Alyssa rented a car and took herself to a conference that exposed the beautiful concept of creating a life for yourself in the way that only you desire. She drove away with ideas that landed her traveling full time in a gorgeous van build. This powerhouse woman designed and constructed this rig with her father by her side, and the result is stunning.
Considering she's a designer with an artistic mind, you can understand the cosmetic appeal of her tiny home on wheels. The soft colors balanced with warm wood tones give it a spacious and welcoming feel. The kitchen and bench seating area quickly transforms into a workspace supporting her large iMac screen and allows for valuable hours of sound production. The time and energy devoted to this project shine throughout the functional layout and peaceful decor.

My 2 challenges-
Toilet/shower- still can’t figure out the best way to have a close to normal shower and I’ve never used compost toilets before so idk how that will work out. Guess I have to try it and see
Clothes- I have so much clothing, I realize van lifers have minimal storage for clothes so I guess I’d have to throw out 80% of my clothing. I see u have plenty of storage for shoes but not much for clothing
This is one of the best van setups I've ever seen. I love the fact that it's really organized unlike other van setups

I would have liked to see where she put a toilet at (if she had one) though. She also didn't mention shower options. Otherwise, nice colors and thought put into design.

I'd absolutely LOVE to have a van like this specifically for working out of(I'm a traveling notary), but I couldn't live without my own personal toilet and shower. That would be a must for me.
There is a toilet in a drawer stored in the bench, they just didn't show it!
Well it’s great she has a toilet but a shower is necessary.
@@Bahamut69 for simple notarizations yes but i do home loan packages for people so i travel to them to fill out the paperwork then send it back to the bank

Probably the neatest and most organized van I’ve seen online. Beautifully done.
Practicalities always interest me:
Basic hygiene?
Toileting?
Showering/bathing?

I've watched this vid several times now and just smile throughout the whole time. Such a cool van build and such an amazing person filled with free spirit and creativity along with the courage to commit to her dreams and visions. Such an inspiration to us all.
I love the creamy palate versus white. It gives a very calming vibe with the blush bed spread. Beautiful build. What do you do about showering and going to the restroom?
A lot of folks use their gym memberships to shower I heard
If you don’t want to use a gym or don’t want to make a water system (even an inexpensive one) a really cheap way to put a shower in the van is a pressurized weed sprayer, you can buy them new for very cheap and they have really nice pressure and you can put your own shower head in it, to shower in a van I’d probably just get a pop up pod to put outside to stand in, or make part of the counter top fold up to reveal a half sized wet room with hooks for curtains on the ceiling, a lot of people go with a full size wet room and idk why, it takes up sooo much room because it goes up to the ceiling
I was wondering about a toilet. I was thinking it was under the "desk chair". She never showed that and it looks like it had some kind of storage. Or did I miss it?
@@karenbays9185 I read in another comment from the girl herself that she did have a pull-out toilet under the bench. They just didn’t show it in the video. That’s rather a shame because we all think that’s one of the most important things!

@@kimtipton6690 Exactly. Especially after Covid and things like Shingles going around, it's important to not have to rely on going into public places for those things.
@@skywalker6648 shingles is not a contagious disease, but I get your point.
@@vjohnsonbarrett Wrong. IT IS indeed contagious disease that unless you are immunized against it you can get it. (In fact, if you contract it, you will be contagious for 7 to 11 days) Trust me I personally know someone who contracted shortly after using a dressing room.

I rent a house and I never have room for anything. This is why I enjoy watching van life videos. They're so creative with their storage and space. They make things work. So it gives me ideas on how to store things and create more space in my home.
The design and color scheme really give this build a "fancy tiny home" look. Love how it came out. So clean.

I like your van. I've been living solo in a van for 18 months full-time. I wish my family supported van life but they want me to get an house or apartment. I'm sticking to van life for now. Best to you on your journeys.

I found myself thinking that I could see my daughter, who is also named Alyssa, living in a tiny home like this. What a great build! I think it's great that she and her dad did this while others were languishing during the pandemic. The planning really showed in the end result. All in all, a fabulous van tour! This one definitely has one of the best space utilization I have seen. As much as I would like to think I could live with 3 t-shirts, a pair of jeans and 2 pairs of shoes, I need a variety of clothing and I would be able to store quite a bit here! Great job

Simple cooking setup, nice WFH setup, clean and organized... this build makes way more sense to me than almost any other that I've seen.
I recently saw something on TH-cam about a lady, living in her car, and she was attacked. Thank goodness she got away, unscathed, but quite rattled. Are you ever worried about camping somewhere, and someone harassing you? Please stay safe.
Would have liked to see door separating cab fron rest of van etc b very nice build. Can tell Dad has serious skills and you also have very nice taste. See you didn't get personal with shower/ toilet fixtures. Am an older retired RN who is always concerned about young women traveling alone. Hope you have serious protection. It's always nice to see a dog companion too. A good bark can keep unwanted visitors away. Enjoy your nomad lifestyle and safe travels.
I want to get a motorhome for me and my husky, my ex boyfriend has him, he's almost 4,he doesn't bark, but he's big and looks the part.
I wouid been motorhome as they are big and have shower and toilet

For some reason even though her tiny home doesn't have many things installed, but I love how spacious, cosy and soft her space is. It's so inviting and comforting.
Definitely well planned out. I wonder if I could ever stop planning and start building? That's probably why I'll choose a camper, even though I like the van just for the one-parking-space wherever you go, idea. Great job on the video, also.

Very well done. Live life while you're young and and you'll regret less later in life of the things you didn't do. Congrats. My daughter has had this same idea for a while now and I support her. Wow! Very impressive. I bought a factory built Sprinter RV about 15 years ago and the design is ridiculous compared to yours. They should all be embarrassed by the quality of your design and the thoughtfulness of your build. In fact I have not seen many that rival your beautiful project. Its hard to know what you REALLY want in your RV until you've lived in it and travelled for a while...things you don't need that take up space, or things you wish you had done differently. Everyone has a unique set of needs but your van looks perfect for what you are doing. But most of all I l love your attitude! I too bought my van to explore, to travel and visit people, meet new people, enjoying the outdoors, chasing wind and waves (kiteboarding, skiing, etc.) My kitesurfing gear (now kite-foiling/wing-foiling) creates a whole new demand for space and storage. But I still need the minimal comforts of a nice bed, being able to cook, being able to chill and just hang out. If you are ever in West Michigan I would love to see your van and hear about your adventures. Safe travels! Roberto
Wonderful job on the Transit build! I especially like the bench/monitor layout. I would say something snarky about having too many shoes, but I just looked at the ridiculous number of fishing rods I have in my van so I will bite my tongue. You're right.. "They fit" so why not bring them! =)

Great use of space. I caught the pan you showed- had to listen several times to get the name of it. It looks like a pan we could use for our camper. Having the right one matters. I liked the kitchen on the wall that isn’t next to the door. I would have to have a 2 burner stove but think waiting to see what you want matters. Shoe racks are really important and so is a place for trash and laundry.thanks for sharing

I also only like the layouts where you can get from the living space to the driver's seat. Any vanner needs to be able to self contain, shut the door and drive off quickly. I would also like to hear where women park at night. Only RV parks or campgrounds? I saw a video advising about a bunch of possible places.
