Having my own theory, i think the artifacts are creations made by ancient humans far in the past and the cube revealed the old civilization with any mutants (Such as timmy) having splitting reactions and any human on the outside getting mutated(Jianyu) and the spaceship as well as artifacts is what remains of past civilizations, i also think that this civilization was Humanoid as the humanoid Spacesuits found around the Spaceship as well as that odd armor that opens up the door to the cube, and most likely that the solfaite had mutagenic reactions to humans which was the downfall of the past civilizations, as we can see a soul type of being that looks like a mutant fly around when the cube reveals that odd dimension, or that dimension could be what's left of the old civilizations. Maybe Sofalite also has the ability to transport between dimensions as well

All the others are just plain and dry gameplay reviewing (that I'm turning off 5 minutes in, because getting bored) and are not going so deep into the connections of Pt1 and Pt2 nor the before and after game stories! theoretically, Timmy is not a survivor but a rescued person, since he died after Mattwew Cross killed him to rescue Megane, regarding his book on parrallel dimensions, the theory is that since he died, at least for the duration of his so-called death and his experience with the artefact, he was somehow put in direct contact with it, at least he was able to sense the artefacts. able to sense the artifacts and see in ''vision'' things that led him to the ''Pandorica'' which is a temporal prison (and not Pandora's box'' having the capacity to move in time to throw in the ''souls'' of the condemned. Hence the fact that we see cultists at the end of Sons Of The Forest trying to escape during the jump into another universe/Time, the second theory concerning Timmy and Virginia on the aggravation of their mutation is that when they were put in contact with the artifacts the ''consciousness'' of this strange ''object'' chose them to survive and preserve their consciousnesses, as you saw in the same cinematic a Siamese mutant revolves around our character reflecting a new choice of Pandorica because she alone decided to let our protagonist enter and wanted to prevent Virginia and Timmy from entering without counting Jian Lu who mutated during her activation Pandorica therefore continued the process of our protagonist by ''choosing'' then issued a ''warning'' to Timmy and Virginia by amplifying their mutations without transforming them more than that (Timmy's transformation at the end is at the ores) because Virginia had nothing except a little shock,
I have never seen the white painted cannibals in The Forest. I never knew that the owner of the corporation in The Forest was the one who took Timmy. And he was also the red man. But I only saw him on the yacht. I never knew he stalked you on the island. That makes it so much creepier. You can crash on the mountain? I have only seen the same scene and area where you crash into the trees and that guy falls out and gets crushed by the door. This was a great video! I definitely enjoyed watching it. Word of advice from a deaf person, any time you're talking, always have the captions. I love your captions that you put. Correct, and easy to see and read. But there were times you were talking and you did not caption that part, so I did not know what was said. Overall you did a fantastic job!

Woah that's neat to learn who the protag of Sons of the Forest is. For the longest time, I thought he was just some guy and not like Eric from the first game. Nice to know he's a well-known reporter and stuff.
Hey it's funny that no one talks about the "sons of the light" we can find 4 notes talking about them on the floor of the hell cave and end game cave (we can't pick them up). They are similar to the cultists the notes are old and speak of the pilgrimage towards the city of gold and we have no more information on it... but a paper can be found which speaks that "more wicked is the heart, more grotesque the creature is within. (some thing like that) this comes from the same book.
The “more wicked the heart the more grotesque the creature within” would explain why different characters got effected differently, Jianyu just outside of the cube, being traitorous and a spy killing anyone inconvenient was turned into a monster, Jack was immune because of the Solafite armor. Timmy slowly becoming monster probably because he was getting more on obsessive looking for a miracle cure, Virginia being mostly innocent got affected slightly with additional limbs. And Kelvin being basically immune because of his brain damage changing him with dog like loyalty and childlike mental capacity. Pretty much making him the most innocent and least touched my the cube
Yes but Timmy has multiple variations of himself split and screams in agony while in the cube, Jack shows some splitting and starts convulsing a little from all the electricity directed but is kept safe by being in the armor, Virginia passes out and Kelvin just sits there like well that’s cool, now what do we do? So for some reason the follower npcs never had parallel universe variants like Timmy or Jack did for some reason. The Cube might be judging them

Big fucking Respect. I'm definitely interested in the tattoo with "Fight Demons" and at the end where the rescue team arrives where there are white "cross" symbols on the back. Some of a "Holy Fight" maybe?. (In the last cave you can use the “cross” and burn the demons) For both parts it is always a cycle. Son is kidnapped and in the end you kidnap a child. Ceo is missing and in the end Tim suffers the same fate.
I never noticed the cross on the back of the CIA honestly. About the tatoo, I really don't know what to think. Apparently, its meaning was completely cut off the lore development, which sucks
Im probably not the only one, but I feel like Jack's 'Fight Demons' isnt just a random tattoo and is actually some sort of goal or a reminder. Why I think so is because he may likely is able to see visions, just like Timmy, Edward, the cultist, and is probably been seeing demons (like those in the Hell cave) in his visions most of his life and decided to make that tattoo as some sort of deterrent to whatever make would him lose himself because of those visions. Assuming Jack is able to see visions, earning Edward's trust through the 'mostly accurate' book of him written by Jack would make sense as the probably the best way for Jack to write that book is if Jack could relate to Edward in regards to their life driven by the visions they've been seeing. Also the fact that during the ending where Timmy warns Jack about the artifact calling out to him means Timmy is at least aware that Jack may likely be susceptible to the visions
Sons Of The Forest lore is just straight up copy paste of Golden Land and Eldlich The Golden Lord lore from YuGiOh Lmao. Its AMAZING People go to island, people turn into gold while searching for power, some mutated into zombies in yugioh aka mutants in forest. And its all powered by artifact in both that gives them some sort of power and imortality. Which i LOVE btw. As A yugioh fan and Forest fun

Am i the inly one who realises timmy is the only one killed by the first artifact. Everyone else mutated by it was dead prior too, killed by someone or something. But timmy was killed by the artifact itself, and yet somehow his mutation was different.
In lore, a lot of terminally ill children were sacrificed in favour of curing another. Sahara would rather have one child with a long life rather than two with short ones.

So idea for next game: we are (could be Timmy’s father again) looking for Timmy on the island only to find out that you can go in the cube through the side with the gold city and enter a parallel universe where Timmy entered and we have to try to rescue him. Also they could add a new artifact that lets you travel through universes but always on the island and you will be on the same spot, the moment you slip in another universe. Also they could make it so that the original artifact from sotf is still in the state when we decide to leave (in the air) and we could use it to teleport or cure mutants. Then they could also add a option to fly to the island of the forest maybe.

It is very likely that the missionaries became the cannibals. Megan either killed Matthew due to cannibalistic tendencies or because she knew what he did to get her back. She transforms because shes been mutated, this is present on Timmy and Jianyu as well.
timmy went to gold city to find the about the dreams he had getting and also because he was the only one alive who was controlled/attracted by the artifacts or maybe something else
He did have the same visions Cultists, Edward and Fishermen had as revealed from the Cube scene but he looked after it only because he believed it was able to heal it

I love this. I honestly watched a Let's Play with markiplier and friends and missed out on a portion of the key story elements. This really made most of the story make sense now and the lore is very interesting!
Excellent video, but I have two questions 1.- Why do the helicopters at the end of the police have a religious cross in addition to the fact that the policemen also have a religious cross on their bulletproof vests? Great video mate, by far the best lore video on this game that I have seen so far, but still, where do the cannibals from the 2nd game come from? On the first game it was the christian missioanaries but where do the cannibals from the 2nd game come from, if they were already on the island I doubt that Doris main concern was not the 3 hour trip to the golf course but the multiple cannibals in the area
Apparently, cannibals were there after the Cube activation (just think at the bunker B, which was covered by one of the main camps). The main theory is that those far enough / above ground didn't turn into mutants but became cannibals. Tho, according to the latest discoveries (Sons Of Light papers), it seems that cannibals are mutants that were turn into human again after the Cube activation. It's still well known that cannibals were not on the island before the Cube activation.
Where is the book written by Kelvin (Robby)? Is it still in the game? I never would have guessed we were Jack Holt but Edward saying he is media but he trusts him, then thinking about the nickname Press, makes it easy to understand
Each ending is revealing in its own way and in all of them the protagonist, Jack Holt, is present for the other 3 protagonists who accompanied him in that hell. (Sorry for a lot of text)) Timmy's case is that despite his condition, they managed to find a cure thanks to the Solefita sample, which made him more famous and gave him recognition to create a company. Although in the credits we see that he discovered another island with Solefita, but he ended up disappearing and the next game could be about that. Kelvin's case is sad because his mentality degraded to that of a child, but he will never be alone because he has the protagonist and Virginia at his side, and they will give him the best care. We also see that in the car he seems to hear better. On Virginia's part, she got the happiest because she managed to be cured thanks to the cure developed with the Solefita sample. She took her life back and the bond she formed with Jack grew stronger leading to them falling in love and having a future baby. Well she lost her entire family and she went through hell in the 8 months she was alone on the island, but it's good that she will move on with Jack and Kelvin. I also consider that Jack Holt had the finale because we see him with Virginia and Kelvin. Before getting into the car he stands watching the sunset, now free of his own demons and with a family. In the credits we see that he wrote a Bestseller narrating what he experienced on that island. With all the endings and additional information we know that Timmy managed to find the cure he was looking for. The events of the game were revealed and he became the CEO of his own company that seeks to help others. He managed to discover a new island with Solefite and perhaps more artifacts, but ended up disappearing. So the next plot could deal with a new protagonist and knowing what happened to Timmy.
Hey very great theory and timeline I'd like to say but if you go in-game on Sons of The Forest and use the found footage style option you can see the events of the game (when you come to the island) happen in 2025, the date and time even stack with the realistic time and season length options in custom difficulties
That is a place holder. According to notes, magazine and the cube countdown (yes, someone really decrypted those numbers), it is confirmed that the events take place in 2027 (the cube activates every 16 years, so we have 1979, 1995, 2011 (so around The Forest events) and 2027)
If there's a The Forest 3, I think the main character would be the child of Virginia and Jack looking for his father's missing friend. The story might take place in the future, probably years later.
At the end of SOTF, we see Timmy become a lead in pharmacy and eventually goes missing (shown in the end credits) so we might have to find Timmy AGAIN.
This may not be well explained in the video (is not even mentioned tho): the more twisted your heart is, the more grotesque your mutation will be. That's why Virginia didn't mutate into something worse and why Timmy had "only" his arm mutated... tho I can't understand why Megan was done so dirty. I guess because she was ill?

They came there in middle of 16 centry (you can read about it on the wekipedia), it was spain missioners, they stoped there to collect some resources. After that they met aborigines that showed them a caves, the caves were their beautiful place. But spain missioners didnt want to see what there, they wanted to explore that and because of that they used explosive to go through. Aborigines didnt liked it and some of them killed them, other group discoverd that big artifact and they saw first mutant, virginia. They put crosses around the caves to stop that unholy things but they died
Would have been cooler if the part 3 happened, let’s say 10-15 years later, on the mainland, the cube was moved/moved itself to the continent in a densely populated area and was activated causing millions of people to be affected and moving further inland, forcing governments to mobilize their armies to deal with the threat but failed to contain it And the cannibal tribes from the island (and other islands near the islands) migrating to the mainland and causing mayhem, which forces Jack, Virginia, Kelvin, Eric and Timmy to take arms and fight back Add a possibility to enter the Gold City/Gold City habitant to visit and come to either help or conquer us And the child of Jack and Virginia mutate and either turn out like Timmy or like Megan

My theory is: cultists arrived at the Cube, or at least those not injured by Demons, and when saw the Gold City, they step out of the Cube and fell into it. So the "ghosts" are those cultists that entered the Gold City and stepped out of the Cube (which closed when time ran out)

So idea for next game: we are (could be Timmy’s father again) looking for Timmy on the island only to find out that you can go in the cube through the side with the gold city and enter a parallel universe where Timmy entered and we have to try to rescue him. Also they could add a new artifact that lets you travel through universes but always on the island and you will be on the same spot, the moment you slip in another universe. Also they could make it so that the original artifact from sotf is still in the state when we decide to leave (in the air) and we could use it to teleport or cure mutants. Then they could also add a option to fly to the island of the forest maybe.

a lot of cannibals are mutants, the puffies are notably some because they were mutated by the reality shifting nature of the Cube as we see in Sons

It is very likely that the missionaries became the cannibals. Megan either killed Matthew due to cannibalistic tendencies or because she knew what he did to get her back. She transforms because shes been mutated, this is present on Timmy and Jianyu as well.

timmy went to gold city to find the about the dreams he had getting and also because he was the only one alive who was controlled/attracted by the artifacts or maybe something else
He did have the same visions Cultists, Edward and Fishermen had as revealed from the Cube scene but he looked after it only because he believed it was able to heal it

Why are there cannibals at site 2? I dont remeber any notes/pickups mentioning them being there or harassing the workers as they built the holosprings

It's true that we don't know, but I still found that the female cannibal assassins (who roll around and have knives) have clothing similar to the woman we see on the circus brochure ( obtained in the residential bunker) and when she launches an attack, they adopt the same posture as this woman in the brochure. @@anthoxkev8947 The cannibals are likely just those who were on the surface when the cube activated, as there seems to be a link to proximity or depth to how extreme the mutations can be.
I love this. I honestly watched a Let's Play with markiplier and friends and missed out on a portion of the key story elements. This really made most of the story make sense now and the lore is very interesting!

Great video mate, by far the best lore video on this game that I have seen so far, but still, where do the cannibals from the 2nd game come from? On the first game it was the christian missioanaries but where do the cannibals from the 2nd game come from, if they were already on the island I doubt that Doris main concern was not the 3 hour trip to the golf course but the multiple cannibals in the area
Apparently, cannibals were there after the Cube activation (just think at the bunker B, which was covered by one of the main camps). The main theory is that those far enough / above ground didn't turn into mutants but became cannibals.
Tho, according to the latest discoveries (Sons Of Light papers), it seems that cannibals are mutants that were turn into human again after the Cube activation. It's still well known that cannibals were not on the island before the Cube activation.
Where is the book written by Kelvin (Robby)? Is it still in the game?
I never would have guessed we were Jack Holt but Edward saying he is media but he trusts him, then thinking about the nickname Press, makes it easy to understand
It was changed from Rodney to Robin but yeah, game files say so (tho you'll find no proof in the game)
Each ending is revealing in its own way and in all of them the protagonist, Jack Holt, is present for the other 3 protagonists who accompanied him in that hell. (Sorry for a lot of text))
Timmy's case is that despite his condition, they managed to find a cure thanks to the Solefita sample, which made him more famous and gave him recognition to create a company. Although in the credits we see that he discovered another island with Solefita, but he ended up disappearing and the next game could be about that.
Kelvin's case is sad because his mentality degraded to that of a child, but he will never be alone because he has the protagonist and Virginia at his side, and they will give him the best care. We also see that in the car he seems to hear better.
On Virginia's part, she got the happiest because she managed to be cured thanks to the cure developed with the Solefita sample. She took her life back and the bond she formed with Jack grew stronger leading to them falling in love and having a future baby. Well she lost her entire family and she went through hell in the 8 months she was alone on the island, but it's good that she will move on with Jack and Kelvin.
I also consider that Jack Holt had the finale because we see him with Virginia and Kelvin. Before getting into the car he stands watching the sunset, now free of his own demons and with a family. In the credits we see that he wrote a Bestseller narrating what he experienced on that island.
With all the endings and additional information we know that Timmy managed to find the cure he was looking for. The events of the game were revealed and he became the CEO of his own company that seeks to help others. He managed to discover a new island with Solefite and perhaps more artifacts, but ended up disappearing. So the next plot could deal with a new protagonist and knowing what happened to Timmy.

Hey very great theory and timeline I'd like to say but if you go in-game on Sons of The Forest and use the found footage style option you can see the events of the game (when you come to the island) happen in 2025, the date and time even stack with the realistic time and season length options in custom difficulties
That is a place holder. According to notes, magazine and the cube countdown (yes, someone really decrypted those numbers), it is confirmed that the events take place in 2027 (the cube activates every 16 years, so we have 1979, 1995, 2011 (so around The Forest events) and 2027)

(sorry for bad english) They came to the island not because of god or something, not even in 19 centry. They came there in middle of 16 centry (you can read about it on the wekipedia), it was spain missioners, they stoped there to collect some resources. After that they met aborigines that showed them a caves, the caves were their beautiful place. But spain missioners didnt want to see what there, they wanted to explore that and because of that they used explosive to go through. Aborigines didnt liked it and some of them killed them, other group discoverd that big artifact and they saw first mutant, virginia. They put crosses around the caves to stop that unholy things but they died

My theory is: cultists arrived at the Cube, or at least those not injured by Demons, and when saw the Gold City, they step out of the Cube and fell into it. So the "ghosts" are those cultists that entered the Gold City and stepped out of the Cube (which closed when time ran out)
