I made this for dinner last night and it was just awesome! My pressure cooker needed a bit more time and my butcher recommended lamb shoulder and cut it into chunks for me. The end result was so tasty. The spice and the salt levels are just right. An amazing, easy to make curry. Thank you!
I have been cooking some of your dishes… all I can say is yum. I love Pakistani cuisine and my learning of how to make your food, I feel like I am a getting better as a chef. Jazaak Allaahu Khayran 🎉
Lamb curries so well, slow cooked like in a lamb handi its like butter. Doesn't that look beautiful on the plate, a couple of fresh made warm chapattis and what more could you ask for 😋.
I love making curry, and this is hands down the best curry I've ever had, from a restaurant, takeaway, and homemade. Although I use mutton instead of lamb.
Thanks a million Shammi, I requested this from you a couple of months ago and it looks delicious 😋. I don’t have a pressure cooker so will have to do it the oven in the Le Cruessier (Dutch Oven), but I will follow the recipe carefully, it will just differ in the time. I’ve never cooked a curry before without onion !! Thanks again 👍
That looks absolutely delicious Shamza.. I don’t have a pressure cooker so roughly how long would this take simmering on a hob or in a casserole in the oven?? Thank you for sharing👌🏻
It was Kev! To cook this on in a normal pot, the cooking times would double. So the meat would take anything between 30-45mins depending on cut and size. Hope this helps 🙌
Im 36 and only know how to grill, use an air fryer, cook pan stuff like breakfast and burgers but when it comes to currys it all looks complicated but you made it look organised
honestly it SOOO easy ....literally throw everything raw into the PC for 15m and then lid off to reduce the wateryness .....done .....try it , you dont even need a pressure cooker , just simmer it in a regular pan for like 45 mins !!
Hi Shamza! Hope you are well! I love your channel and think you should have a book published, seriously! We adore your fish curry at home; we use our pressure cooker all the time and cannot wait to try this recipe! More pressure cooker curries would be awesome thank you! Bless you and have a lovely day! ♥️
Hello, what a great video, the kids loved this dish, its now there new favourite, they asked me to make it again, however lamb is to expensive, so would like to use the same method but with a whole chicken on the bone cut to bite size pieces, i assume the method would be the same but timings would be diff? Can you please help?
Hi shumz wow MashaAllah fantastic recipe of gosht. ALLAH PAAK aap ko sada salamat aur tandrust rakhe Ameen. Love you ❤️💋 i have one question k agar rasmalai mein double cream k baje all purpose cream 150 ml add kar li jaye toa kya it's perfect aap ki recipe rasmalai is awesome.
Ive been cooking BIR curries with base gravy for a while but this is by far the best curry ive made,i done mine in the Instant pot and i used beef as it was on sale but i have a question ,how would you do the same curry with chicken without overcooking the crap out of it?
I love all your dishes so much! Thank you for sharing!! ❤❤❤ Can you please advise me though how many liters is your pressure cooker on Amazon? I need to buy one and love yours in this video but not sure about the size.. (we are a family of 5). Thank you❤❤
Hello when you're mentioning the ingredients you mention salt then coriander powder, what's the one after coriander powder? I really wanna try this recipe and need to know what that ingredient is, thanks in advance.
Looks good, not sure why you wouldn’t add all the spices (not Gara masala and cosori methi ) a little less water and ghee instead of oil , I’m also thinking lamb shoulder in 15 minutes is a bit ambitious even for a pressure cooker, and my other concern is the price of 1 kg of lamb you’ll need to take out a second mortgage lol 😂 , this is no way meant as a put down just us home chefs knocking ideas together, I cook your black dala in the pressure cooker on a regular basis but I cook the masala first then add the lentils and water to the pressure cooker, buna it and add butter at the end , keep up the good work looking forward to your next video 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Its called bunning (spelling) basically simmer the curry till it starts to catch on the pan, when it does ad a little hot water (about an egg cup full or there abouts not too much!) And repeat this process for about 10 minutes, you should start to see oil separate.
I’m sorry but I can’t hear properly what sort of powder you have included for colour which you mention just after you list the coriander powder. It sounded like “began mix” but I’m sure that’s not right and I can’t think what it might be. I looked all over for a list of ingredients but couldn’t find one but that might be my error. Thank you.
David, the ingredients for all my recipe are always put into the description box for the videos INGREDIENTS: 1kg leg of lamb (on the bone) 1kg tomatoes 1/2 cup oil approx 120ml 1/2 water approx 120ml 1.5 teaspoon salt (adjust to your taste) 2 teaspoons of coriander powder and deghi mirch 1 teaspoon turmeric powder and regular chilli powder 1 cinnamon stick, 3 green and 1 black cardamom pod 1 frozen cube each of ginger and garlic (substitute with a tablespoon of the paste or puree if not using frozen) 1/2 tablespoon garam masala and dried fenugreek leaves

Shamsa thanks for your videos and being thorough. Any chance you will do a video for kofta curry

Hi, love all your recipes. If I was to make this in the instant pot how would I cook it?
I'm not sure as I've never tried. Sorry
Ive been cooking BIR curries with base gravy for a while but this is by far the best curry ive made,i done mine in the Instant pot and i used beef as it was on sale but i have a question ,how would you do the same curry with chicken without overcooking the crap out of it?

Hey, do I need a pressure cooker for this recipe or can I follow your instructions on a normal pot on a gas cooker just with more time? X
Apologies for the delay, yes you can do this in a normal pot, please check out my other videos that don't use a pressure cooker.
That looks delicious Shamsa. Can I ask where you got your pressure cooker from?
Of course Farrah. I've link to it in my Amazon shop in the description box, take a look. Honestly one of the easiest pressure cookers I've ever used.
Hello when you're mentioning the ingredients you mention salt then coriander powder, what's the one after coriander powder? I really wanna try this recipe and need to know what that ingredient is, thanks in advance.
Deghi Mirch
Degi mirch or kashmiri chilli powder, if you take a look at the description box below the vidoe you'll find a full list of ingredients.
Thanks for the reply I already have that ingredient:) just need a pressure cooker which I will get soon.
Love Indian food ❤
❤❤❤ Great recipe. Haven't seen you in a while! Your food was definitely missed 🤗 . Any insta pot ideas for meats....
Hi. Any particular reason why you don't add yoghurt towards the later stages, which is something you did with your Gohst Kahrai?
👍
Thanks for the like!!! Don't forget to subscribe and turn your bell notifications on.
I think I've found tomorrow's dinner 😁😁 just one Q, I cannot afford lamb right now, would you recommend beef or mutton for a substitute?
Mutton would work, cooking time would go up as its a tougher meat, check at 25-30 minutes, it could take a little longer check as you go.
Can this recipe be done in a slow cooker?
I think so! Never tried it l but don't see why not.
👍🏾
Could I broil this in the oven
What would the timings be without a pressure cooker ? Thanks
I don't have pressure cooker pot can i use normal pan
Absolutely.

Where is your pressue cooker from
The link to the one I use in the description box. 😊🙌
Looks unreal ❤ but I don’t see the point or use of the oil in this recipe?
Can you make chicken pasanda
Hi what did you do at the process at 8:16 when the appearance of the dish completely changes? I can never get mine quite like that
Its called bunning (spelling) basically simmer the curry till it starts to catch on the pan, when it does ad a little hot water (about an egg cup full or there abouts not too much!) And repeat this process for about 10 minutes, you should start to see oil separate.
By the way i did make this or my mom made it with many instruction from few Pakistani staff...good taste but hot!!!
Wonderful to hear this!
Do you not use onions
I’m sorry but I can’t hear properly what sort of powder you have included for colour which you mention just after you list the coriander powder. It sounded like “began mix” but I’m sure that’s not right and I can’t think what it might be. I looked all over for a list of ingredients but couldn’t find one but that might be my error. Thank you.
David, the ingredients for all my recipe are always put into the description box for the videos
INGREDIENTS:
1kg leg of lamb (on the bone)
1kg tomatoes
1/2 cup oil approx 120ml
1/2 water approx 120ml
1.5 teaspoon salt (adjust to your taste)
2 teaspoons of coriander powder and deghi mirch
1 teaspoon turmeric powder and regular chilli powder
1 cinnamon stick, 3 green and 1 black cardamom pod
1 frozen cube each of ginger and garlic (substitute with a tablespoon of the paste or puree if not using frozen)
1/2 tablespoon garam masala and dried fenugreek leaves
similar to bhuna gosht? no?
No, as bhuna gosht has onions in it and differs in taste, this is just purely tomato masala. So different.
If dont have a pressure cooker?
Hi Shamza I've just made your lamb karahi and it looks amazing also I made a beef karahi it looks amazing I cooked the beef a little longer you're recipe was so easy to follow 👍 I've just recently found you on TH-cam I've subscribe and liked your videos so come on people subscribe and like the channel one last thing Shamza could you please give more pressure cooker recipes many thanks
Thank you so much and I'm glad the videos are easy to follow. 😊👍
That’s it… I came here to hear "bhunning". Imo, the best part of the recipe, which is good as well.
Have you tried this using tinned tomatoes ? Asking for a friend...
I reckon most people cooking this are using tinned tomatoes my mum used to.
Hi, Yes and it works. Just use two tins worth of tomatoes.
First...😀
Appreciate your support Tony 🙌
I thought Karahi lamb is cooked in Karahi!!!
cooked in lot of oil and water
Most people wouldn't have a karahi laying around at home!
@@crash.bam.kapow.8189 most Punjabis have more then one karahi at home.
@NonvegIndia Yeah, but not all of her audience is punjabi...they're more likely to have a pressure cooker than a karahi.
Not a disaster but… my wife said “make double “. So the pressure cooker was over filled and didn’t work so had to transfer to the biggest pan we had and simmered til it reduced
it was still gorgeous. more pressure cooker recipes please
It’s missing Ginger Julienne and Green Chilli… surely not a Karahi without those…
When making desi food for kids too and wanting them to eat the food you kinda have to leave a few ingredients out but for adults yeah I would add them too like you said.
OK, a guy here with limited knowledge. Why no onions?
Timing off. Over 2 hours and the gravy had still lots of water
It puzzles me. With it being called a Lamb Karahi. This dish is traditionally made in a Karahi. So why make it in a pressure cooker ?
So, you obviously didn't watch the video, otherwise you wouldn't need to ask.
Most people wouldn't have a karahi laying around at home!
Are you married???
Lovely sis the best school in the world❤❤❤❤❤?😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much
