....the first function is a judging function (INTP) and you will see that everyone who has a judging function first is more rigid than a dominant perceiver. Just compare INTP with ENTP...it's a perspective thought through socionics
Good video
My bf must see this. He thinks i'm insensitive while i think he is too sensitive. :p
+oxAkatsubakixo my mother's an infj, myself an intp. sometimes ill say things off-the-cuff that totally disgusts her and i dont even see it coming XD
im not heartless, i just dont take anything personally, yknow?
What did you use to get that amazing tan?
Thanks Ashley :) I think it was spray tan in a booth...I am not sure though anymore
You're so right. a couple of days ago my INTP boyfriend and had a fight. He couldn't see things as I did. I ended up being mean to him cause it felt like a sort of betrayal . Any idea on how I should make it up to him?
+Cassandra Ineza Just apologize, sincerely...if he doesn't accept it you have to stay firm though.
+INFJ:BelowtheRadar-AbovetheSystem Thank you for answering :)
Even if I doubt it will work ...
+Karen Brown Yeah we don't hold grudges do we
I thought INTP was perceiving and not judging.
Officially perceiving extraverted function but first function is introverted thinking which is a judging function
Oh thank you for explaining that. I see that is why Ti in first position can create such good or horrible situations in groups - further undermining the Fe.
INFJ should be diplomatic iq dominant, not tactical.
subconscious bias Good video btw
Table soccer is called fusball
Thanks 😊
