I totally agree that balanced wheel and shaft is enough. When I rebuild my first turbo everybody told me that I need to get it balanced, I did took many weeks and lots of money.
After that I changed the compressor wheel without removing the turbo from the car... so of course only balanced parts.
I didn't feel or see any difference and the bearing was fine for a long time. Yes turbo is dead now but was killed from a piece of plastic that broke of the connection to a vaacum line.
Since then I did rebuild a few turbo and a buddy of mine did the same. Never one of this turbos did fail.

Nice, I have put together turbos from new parts and ran them as is. Balanced components are just that balanced. But on the new small diesel turbos the rpm range is around 180krpm and they would benefit from chra balancing. Heck I have seen turbos with parts of the turbine blades been missing for a long time and they ran without damage to the housings.

ok think i got it. lol it is a subject ive always had concern, on the ford 6.0 psd turbo which you look around and see all the different upgrades and options of just wheels and then places that wanna sell a balanced shaft/wheel combo, i was supposed to get that powermax upgrade cover/wheel that we conversed couple months ago, still intend to but went diff injectors and couple other mods to help pair with it first, 205/30s and your 88r upgrade should be a small increase in power, lol or should i look at something else you carry i dont tow shit with it, thats what my 7.3 is for

would you say that component balancing on the smaller turbos td-o3 / td-o4 is suffcient only to a certain psi?.. like if you run them past 20 psi then a vsr balacing would be a safer choice?

So if I have a small 16g and want to use your tdo6 compressor going and wheel, does it need to be balanced?

In relation to balance , how do you compensate for carbon build up on turbine & dirt build up on compressor , wouldn’t that result in out of balance over time? Or is that so minimal that it doesn’t effect it?

Hi mate. I was just wondering if you might be able to shine some light on my potential TD04l -13T upgrade.
Im running this on my 1.3 litre Suzuki twin cam engine and as it is, It drives really nice, a little bit laggier than I'd like, but tolerable.
Ive been considering the 19T, 11 blade billet compressor upgrade and possible the upgraded 9 blade turbine as well but can't find any real life information as to whether Im wasting my time and money.
Just looking to improve the spool up and efficiency of the compressor, to help keep intake temps lower.
Appreciate any helpful info you could pass on. Thankyou

I tried sending you an email to send in my brand new 19ts to smoothen out the inside along with machining for the bigger thrust collar. Can I just send my turbos in along with the rebuild form?
Or do I need to wait for an email back first? Thank you!

You seriously give crap info at times and this is one of them, all turbos need balancing as a assembly regardless even if alignment is kept during a rebuild.
